Thomas J Romano

My complaint isn't about Dr. Romano. He is professional, with a good sense of humor, which makes having this ghastly procedure a bit less horrendous. My complaint is about the wait time to get the procedure done. I was told to arrive a half hour early for my 11 a.m. appointment, which I did. I wasn't called in to the changing/vitals room until after noon. Consider that my appointment was on a Monday. I had to do the cleanse on Sunday, so the last time I'd eaten anything was midnight Saturday. By noon on Monday, I was past being hungry They use propofol for the procedure, so one minute I was saying hello to the doctor and the next I was awake in recovery. That was the easy part. I was home by 2 with no issues. I realize that things happen and schedules get backed up. That's to be expected, but a 90 minute wait is ridiculous. Fortunately, I won't have to go through this again for at least seven years - maybe 10.

I have been with DR. Romano for 30 years. I haven't seen him a lot (every 3 to 5 years). Dr. Romano has a great bedside manner. He has a great sense of humor. Dr Romana is a good guy, I need to have an endoscopic procedure done every couple of months, Not a single problem, We laugh and joke as the anesthesiologist is getting ready to put me under.

Worst experience of my life

Worst experience of my life. Woke up in middle of procedure. Failed to retrieve my stuck gallstone which complicated surgery. Did not want to discuss my health only wanted to talk golf with my husband. This guy is dangerous.

I went for a colonoscopy and they almost killed me I stopped breathing and was out for three days ...procedure was on Thursday and I finally woke up Saturday I have no memory of anything between Thursday n Saturday when I woke up in the hospital. They didn’t tell the person waiting for me what happened until I was in the ambulance on my way to the hospital then they decided to tell him I stopped breathing this is the worst experience I’ve ever had. I have had a lot of surgeries n nothing ever ended like this with three days total memory loss run for your life before you let them to anything to you. Unless you just want to die!!!! Nice staff and dr

Terrible experience!! Waiting forever in pain with no compassion. Male nurse touched surgical equipment after leaving and coming back with no hand washing. Dr Romano missed gallstone. Not enough anesthesia. This doctor is about the cash.

Dr. Romano’s nurse, ‘Lisa’ (LPN) was extremely rude to me. I came there for testing, asked her a question (about the testing) & she cut me off mid sentence by saying, “all right, let’s get going here!”

Dr. Romano saved my life.. I fell very ill in 1999.. before there was much talk of celiac disease. Being Italian and 37 eating Italian food my whole life, how could I be allergic. I was 90 pounds dehydrated and malnutrition and he was able to diagnose me .. Its been 21 years and my experience with him was professional caring and spot on and I've been well ever since, Thank you Dr. ROMANO!!!

i had a referral from the emergency room. but i couldnt get past the receptionist. She was very rude and treated me like i was a junkie or some other second class citizen. By far the worst medical office I have ever been to. Completely unprofessional, unorganized the staff except for a small handful are beyond rude. Impossible to speak to anyone on the phone. And as for the medical care, this place should be closed.

Bad experience...you are run through like an assembly line...took over 1.5 hours in waiting room for my follow-up appointment. No time given to really help you solve your issues, this place is simply going for QUANTITY, not QUALITY.

Dr Thomas ramono is a Joke! I saw this man for over a year with major issues and he did nothing at all for me! Maybe it is my insurance not being the best but I deserve to be treated for my illnesses just like the next. Not questioned on where I am working.. and told we’ll take a look in a few months. Instead this doctor drags me along for a year not running tests on my new symptoms but instead prescribing me more pills!! Because if he read my chart he would know that I can’t process medications well due to Gastroparesis (diagnoses by a previous doctor, bc y’all know he didn’t figure this one out on his own) A year passes and he just decides to shout at me in the room... right in front of his ????‍⚕️ nurse.. the look on her face smh The following month after my appointment I had to go back to urgent care numerous times to receive an iv bag because I was so dehydrated from the stomach issues iv had for so long! Great bedside manner before my first colonoscopy! This helped reassure me about having this done! Kudos to your staff, doc!

The staff and Doctor was very nice to me. I didn't understand everything and they explained my condition and gave me good advice to help me with my symptoms. thank you for helping me.

