Dr. Thomas L Mehlhoff

Called on Tuesday received an appointment on Thursday with surgery on Monday. I had pulled my tendon from the bone in my pinky. I did not realize the utter importance of such a loss until I had no use. Dr. Mehloff saved my finger. Nurses before surgery spoke if his excellence and that he was requested by other surgeons for their own injuries. I was blessed to get him. A man of rare qualities showing extreme attention to detail such as rehabilitation of a little finger and follow ups. Very devoted to his patients and to his skill.

Calling for the appointment was immediately responsive. I called on Monday. Appointment on Wednesday afternoon. Cancellation and they took me on Tuesday morning. Checkin was quick and was called back on time. Everyone was courteous and professional. He looked at the X-rays I brought and explained the problem. I was out of the cast and fitted with a brace. Very comfortable. Helen booked my 3 week follow up and we were on our way. Very satisfied.

Dr. Melhoff is a true professional. He is a fantastic doctor but he is humble and seems to have a servants heart. While I wish I did not need his services, I can’t think of anyone else that I would rather have taking care of my issues.

Dr. Mehlhoff is an incredible doctor. I appreciate his gentle yes confident treat for my thumb and his staff is very supportive! I am so glad that he was recommended to me and I chose to let him care for me. I am looking forward to him helping me with my future treatment.

Dr Mehlhoff has been a pleasure to deal with in treating my hand issues. I appreciate his conservative approach to treatment. He’s not a surgeon that immediately wants to rush you into surgery. His calm manner is very reassuring and he has been patiently answering my many questions! He is also is very accessible if you have questions later, gives you direct phone numbers and email address to contact him. In addition his office staff is delightful to work with and very accommodating.

Dr. Thomas Mehlhoff provided me with exactly the information I needed relative to surgery and after care. He was very informative, including illustrations, concerning specifically how the hands and arms function and interact with one another.

Dr Mehlhoff is the most caring doctor I’ve ever been to and he has the best bedside manner. I had surgery about 18 years ago and have had no problems since. I recently had surgery for another issue with good results again. Also 5 stars to his nurses Kim and Helen. They treat you like family.

The entire staff is very friendly and they explain each and every step of what they're doing...I felt very comfortable in their Care.

The staff was polite and punctual, Dr.Mehlhoff was very knowledgeable with my condition and explained the up coming procedure he recommended to solve my issue.

Dr. Melhoff and his entire clinical team are second to none. I felt respected from the first phone call for my initial appointment to surgery and beyond through recovery. Dr. Melhoff's clinical team are so kind, efficient, resourceful and attentive. They made me feel like caring for me was their #1 priority. Dr. Melhoff's care and attention surpasses that of any doctor I've ever seen in my 55 years. I felt so safe in his care, and the results of my hand surgery are amazing. Dr. Melhoff delivered 100% what he indicated the surgery and recovery would entail. I am pain-free and have recommended my mother to him for the same surgery. In the course of my recovery from hand surgery, I asked Dr. Melhoff about a painful shoulder issue. He was able to treat that issue and didn't make me wait to set a separate appointment. I am now fully recovered from frozen shoulder, as well, and without surgical intervention. I am so grateful for Dr. Melhoff. I trust him and I highly recommend him!

Dr. Mehloff performed surgery on my broken wrist. He did a superb job! He is kind and caring and his staff was wonderful as well. I’m an artist and since I broke my dominant wrist, I was concerned about getting back to normal. My wrist has healed beautifully and I’m back to painting as usual. I’m so thankful for Dr.Mehloff and his great staff.

Dr. Mehlhoff did an amazing job repairing torn ligaments and tendons in my elbow and put me on a recovery regimen that allowed me to return to work 100% able to resume my duties as a wrecker driver and mechanic.

Dr Mehlhoff has a very gentle and friendly demeanor, which I really appreciate. He seems to really know what he’s doing too, and helped me have a lot more clarity with the issues going on with my hand.

Saw Dr. Mehlhoff for tingling in both hands which was awakening me at night. After nerve testing confirmed I needed carpel and ulna tunnel repairs bilaterally, the procedures were scheduled. 1st surgery (left side) went very well and Dr. Mehlhoff worked with me and scheduled and performed the 2nd surgery (right side) three weeks later (my request to move up). I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Recovery went very well, and I have returned to normal activities. I am now able to sleep all night with awakening. I am a very active individual, playing golf every day I'm not at my farm. It is evident that the staff for Dr. Mehlhoff share his compassion for his patients. Thank you Dr. Mehlhoff for improving my quality of life. I'd give you ten stars if it was an option.

As a retired R. N. , I research and choose my physicians carefully. My previous Hand Specialist retired and I am so pleased to have Dr. Mehlhoff. He recently did my trigger finger release and I have nothing but praises for him and his awesome staff. No complications with great results. At my post-op visit today, I received detailed instructions on tendon gliding exercises to perform for my post- op course. Such a gentle and kind doctor!

