We have been with Dr. McKenny's for years now, and every time we visit we feel that they are doing a good job to help us maintain healthy teeth and gums. The staff are awesome! G.H.

I love this dental practice. They do a great job, are accommodating and aren't continually trying to practice "add-on dentistry". Dr. McKenny is friendly, good natured, and explains procedures in a very non-threatening manner. His hygienists and chair side assistants are top notch and gentle. I always leave thinking I had a pleasant time and usually some laughs. What more can you ask of a dentist?

I've been coming to Thomas McKenny for 13 years. I had a lot of initial work done, and I've had no cavities since. They're professional, friendly and great views out their windows. You can tell they care. I highly recommend them!

A friend recommended this practice after I expressed having dental anxiety. They've always taken great care of my teeth and my anxieties, asking for feedback about my comfort levels during cleanings and procedures regularly, explaining procedures and advising of unexpected noises or sensations more than any other dentist I've ever visited. This place is a fraud! They change the insurance partnership and don’t inform you until you are done with the service then hit you with a big fat bill. Stay away!

I asked if they took Delta Dental and they said they did. What I meant is if Delta Dental would cover my routine visit at their establishment. What they meant is they would try to bill Delta and have me foot the rest of the bill. $400 for a routine preventative care visit that should have costed me a small copay. At no point did they warn me they would be charging me this much or that my insurance wouldn't cover it. I guess I am an adult and should have double checked that they were in the plan and not take their word for it when I called. Thanks for teaching me a good lesson not to trust my dental provider to be honest and double check everything myself. I guess the lesson could have been more expensive, so thanks for not doubling down and charging me $1000 for a preventative care visit. Lesson to others is to not trust the office to give you accurate details if your covered cause they obviously don't mind burning visitors, always check with your insurance website if they are within your plan. I had a positive experience during the several years that I was a patient here, which unfortunately ended on a bad note when I was surprised by a very large bill after my last routine checkup/cleaning. When I called Dr. McKenny's office for clarification, I was told they had moved out of network for my insurance provider this summer, and that I should have received notification in the mail (I had not). I was disappointed that I had not been notified via email as a follow up (especially since most all communication with the office to that point was via email), or at least reminded verbally when I arrived for what turned out to be that very expensive check up. Got my teeth cleaned here and they are very nice. The price for dental work without insurance is very reasonable.

I've been going here for a year and can't say enough good things. They do thorough exams and lots of other tests to make sure everything is healthy. They are also extremely helpful and professional.

I had a belief that these clinics and the dentist only try to fool their clients but I was proved wrong when I went to this clinic and the dentist gave me an amazing treatment at an affordable fees. I will definitely recommend him to everyone.

I tried TWO different dentists when my husband and I moved to Gig Harbor, after being patients of Dr.McKenny’s for the two previous years. Guess what? We are back coming to Dr. McKenny in Seattle. Speaking for myself, his office and it’s staff is up-to-date on the latest technology to make my dental procedures easier to tolerate and I have a more positive experience. He and his staff communicate well and if we need extra dental work, we get a written estimate before leaving the office! Who can beat that? I have been visiting Dr. McKenny's for around an year. My low rating information is mainly due to deceiving information provided by staff. My dental hygienist has been very good and have no complaints against her. Before getting any treatment I confirm multiple times with people at front desk and care provider if my treatment is covered. So I was very surprised when I received a bill of 100 dollars. I could not recall any treatment being not covered as before every sitting I confirm that treatment they are providing will be covered or not. I called their office to explain what the changes were. The person who took my call told me that it was for a dental filling I had and insurance covers only 80%. That seemed suspicious as my insurance covers fillings at 90% of cost. Due to this I asked her to look more closely as this does not seem right. Then she switched to a different reason. That my insurance period is from March to March. I am allowed 2 cleanings per that period. However typical insurance period is Jan to Jan. Due to the variation in period, one is dental cleanings I had is not covered. I thought OK possibly this happened. I explained her that before each treatment I confirmed with both the front desk and my hygienist is the treatment is covered and they had confirmed that it is covered. Because it's their mistake and they provided wrong information I should not be responsible. I requested to speak to Dr. McKenny but was denied. I asked to follow up this with Dr. McKenny. Later in evening I get a voice mail from her. This time she shifted to a different reason now. It had nothing to do with policy period but they had performed a treatment which my insurance did not cover and they had confirmed me that insurance covers that. I see multiple issues here. First of all they provide deceiving information to patients regarding coverage and later put all responsibility to patient. Secondly when I enquiried them to explain the charges they changed their reason thrice. This shows that staff hired by them is not competent and makes stories on the fly. I had a bit of an urgent dental situation and I was nervous. They fit me in right away and was able to take care of it in a couple of hours. I came back the next day for a follow up and cleaning. I’m so grateful to their whole staff!

I really enjoy coming here. My hygienist is really gentle, informative and fun. I only go to health care practioners that engage in on going education and training. Been here a few times now, and every time I had a wonderful experience. From the friendly staff at the front desk and the short wait time, to the fantastic nurses and doctors. I'm very happy I have found a dentist that is so thorough and great!

