Dr. Shands is the nicest doctor I've met in many many years. He takes time to talk to you and address your issues. He is a spunky fellow and seems to really love his work, always in a great mood. He's one of the old school doctors, who's not afraid to touch you to examine you, and takes time to get to know you. We need more doctors like Dr. Shands! Most doctors nowadays seem like there afraid to touch you, and they really dont listen to what you have to say! I had recently moved to New Albany Mississippi from Ky and had no insurance and had to have my pain management meds and I had no dr so I went for a referral and he was able to help me until I got into my new pain management drs. He took time to get to know me as a human instead of someone that was going to be right in and out. He made me feel VERY welcomed and secure in my decision to have him as my new general dr. I had the same dr my entire life as a general dr. Absolutely love him and canât thank him enough for making me feel welcomed and for being understanding my special needs
