My appointment was at 1:00p.m. I was in with the dr.'s p.a. at 1:02... Took x-rays of my back gave me a shot and a script for p/t.... Absolutely 1st. Class operation... Highly recommend.

I went to this office for an evaluation from having sciatic nerve pain on my left leg and feeling discomfort. The service was horrible! The guy who never looked at me and asked me repeated questions from the medical form was having me repeat my answers. He must not like his job and lacked the service quality a person would expect. The PA ordered an X-ray in which I refused to take and I got billed for it!! This is NOT right at all and I'm trying to resolve the billing error so I can pay the correct amount. Very difficult to get through billing dept. I would not recommend this place @Desert Orthopedic Center on E. Desert Inn Road, LV.

I was very happy with my first visit compared to Stanford medical where my treatment has been they were right on point mirroring the great care I received at Stanford. Thank you Dr Dunn looking forward to meeting you in person soon. ????

Failed surgery…although there is no sure bet on back surgery I would have been okay with no result. But to still have problems with what I went in for and now problems in my back in other locations due to the surgery is unacceptable. I have had follow up care, not with Dr. Dunn, but to no avail. I deeply regret having the initial surgery and would advise seeking a second opinion.

I am very impressed with Dr Dunn. He definitely knows orthopedics. He is also very kind and spends extra time talking with patients. Being a retired hospital CEO/COO in the south for 25 years, I know what excellence in orthopedic care looks like and I'll give Dr Dunn my highest rating. I appreciate his conservative approach of trying other things before surgery. He provides treatment options. I would trust his recommendation for treatment or surgery for me or my family. If you need an ortho surgeon, or a second opinion, Dr Dunn is the surgeon to see.

He recommended that I have a ACDF on my neck when I was in no pain but I decided to go ahead with it since the injury happened over 50 years ago. Now after 2 years and 8 months ago I have a pinched nerve in the same location as the surgery, c5-7. My left arm and hand are very stiff and tingling and it inhibits my use doing ordinary daily routines, like typing this review. I would never commend this doctor for any surgery on the spine.

Dr Dunn was very patient, explaining all aspects of my back and pain management. He is incredibly insightful, providing me with valuable information and helping me understand that surgery, contrary to my first orthopedic doctor, is a last resort. My back has nothing obvious that would require surgery and Dr Dunn had set out to further diagnose my pain transference. He is truly a wonderful, patient, super knowledgeable professional that is refreshing from his contemporaries that appear scalpel happy. I highly, highly recommend Dr Dunn and thank him immensely for truly helping me.

Very professional. Extensive examination. Pleasant personality. Dr. Dunn performed an Interbody Fusion from L1- L5 in June 2019. There were no complications during the surgery. Post-Surgery I saw Dr. Dunn on only 2 visits spanning a period of 15 months. Every appointment other than those 2 visits were with Richard Mateyka, P.A.-C. Richard is a knowledgeable health provider, but he was NOT the surgeon. When I regained consciousness after the surgery, my left side from my back to below the knee was numb and was weaker than the right leg. I was told by Richard that the numbness will disappear that I was still healing from the surgery. Advance to the end of September 2020 and my left side had worsened. At this time Richard discharged me from the service and referred me to Dr. Kim the pain management specialist. I was complaining about my left side during every visit. I hadn’t seen Dr. Dunn since December 2919. I followed up with Dr. Ginsburg, a neurologist who performed an EMG. The results showed nerve damage on every level of my lumbar spine. I was seen by a Dr. Flangas, a neurosurgeon who said in his opinion the nerve damage was permanent. There was no effort made by Dr. Dunn to examine and speak with me about my continuing issue on my left side during the time I was still a patient at DOC. I am now constantly in pain and cannot walk without the assistance of a cane and need to stop and rest frequently. My quality of life now is WORSE than it was pre-surgery. I have now contacted my previous surgeon in NYC who has agreed to review my case and determine if there is anything that can possibly be done. My advice to the readers of this review. Think twice before proceeding with any surgery and get a 2nd opinion. UPDATE: The surgeon at NYU Langone Health reviewed the CAT scan that was ordered by Dr. Dunn's PA-C and saw immediately what was causing my symptoms. The fusion surgery failed. Why didn't Dr. Dunn see the problem? Maybe, he was not supervising his PA-C and never reviewed the CAT scan. Well, I am going to NYU to have surgery the end of September 2021. "Don't trust a boy with a man's work". I am the one who is suffering. I need to go to NYC to have a failed surgery repaired. I would think twice before I have surgery performed by Dr. Dunn. He only saw me twice in a 15-month post-surgical follow up. His PA-C followed up with me instead of Dr. Dunn and now I need additional surgery to be performed. Very professional. Dr. Dunn was very nice and answered all my questions.

I didn’t actually see Dr. Dunn himself, but instead dealt with Jackson, the medical assistant, and Rich, the PA. Both were friendly yet professional. Richard reviewed my x-rays with me, and explained some of the difficulties I was having. He did prescribe oral steroids which is exactly what I had hoped would happen. I have already seen a significant relief in just two days.