EVERYONE GO TO THIS DENTIST! From Dr. McKenny to his team and staff, they are the best in Seattle. They are professional, patient, observant, cautious, kind, caring and so much more. Dr. Sirisha is my dentist and she did such a thorough job on my check up that she found a patch on my tongue that I would have never found. I got referred to a specialist and luckily it was benign. Without her, who knows what would have happened. And Stephanie is the BEST hygienist ever! I had braces removed and she made sure that ever bit of glue was removed and cleared. Angela is the best patient coordinator. She doesn't rush you if you have to figure out appointment times and she provides accurate billing information without any worry. Everyone on the team is absolutely amazing and I am always comfortable asking as many questions as I want without feeling rushed or like I was annoying them. Dr. McKenny's office has the most amazing, polite, and helpful staff! I was having incredibly bad tooth pain and they found a way to fit me into the schedule the same day. Cathy at the front desk is a goddess!!! My appointment went smoothly, they handled getting the dental insurance information for the estimates, and they even called the orthodontist (to which I was referred) to make my appointment. Somehow they even got an appointment for an emergency procedure (to help with the pain) the SAME DAY. They could see I was in a lot of pain and I can't believe the level of service, hospitality, and kindness they showed me. Totally inexcusable experience today. Very impersonal and uncaring. I have been going there for two years now. I went in for a cleaning today and the office manager after all this time still did not know who I am. I got yet another new hygienist to clean my teeth again today and it felt like a jackhammer was used in my mouth. Dr McKenny hasn't made time to say hi to me the last two times I have gone in and again today. I got pawned off to the new employee dentist. She was inpersonal and unfriendly. UPDATED: The team at Dr. McKenny's office reached out to me after my experience, and, after some prodding, convinced me to return for at least the cleaning. I returned, and the experience was very positive. I was also assured that I would not have to deal with Alex during my visits, and this proved to be the case. Dr. Sirisha personally checked in after my cleaning, apologized for the to-do, and answered all of my questions. She's pretty awesome. Also, that is not her last name (which I later learned, much to my chagrin). Misty is an excellent hygienist, and I have already scheduled my next cleaning with her. After some back and forth via e-mail to get my appointments scheduled, I was informed on my way out that my second appointment was no longer available, despite having already booked it. Alex "apologized" by asking if I could come in another time. I told her that we had already confirmed the second appointment. When she finally found the e-mail confirming my understanding, she "apologized" again, but said she couldn't do anything about it. I told her that she needed to call the currently-booked patient and let her know that the appointment was unavailable. I understand people make mistakes, but not owning up to it, and then being unwilling to fix the mistake (presumably because it would make her look bad) is unacceptable. She also had to double-check my insurance information, despite having had it in hand for several days, then realized she got the name wrong on my oral surgery referral form, as well. It's clear that she doesn't know what she's doing, and if I didn't have to deal with her at all, I would definitely come back to this office. Just had a cleaning with Zuzana: she is the anti-plaque super hero! I have had regular cleanings three times a year for longer than I can remember. I am not the easiest patient at the dentist. My oral hygiene and my teeth are important to me, so I take it seriously. However, it's still hard for me to sit in the chair. Wow! I chipped my tooth in the morning, put a phone call into the office just before lunch, the friendly office staff got back to me right away and had me come in right after lunch to see if Dr. McKenny could squeeze me in in-between patients. After I got there I waited 5 mins before they were able to work me in and 30 mins later I walked out of the office with my smile as good as new! I've always encountered friendly staff at my routine visits. Recently my hygienist found a slight chip in a tooth which was subtle and hard to spot, but thankfully she did. Dr. McKenny was quick and efficient to fix it up asap. Never had any complaints there!

How weird to feel comfortable about a dental visit but that's how I feel about Dr. McKenny and his staff. I think the best compliment is that I trust Dr.McKenny absolutely. I've only gone to McKenny's office 2 times now, but they do a great job at making things quick and easy. This is great because my appointments have been in the middle of the work day. The staff and Dr. Mckenny himself are very friendly. Would be 5 stars but it's unfortunate that there is no easy way to park.

Very organized practice with modern equipment. All staff I interacted with were friendly and efficient. Appointment started promptly at the time scheduled. I will be returning and would highly recommend this office to anyone looking for a dentist.

I've had a great experience with Dr. McKenny and his staff each time I've been in their office for a visit. They've squeezed me in for an emergency appointment and made my routine appointments quick, painless, and friendly.

I can definitely recommend Dr.McKenny's dentistry! He is definitely knowledgeable, extremely qualified and trustworthy! And what I like most is that he is not trying to do fillings in all my teeth or replace existing (like my previous dentist) just because they were made by other doctor.

I've been looking for a new dentist downtown for a few months now and I'm glad I stumbled upon this practice. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and the offices are well appointed. My initial exam was very thorough and left me feeling like I'm in good hands.

I've been seeing Stephanie (my hygienist) and Dr McKenny for close to three years now and I absolutely love them! I've recommended them to my entire office and close friends. They're organized, they don't recommend any unnecessary work, and do a great job every time.