Dr. Mehlhoff performed surgery to repair my torn distal biceps tendon. I am recovering well and am very happy with the results. Dr. Mehlhoff has provided clear instructions on the process and what is required of me. He is very professional while displaying a real concern for my condition and my comfort. I was referred to Dr. Mehlhoff from a friend who went to him for Carpal Tunnel Surgery(CTS) and that was the best decision I made to get my CTS addressed by him. I was having trouble sleeping and he was able to address both hands in a timely manner and it has made the world of difference. I was referred to see Dr. Mehlhoff, Fondren Orthopedic Group, for my wrist that continually ached and burned. His specialty is hand and upper extreme surgery. He was very kind, and he focused on my wrist without interruption; I was pleased with his practical advice for treatment. I followed his advice, and my wrist healed. Everyone on his staff and in the orthopedic department were friendly and helpful. He will be my first choice if I ever have hand problems again.

Did surgery for Dupuytren. Mine was pretty bad and he did a remarkable job! Explained every thing before and after surgery clearly. His caring manner with patients is a breath of fresh air! Will be going back for surgery on other hand later this year. Would highly recommend Dr. Mehlhoff!

After two failed wrist surgeries, Dr. Mehlhoff performed surgery to correct the problem left by the other surgeries. It made a big improvement. He explains in detail what he will do. Dr. Mehlhoff did surgery to repair my arm, which I broke just above the wrist. Dr. Mehlhoff explained everything to me very well and answered all my questions along the way. He is also compassionate, and I believe he did everything he could to make me as comfortable as possible during every step (pre-surgery, surgery & recovery). My arm is doing well, and I am very satisfied with the outcome. I also appreciate that Dr. Mehlhoff's staff is easy to communicate with and very helpful. The Texas Orthopedic Hospital, where I had the surgery, was very comfortable, and the staff was very attentive. Dr. Mehlhoff also did surgery on my husband's hand a few years ago and was satisfied as well.

This was the second surgery for Dupuytrens Contracture that Dr Mehlhoff has performed on me. The first was 11 years ago. He was excellent with that one. When the condition reappeared in my other hand, he was my choice of surgeons to go to. He is a very talented surgeon. His patient interaction skills are quite good - explains things in a clear way and listens to your questions and concerns. Never in a hurry. He takes the time to make you feel comfortable with what is going on. I highly recommend him.

The doctor was extremely meticulous in the examination, gave me a detailed diagnosis, review my file to give adecuate treatment and took the time to explain the exercises I needed to do. Besides, the staff was very efficient, and the waiting time was minimum. Highly recommended

I am very happy after my visit with Dr Mehlholff. He was very thorough explaining every detail of my situation, causes, treatment options, and follow up. the next day I had some questions, emailed Kim and she replied within minutes.

My surgery went well. The visits to the office have been very good, professional and on time.

Dr. Mehlhoff operated on my 'trigger thumb" in January. Everything about my experience was wonderful. Texas Orthopedic Hospital is a great place, very efficient and friendly and competent staff. Dr. Mehlhoff is very soft spoken and calm as well as expert. I cannot recommend him and his facility more highly.

My initial visit for carpel tunnel surgery was excellent. He is very objective, patient, and answers all questions. If you're looking for an Orthopedic surgeon for your hand and upper extremities Dr. Mehlhoff is the best. I have had two surgeries on my hands (one on right and the other on the left) and have had excellent results. He diagnosis the problem and is excellent at explaining the issues and options. His staff is very nice and the Texas Orthopedic Hospital is terrific. I highly recommend him.

I fell and hurt my hand. Dr. Melhoff took x-rays and cast my arm and wrist. 6 weeks later I’m fine.

Dr. Mehlhoff did my carpal tunnel surgery several years ago, and he did my rotator tendon cuff surgery a few years ago. He is an awesome doctor!! Don't think you could find a better hand/wrist/arm/shoulder doctor anywhere!!!

Broken left arm. Dr. Mehlhoff was highly recommended and did not disappoint. I was treated like a member of his own family. My treatment was conservative and aimed at maximum use of my arm long term.

Dr. Melhoff removed the Dupuytren’s Contractures in the fingers on my right hand and literally gave me back complete use of my hand. He has performed several other surgeries on my hands, and each time, I have been completely pleased with his skill, care, and the thoroughness of his explanations. This was my second carpal tunnel release surgery with Dr. Mehlhoff and it was GREAT !!! No postoperative pain to speak of and my aching, tingling and numbness is GONE !!! TOH staff and Mehlhoff's office staff are top notch and took great care of me !

It’s been many years since I went to Dr Mehlhoff and was reminded today when a friend had a similar injury of their hand. I was set at ease my the doctor on first visit and he repaired what an emergency room doctor had messed up. I’m very grateful for the excellent treatment I received.