Dr. Dunn is very knowledgeable and he explains everything so that you can understand exactly what you need to know. He is very nice and professional and I would highly recommend him. He spends time with his patients and you can have confidence that he will give you his very best!

My experience and opinion of Dr. Dunn is mixed. During my initial visits Dr. Dunn displayed interest in my case. He reviewed the image studies (X-ray, MRI and CT Scans) with me in depth. Dr. Dunn said I had 2 options - laminectomy or fusion surgery. The issue was the extent of the surgery which comprised the entire lumbar spine. He gave me the pros and cons and left the decision to me. I elected to have the fusion surgery which was performed in June, 2019. The negative issue begins post-op. After the surgery my left leg was numb with reduced strength. I was told that it was part of the healing process and would take 6 months to fully recover. During the post-op period, I was seen my Dr. Dunn only twice in a period of 15 months. I was only seen by his physicians assistant, Richard. I saw Dr. Dunn on my 2nd visit post-op and 6 months later to tell me that one of the pedicle screws fractured. After that, I never spoke or saw him again. During this time my leg never healed.

Best experience I've had at a doctors office so far. The staff were very caring and concerned with helping me feel better. Recommending all my friends to go here.

Another ortho sent me to have degenerative disk in neck evaluated. Dr Dunn was really patient explaining my MRIs. He said it wasn't a normal disc but operating on spine has huge risk. Do not do it unless pain is unbearable. Suggested anti inflammatory diet. I could not believe it. Good advice that cost him profits....what are the chances?

You did a great job on my daughter cervical spine and lumbar spine surgeries I haven’t met him yet because I’m waiting for my test results to get to their office but I am looking forward to having him as my doctor for my cervical spine

Dr. Dunn is an excellent doctor. One of the best in his profession. It's hard to find a detailed and caring doctor these days and his accuracy is refreshing to the medical field. When I'm dealing with Dr. Dunn I know I'm receiving quality, professional and appropriate Care.

Dr. Dunn did my neck surgery and now I M pain free. Would recommend him and his staff to anyone. He is a great surgeon.

Great! Very professional & prompt!

I went with an enormously painful area in my upper hip area, I could barely walk. After the imaging I was told, thankfully, it wasn’t spinal, but an extremely strained muscle that was inflamed. I was given a shot to start, which helped immediately, then prescribed two meds to take down the swelling and remove the pain. Therapy begins in 2 weeks. Should I ever need them again, will of course return!

Very professional sincere knowledgeable honest and thorough. Showed excellent interest in my wellbeing. Did not push surgery or invasive procedures instead used very conservative approach. Would recommend Dr Dunn to others definitely.

Four stars to the PA and the PA’s assistant. I did not actually get to see Doctor Dunn. I’m guessing he is a good doctor, but I have no personal experience of that. DOC is a very large group, and they seem to have the process of seeing lots of patients as fast as possible, but that may still take more than a couple of hours. They took x-rays before recommending (in agreement with my request) to schedule an appointment with their Pain Management doctor who will, hopefully, schedule a lumbar epidural. I came to DOC on the recommendation of a friend, after going to another Pain Management group that scheduled the same procedure without confirmation of c-rays. And although I had met with the actual doctor there, I wasn’t totally comfortable with this approach.

Met with Dr. Dunn to see if any surgical procedure might reduce the pain in my lumbar spine. I'm 82 and Dr. Dunn told me no procedure would provide any pain reduction worth the risk of performing it. He spent half an hour reviewing my lower back MRI with me and showing me all the problem areas. Dr. Dunn was very compassionate with me when I realized that my active sports days were a thing of the past. I became quite emotional and Dr. Dunn spent time consoling me and giving me hope of pain relief through exercise, physical therapy and pain medications. He was very frank about narcotics and said the risks had to be weighed against the quality of my life. When I left Dr. Dunn's office I understood the destruction my back had suffered from my athletic endeavors during the past 40 years and why it was not possible to repair it. Dr. Dunn also prepared me to better discuss my pain and quality of life issue with my pain management physician.

I made my appointment online (able to fill out forms online) and was seen for sciatica evaluation. The staff were quick, concise and very pleasant. I was seen by the Physician Assistant who worked to get a more detailed evaluation through MRI. We discussed next steps and will look forward to seeing them very soon!

Cordial, human interaction, honesty .friendly, professional- Dr. Dunn treated me like I was a patient he has treated for a long time even when this was only my first visit.

Saw Dr Dunn for C-spine issues. I was able to get an appointment very quickly. He reviewed my MRI findings, gave recommendations for conservative treatment, answered all my questions, and assisted me with the documentation needed for me to return to work. I was very satisfied with the information and care received. I highly recommend Dr Dunn for your spinal care needs.

Didn't see Dr Dunn saw assistant. But he never gave me his name.. I was humiliated. Was shown a brochure and told they are a surgical place that what they did they. Why was I the if not for surgery. I never was told at what level my back was. Every time I asked a question I was told we discussed that already. But we hadn't. Only information I was able to get was from the checkout person. I still have no idea how my back is . What a horrible assistant. I feel like it was a waste of time and I still need to see a professional.
