ABSOLUTELY AWFUL experience today!! The dentist Dr. Blake was disrespectful and UNPROFESSIONAL in all aspects!!! He should not be representing a pediatric dentist office or dealing with children at all!!!!!

I WOULD NEVER TRUST DR.BLAKE ALONE WITH MY CHILD!!!!!!! He is disrespectful and rude, and does not have a good bedside manor at all. He refused to see my child for his scheduled treatment plan for 1 filling and then proceeded to tell me that I was rude and disrespectful. We had been seeing Dr. Ross in naples prior for our 2 children and she was lovely, gentle and courteous. We were then told after an hour of waiting that they would not allow us back to the office. DR.BLAKE IS A DISGRACE AS A PEDIATRIC DOCTOR WHO DOES NOT CARE FOR THE WELLBEING OF YOUR CHILD.

My son has been a patient here for over 5 years and previously we had no issues. I believe that as they have grown they have taken on more patients then they can handle making it difficult to get appointments. Communication has also declined. This week I was outright lied to. Last month my son's othrodontist found a cavity so I called to make an appointment to have it filled. They explained that he would need to come in for an exam and then an appointment would be scheduled for the filling. I believe this is so they can bill insurance for 2 visits instead of bundling the services into one visit, but it is what it is. So my appointment was scheduled for a monday at 4:00 (almost 4 weeks later). On the day of the appointment I was called and asked if I could come in earlier and agreed to 3:30. An hour later they called again and told me that 3;30 was still too late because there would not be time to do the filling. I explained that this was just for an exam and to schedule the filling appointment and was told that if I came in earlier the next day they would be able to do both. I agreed and had to take 1/2 day off and pull my son from school but thought it would be worth it to only have one visit. I show up for the appointment, wait almost an hour in the waiting room and then am told that they can't do the filling that day and scheduled me for 3 months out. So basically I was lied to. I am so done with this office.

Treated my daughter very well and helped us work through our insurance. The dental assistant was so sweet to her. Love this place and we will be back!

Don’t allow parents back with children unless they are 3 and under. Completely ridiculous! How do you even know what they are doing to your children. Finding a new dentist immediately!

I just got off the phone and spoke to Rachel to set up an appointment for a new patient (my son). She wasn’t rude to me but did speak to me like she was not enjoying her job and was just miserable and told me that if i booked a appointment to be aware i couldn’t be present during my 5 year olds exam, cleaning or any procedure done. Definitely not a place i would want to proceed to make an appointment with and not a very professional person to speak with coming from a pediatric dentistry.

My son ended up getting 3 teeth removed when I was told he was only getting 1 tooth removed. I understand that the two other teeth were cavities and they felt it was best to go ahead and remove all three but that was never communicated with me until after the procedure was completed. This really upset me as my son had a previous tooth extraction procedure that was done before this one which he developed an infection from then had a full allergic reaction to the antibiotic. He was already extremely nervous going into this one. My other son also had a tooth extraction and was suppose to get a space maintainer in place but ended up not needing it as his adult tooth was already coming in. I wanted to make sure billing was still accurate afterwards, I went to ask the front desk receptionist who was dismissive on what I was trying to ask. She thought I was asking why the space maintainer wasn’t put in even though I already knew why. She went back and asked the girl that worked on my son who I had just spoken with. At this point I could tell she was annoyed and slammed the door open to come out and talk to me, but had to stop her and explain that I knew why it wasn’t in put in, all I was asking is if billing was still accurate. I was also told that both of my children should be out of school for the following day, so they ended up missing two full days of school. I called and requested doctors notes for the two missing days via email and never received. Had to call and request again after waiting two days but only received excuses for one day on each note. Called to explain that they missed two days but they would not excuse the second day as they weren’t seen in the office that day, even though staff told me no school for the the following day and was hung up on by the front desk receptionist. Still waiting on a phone call back from the supervisor. Poor communication.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. This place is ridiculous. They don't let you go back with your children even younger kids. They get wrong Information on children and when you try to correct them they have such horrible attitudes. Also the main guy was extremely rude to my daughter and told her to stop being a bad child only cause she was in pain when extracting a tooth and moved a little bit. She was extremely heart broken cause she was so good and only cause she moved and winced cause the pain he scolded her. And I wasn't allowed back so this is what happens and why they don't allow parents back. Anyways definitely wouldn't recommend.

cant say enough good things. dentists are super friendly and easy going. building is like a giant playground painted and statues and video games a Private toy room etc. cant ask for a better atmosphere such a giant bonus to the great doctors. my daughter's autistic low functioning non verbal fights this stuff to the T. first dentist she's allowed to apply the cleaning and fluoride etc. nothing but happy kids is a weird site at a dentist ???? u guys deserve so much credit

This review is for the Naples office on Piper Boulevard. They insist that children go back alone to the treatment rooms which I was fine with since my teen was there to have x-rays and a 6-month cleaning. But when she walked out I learned they put sealants on 6 (six) of her teeth without my permission or knowledge, or even given a choice in the matter. The Dentist never spoke with me or showed me her x-rays, nor did anyone talk to me about the sealants. Sealants are a controversial procedure -- they are known to prevent cavities but are permanent for up to 3 years, have questionable chemicals in them and like other controversial medical procedures should be researched by the Parent and the Parent given the choice to do the treatment or not. Also, the cost for 6 sealants is around $600, covered by insurance but nevertheless. My advice -- don't sign the BLANK (yes, blank) "Consent Form" the lady at the front desk gives you. Please do not choose to send your child here. I gave them many chances. They are supposed to be all about putting children first and they do anything but. They also made my 4yr old son’s first time at the dentist an awful experience due to extremely poor communication.

