Dr. Thomas Phelps

The absolute best doctor ever!

Dr. Thomas Phelps is an amazing individual and incredibly talented and dedicated Pediatrician! My son was actually born in Columbus at a renowned hospital. We saw Dr. Phelps only days after discharge from this hospital and Dr. Phelps detected a heart ?? murmur that hadn’t been detected, and literally saved our son’s life! He has been an absolutely wonderful Physician over the past nine years, and we regard him highly and recommend him to all of our friends and colleagues. Dr. Helps is truly “old school”, unfortunately a dying breed these days. He takes as much time as it takes to listen, examine and explain. We NEVER feel rushed and he also takes a personal interest in our child and when we see him out in public, he greets us with a warm hello, and we all adore him. I’d give Dr. Phelps 10 stars if I could. As a Physician myself, care as wonderful as Dr. Phelp’s should be emulated by all!!!!

Dr. Phelps and his fellow doctors have always been kind, patient and informative. Dr. Phelps always calls to follow up on any concerns we've had even if the appointment was with a specialist and he was faxed over details. Dr. Phelps is everything I could ask for in a doctor.

Excellent pediatrician really listens to parents and partners with for the best interest of their child. It is rare now a days to have a Dr that truly listens, has compassion, and involves the parents in the treatment and care of the child. He truly is an amazing person!

My daughter was very ill with the fly/virus in January 2015. We visited the office and everyone was very helpful. A quick strep was done in the office and was negative. Lab work was completed: CBC, strep test and Vitamin D level. Here is what the Cleveland Clinic charged me for these tests: $604.00. The Vitamin D level was $363.00 and the Strep test was $241.00! These fees are criminal! Yes, my insurance covered some of the cost, but had I known the cost I would have certainly nixed the strep test (especially since the quick test in office was negative) and the Vit. D level. Although these care givers do not set the pricing of lab services, I feel that they should have an idea of the costs and pass this on to consumers who can then make a more informed decision as to the necessity of these tests.