Dr Romano is a very educated doctor and truly relays positive health information to serve his patients. I would totally recommend doctor Romano to anybody that needs a specialist for Gastroenterology or Hepatology. He has a wonderful sense of humor and takes care of his patients needs. KUDOS

Wonderful Medical Practice! Doctor Romano is Great. This is a great medical facility. The Staff and Nurses are wonderful, the procedure and recovery rooms are very comfortable. Excellent and Highly Recommended.

Thank You Dr. Romano for your great Care of my Mom. It is hard to go through Cancer and you and your office made the whole experience easier for us. I know the office is a very busy practice but they made the time for us when we needed them. I recommend this Practice Highly.

The good doctor perforated my colon in two places. The pain was unbearable. It was worst than giving birth. I lost just over a month of my life between hospitals and re-habs. The doctor never even checked on me to see how I was doing. He should have to pay me for pain and suffering . I wouldn't recommend him to anyone.

Never here back about anything for as your appointment. Vary long wait. But he is vary nice doctor and his staff members.

I am not a happy person. I saw one of his R.N.'s last week because I had a problem that caused me a lot of discomfort for 2-3 weeks. I saw her when the problem was almost resolved (I know, too late). She told me if problem returned to call as she said they had something that would relieve the discomfort. I called today. I don't know how many people I talked to; EACH ONE asked me what my problem was and said they would get back to me. What a laugh. It is almost 7:30 pm and never heard from them. I am an RN. I know professional and personally the ins and outs of the medical field. I had concerns regarding my personal health. My teenage son was diagnosed with cancer because of similar symptoms I have been experiencing. I had tests done 3 weeks ago and have called the office numerous times for my results. I got the same answer each time, "a nurse cannot review your results because a doctor has not reviewed your results yet." 3 weeks since I have had these tests completed and an MD has not reviewed the results!?!? That is a joke! Never have I worked anywhere with that type of carelessness and disregard for your patients! I finally recieved a call this evening at 5:50pm (AFTER HOURS) A voicemail was left for me to call back. I call back (at 05:55pm) and the answering service answers, they tell me they can only give a message for someone at the office to call me back tomorrow. Why would you call your patients after hours and request them to call you back if you are not there to answer? If I could give you zero stars I would. I am sad every day in this line of work because of medical staff like you that have lost the ability to care, to understand and to be compassionate towards the people they are supposed to be helping. I have seen Dr. Romano for many years and now see his son Mathew as my P.A....I sincerely can't think of anything negative about either one. Both are professional and caring and make me feel at ease. I trust them both with my health care 100%. I wouldn't even consider another doctor. Now many of my friends and family go to them and think as highly of them as I do ! I have been a patient with Dr. Romano for 20 years. He is a warm, friendly, thorough and respectable Doctor. I have never had a problem with any part of his practice.

Appointments are never on time and always running way behind schedule. Past experience 6+ visits average wait is between 45 min and 1.5+ hours before you even get into a room to be seen my a nurse not to mention the Doctor or PA. The office needs much better time management and to respect patients precious time.

My experience with Dr Romano was the best experience ever. I was greeted first thing at the front desk window with a smile, then they were super helpful and knowledgable. Then I was checked. Into the room by the medical assistant, fast but very thorough. After that Dr Romano came in to the room with a big smile. He was great for the fact that he listened to everything I had. Say. Never once did he interrupt me or try to assume a diagnosis. In the end, I would recommend Dr Romano to everyone.

My appt was over 2 years ago, saw Dr. Romano once after having severe diverticulitis for the first time in my life. Was diagnosed by primary care physician and treated by Primary care physician, so it had resolved by the time I saw Romano. Dr. Romano told me that the only way to ensure it didn't happen again was to have surgery to remove lower part of colon. He also had a current CT scan on me which was normal at the time. This guy was definitely NOT conservative in his treatment approach.

Have an incisional hernia that has grown larger. When I first saw him following my surgery, he told me not to get it fixed. On the second visit a few years later, It has grown rather large and I asked him if I should be concerned. He told I need to loose weight! Seeeing another doctor.

He watched as my health declined (liver cirrhosis ) & had no explanation as to why this was occuring (I'm in my twenties ). I had to get answers from a different specialist, in a completely different area of specialty. I would not recommend my worst enemy to him.