This offices practices are unethical and unprofessional. Trying to get a hold of anyone in the office is a nightmare and when you do they are extremely rude. There is absolutely no reason a parent or guardian should not be allowed to accompany a FOUR year old child during their appointment. You’ll notice that you are not signing any consent to treat an unaccompanied minor, yet they will tell you a parent or guardian is not allowed with the child during the appointment unless you need special accommodations. If you switch to a different provider, they will make getting your child’s records a NIGHTMARE even though it’s a literal click of a button within the EMR system. It took a month and a half, countless emails, countless phone calls, and voicemails to get my child’s records emailed to me.

My son had an appointment the beginning of oct for a filing due to hurricane Ian they were closed. When they reopened and I called to reschedule they couldn’t see him until today. I’ve spoke with the office multiple times the last week to make sure everything was good and they had the correct insurance because we had issues with this in the past. They call me yesterday at 4 pm (the day before) to get a medical clearance. They tell me I can bring it so I call his cardiologist they say paperwork takes 48-72 hr so I call his pcp they say they can see him this morning. As I’m brushing my teeth this morning to take him to his dr to get the release for the dentist this afternoon I miss a call from the dentist saying they don’t have the release so they are going to reschedule. So I call back tell them I’m getting the release and that I was told I could bring it with me to the apt. They then proceed to tell me the dr they have now is new and not who set up this treatment plan so she has to see him for an exam and cleaning prior to doing the filing even thought it was originally scheduled for oct. After speaking with a supervisor they said I could bring him for the cleaning and exam today but they would not do the treatment and it would need to be rescheduled. I will not be taking my children back to this practice as they have moons competent working there. I wouldn’t waste your time either because they clearly do not take other people’s time and life into consideration.

If I could give 0 Starts I would. Pretty but horrible place, it's purely facade. They don't care about your child just making money, if you are in a hurry is more important to check your insurance is up to date before seen your child, even if you says you are going to pay in cash. The service is horrible, no teaching dentist ever comes in and checks patients to insure students are doing sufficient work. Good luck trying to reach a human in this office. They don’t give any reminders of future appointments nor do they seem interested in any patients returning. Still haven’t been able to reach a person even though I had left two messages.

From what I can see the front staff is professional and polite. There is however no expectation of privacy in this office, all discussions about patients take place in the packed lobby. I have no idea what the interaction with back staff is like, as no parents are allowed in the back.

Always a great experience at Dr. Verwest office. Staff is friendly and facility clean and entertaining for children. Had the pleasure of meeting Peggy in the waiting area who was very informative and kind. Great job!

We show up to the apt after taking time off work, for them to tell us day of apt (not anytime before) that he needed approval from his doctor to have the filling done. So we were not able to have his dental work done that day. Poor communication on thier part and waste of time for me. We will not be back again. Update 6/3/2022 brought my daughter in her to get a cavity filled. She say Dr. Dena and as she was giving my daughter the numbing shot and she was telling her what it was. I asked her is that the numbing shot. She didn't specifically yes but said something in reference to it. I told her my daughter is special needs and probably has no idea what you are saying bc she was explaining to her like she was an adult. Dr. Dena gets offended and says..we don't use that word here...I'm thinking I'm trying to inform you my daughter is special needs and maybe you need to explain it to her in a different way. I'll probably be leaving and switching to mainstreet soon I don't feel like they really care about the kids health and how they treat them especially about cavities and if they're special needs. Every time my kids have a bad looking cavity they just say we will keep an eye on it ..instead of just taking care of it before it really becomes a problem and just filling it. 2013....I love this place. They will try to pressure you to leave your child alone with them even for extreme procedures that are hard for adults so noone can see how rough, fast, and Quadruple Booked They are. They are so awesome with the kids. They also have excellent/convenient covid protocols that make me feel safe sending my babies in. They're always very thorough, on time, and crazy fast with the appointments. I can't say enough good things. We waited until our kiddos were a little older to take them to a dentist, just to ensure they could communicate any wrong doings and weren't traumatized, and we were careful about choosing a dentist.... Friendly staff prompt service. My son enjoys going to play with the video games. The restroom could use some attention some cleaning and an airfreshener perhaps!!

This office is always very clean and kept in very good condition. The staff is kind and patient. My only complaint is their policy of having children go in alone and parents wait in the car. My kids are very young and certainly not ages where I’m sending them in places alone, period, especially when they are nervous already. This was an unpleasant surprise on our first visit. Apparently it’s not even due to covid, but to “encourage and foster independence”. That’s my job as a parent, not the job of an office staff who sees my children a few times a year. I was able to get my daughter in with a private room for a more in depth appt that she was very nervous about, so I very much appreciate their working with us to make that happen. We have been coming here for years my girls love it here, even after one of them was hospitalized she was terrified but one of the ladies there was awesome with her super sweet and calmed her down we appreciate you guys so much.

First time ever being here I already did not have a good experience walking in the door ladies at the front desk were very rude especially when I called and asked for appointment time as well was very rude on the phone I haven't met doctors or anything yet but hopefully my experience with them are better than experience when walking in the door!!! I used to recommend this office. I no longer do. Dr. Verwest used to be my pediatric dentist when I was growing up but now I do not even want to take my kids anymore.

My 5 year old who is autistic was seen by Dr. Ross who was very pleasant at the time of the visit. My son was diagnosed with 4 cavities and referred to be sedated at another facility NCEF. The wait time for an appointment is 10 months to 2 years. Although they received funding for autism cases. I then tried contacting Tampa and still no resolve as I’ve left numerous messages and no call back. So I’ve conveyed this issue to Dr. Verwest office and have been met with the same disregard. No help call insurance. No help call Tampa. This is so heart breaking to know that a child let alone a child with autism is being denied care. I would never allow a child to suffer silently. I hope this makes waves and parents stray from allowing your children to be mistreated by this office.
