Dr. Heffron is absolutely great.

Dr. Hefron is an amazing physician. He goes above and beyond to make his patients feel heard. I wish more doctors were like him, he is knowledgeable and courteous. I recommend him if you need surgery.

Dr Heffron performed a liver transplant for Alpha 1 deficiency in 2002-yes, 17 years ago. Recovery was lengthy and difficult but Dr Heffron and his team have been with me all the way. Without his skill and dedication the results and longevity would have been questionable.

Hello, Dr. Heffron gets all 5 stars available. I was diagnosed with a cancerous liver tumor in June of 2017. Dr. Heffron removed the tumor in mid August and sent me back on the road of life. His staff is wonderful, his bedside manner is fun, and his surgical skills are unquestionably top notch. I was diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma in July of 2017. Within a week or two, I had found and made contact with Dr. Heffron. He was very informative and discussed treatment and surgery. By mid- August, Dr Heffron had performed the resection of the tumor and I recovered very quickly. I owe this to Dr. Heffron's skill as a surgeon. Besides his surgical skills, Dr. H. provided the reassurance that helped me through this difficult time and was always willing to give me as much time as I need

Absolutely Gifted hands! Grateful for his personable manner and I felt confident from first consult!! I came with cancer and eventually went home without the cancer!!!

Dr. Heffron and his team saved my life. A few months ago I was on death's door suffering from acute liver failure which came upon me suddenly. My brain began to swell, I became unconscious and was intubated. My family had flown in from New Jersey (mostly unknown to me!) and the next thing I knew I was waking up in ICU five days later having had a liver transplant! Dr. Heffron's expertise and caring nature is remarkable.....there aren't even enough words to describe how fortunate I was to have been sent to him except maybe to say how fortunate we are to have someone like Dr. Heffron in our world. It has been four months and I'm doing extremely well thanks to Dr. Heffron, Dr. Kulig and the entire Transplant Team. I'm even starting to sing again!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I'm writing my review of Dr. Heffron under a family members Google account, as I, for some reason, cannot access my own Google account. My name is Michelle Johnson. I had started suffering with major abdominal pain late last year and it wasn't until I had my first MRI, that the doctors noticed an anomaly attached to my liver. As it turns out it was an adenoma..."about" the size of a softball and definitely large enough to cause me constant discomfort. After months of tedious back and forth with various gastroenterologists in Colorado Springs, I was finally given the green light to go to Dr. Heffron in early April. When I met Dr. Heffron, I was instantly put at ease by his calm and endearing nature. My hepatobiliary surgery was scheduled for April 16th. On April 13th I received a call from his office informing me that due to a liver transplant, my surgery had been bumped to the following week...April 23rd. I completely understood. In the week I had to wait for my surgery I read quite a bit about Dr. Heffron online and his accomplishments in the field of medicine are exceedingly impressive. I was calmed and reassured by everything I read about him. The morning of the surgery came and I was ok...I was a little nervous, but that had nothing to do with Dr. Heffron, it had to do with the fact that I had never had such a major surgery before. I had the adenoma, my left hepatic lobe and my gallbladder removed...plus, a tiny portion of my right hepatic lobe was also removed. It's now been about one month since my surgery and I am still in pain and in the process of healing, but I'm getting better everyday. I want to give a huge shout out to the entire Porter Adventist hospital staff...from the sweet pastor that said he would pray for me to the incredibly skilled CNA's and RN's...my experience there was not nearly as scary as I thought it would be thanks to their care. I also want to thank Kelly, Dr. Heffron's assistant/receptionist, she's very skilled at what she does and she has been very kind and helpful to me the numerous times I called with questions before and after my surgery. Lastly, I cannot say enough nice things about Dr. Heffron, he is by far the kindest, funniest, most down to earth doctor that I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. He deserves the highest of praise for what he does and in my opinion, he's the epitome of a outstanding doctor. Dr Heffron performed a liver transplant on me 2+ years ago. He is top surgeon for me and gives EXCELLENT, quality care. He is there for me when I express concerns regarding my labs or any current issues. Dr. Heffron goes above his call of duty. He is the doctor of several of our friends as well, so I know he is there when they need him. He takes into consideration all my health issues when he determines a course of action.

The only reason I give 2 stars is because of Dr. Heffron, I think he is a great doctor with an endearing personality, however since my last visit the office staff had gone down hill. My original appointment was cancelled because he had a transplant (understandable). I scheduled an appointment the following day at 9am. I was never told they moved offices, so I showed up at the old office and had to call. I showed up around 5 minutes late. It seems like everyone is gone from the previous office.The front office lady only asks for my drivers license and insurance card but doesn't ask to see if ANY of my information has changed. I then sit in a room for an hour with no update of when he'll see me. I finally opened the door and the same front office lady peeks her head around the corner. I ask her when I'll be seen and tells me he's still with the same patient from BEFORE I got there. I tell her I have to leave and that my appointment was at 9am. You don't make an appointment for no reason. I get being maybe 10 minutes late, but an HOUR!! and he's still not finished! She wouldn't even go and peek in to ask how long he'll be. She then asks if she can call me later to make an appointment and I told her you didn't even ask to see if my information had changed so how can you contact me? I just left, I was so frustrated. I don't make appointments for no reason and since I'm having a reoccurance of symptoms from my last surgery a year ago, I'll find someone who will take my time into consideration and actually see me. I wish there were more than 5 stars, as Dr. Heffron would get 100 if they had it. I cannot ever thank you enough for removing 20 cysts (1 the size of a volley ball), off of my liver to help reduce my pain. You are an unbelievable, outstanding, caring, and easy going dr. As you know, I have been to MANY specialists around the US for my liver, and you surpass them all. You truly treated my family and I with extreme respect and dignity, not to mention you are extremely funny and put us at ease. I had absolutely NO reservations or nervousness the morning of the surgery. You, your entire staff at both the surg one office and transplant office, and staff at Porter Adventist Hospital (I was in ER, on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th AND ICU floors) during my stays, and THANK ALL of you SO much for everything.
