Dr. Tiffany Beckman

Dr Beckman was so incredibly rude when I met her. Degrading and overbearing. I don't recommend her and her horrible bedside manner

Went in to follow up on diabetes prevention because my regular provider had left the clinic. Dr. Beckman advised a 1000 calorie diet with shake meal replacement to 'lose 1 pound a week', with no medical monitoring or follow-up advised. I know enough to understand that this is an extreme diet and medically dangerous advice for most adults, but I am afraid for the folks who might trust her as an expert. Her mannerisms were also bizarre; I asked about a medication's side effects and she said something about her autistic and mentally incapacitated patients not being able to convey side effect symptoms to her -- I don't have autism or a mental disability. She also began speaking in medical jargon with no real point to make, it seems, just to show off the terminology...no lay person would understand it. She also began commenting on medical issues outside of her purview, that I didn't ask about and that she had not reviewed information about. I don't feel like she listened to what I was saying. And she was late to the appointment but right at the 20 minute mark looked at her watch and told me that she needed to leave for another patient. I have chronic health issues so I've had a lot of experiences with good and bad providers -- Dr. Beckman is very far to the 'bad' side. Overall, I do not have any trust in this provider, I do not think she should be employed at the University, and I will be searching for my previous provider who had left the University for another clinic.

Warning! Find a different endocrinologist! As others have stated, she’s awful. If you enjoy being belittled and talked to in a condescending manner, then you’re in for a real treat with this one. She DOES NOT listen to you and constantly talks over you, so good luck trying to finish a sentence or get anything through to her. She raises her voice and yells at you, suggests you need psychiatric care, then talks about how amazing she is. She’s beyond unprofessional and I cannot believe she is employed as an endocrinologist. Her inability to let go of her ego is insane. She’s also out of the office very often (for 1 week +), so it’s difficult to get any response from her to begin with. She rushes appointments and just generally does not care about you at all. Horrible person. I wish her explosive diarrhea at the most inopportune moment.

Does not listen to you at all, constantly talks over you, doesn’t give actual answers, raises her voice at you, belittles you and us condescending, misleads you, rushes appointments. Your symptoms do not matter to her. 0/10 recommended.

For all the same reasons already stated by others, find a different doctor.

Dr. Beckman is very rude and like to do test that are not necessary. She is very unprofessional. She is unethical in some of her ways. She likes to talk about herself and not the patient. She should not be a doctor.

I saw this doctor because my internist referred me to the U of MN for a special test that he couldn't perform. First, I had to see an intern, who was nice and took my basic information. Then she went and got Dr. Beckman. She was rude right from the minute she walked in the room. She refused to shake hands because she was afraid she would get the flu. (Guess she would rather come off looking like a fool than use hand sanitizer.) Then she tried to imply that all my problems were psychological. 'Those symptoms are usually caused by stress. Have you ever seen a psychiatrist?' (I've had thyroid problems for years.) Then she criticized my internist and said she didn't know why he would want that test. She insisted on running all the same tests he had just run on me, even though she had copies of all his reports. She was actually snippy like a sarcastic 14 year old. She said SHE would be the one to decide if I needed any more tests. Then the nurse called me back after running all those expensive tests and said that my doctor's findings were accurate, but Dr. Beckman still didn't think I needed that test. I called my internist, and he referred me to another endocrinology clinic. That doctor was so kind and ran the test my physician wanted. It turned out I had some adrenal gland problems too, just like my internist thought. Now, I'm on an additional med and feel so much better. That was the first time I ever saw a lady physician. I would not recommend her to anyone, and I won't see a lady doctor again. She is so busy trying to prove herself that she doesn't realize how cold, rude, and snippy she comes off. You would expect a lady doctor to be caring, nurturing, and sensitive. Wrong! I think Dr. Beckman should be!
