Service from walking in door until end of appt. was excellent. Dr. Butler eased my mind that at this time I do not need surgery. I will at a later date, however, he operated 6 years ago and all was well.

I had shoulder surgery a few months ago in which Dr Butler did. There was a lot of arthritis from a car accident back in 1976. The only thing I can say is you are awake when you get the nerve block and the pain from that is so bad it makes you wonder he realizes how awful it is? I have had nerve blocks from previous surgeries and was always a sleep. I have a shoulder replacement coming up in July and if I can't have the nerve block while I'm under I'm not going to get it at all. I don't think the Dr realizes the pain? He does not believe in pain medication after surgery either. So I'm a bit concerned on this? I will ask about it in a couple of weeks. I had shoulder surgery a few months ago in which Dr Butler did. Really zero stars! After 23 years and various surgeries I was treated horribly my last 2 visits by Dr Butler. I had fallen and had injured my thumb and fractured the base of the second metacarpal and sprained my wrist and forearm (the fall caused my thumb to collapse which also caused acute carpal tunnel due to the swelling and pressure from the bone in my thumb). Dr. Butler kept looking back at the past surgeries in my chart and refused to treat me telling me that I just like surgery and he won’t be treating me and if I need surgery I can go somewhere else. He didn’t address the numbness in my thumb and pinky finger he didn’t address the swelling in my thumb (it was 4x the size of my other hand). Dr Butler used to be compassionate and understanding but a switch flipped and he was very rude, unprofessional and degrading and when I fell he refused to treat me appropriately. He told his X-RAY tech to just put me in a cast for 4 weeks I was in so much pain and it had been a month since my fall I was in tears as the cast was being molded to my swollen hand. After that appointment I went to my PCP and he immediately scheduled me with a new provider (2 weeks later) my new doctor asked why did Dr Butler cast me when clearly your thumb is injured, bruised and swollen? The new doctor removed the cast and sent me to Occupational therapy for 3 1/2 months and also ordered an ENG which was positive for Carpal Tunnel and borderline Cubital tunnel and my thumb is still swollen and painful today, because it has collapsed and is twisted and I am now scheduled to have a Carpal Tunnel release, Cubital Tunnel release and a revision surgery of my thumb reconstruction/fusion. (NOT BY DR BUTLER).

My experience was horrific! I found him arrogant, condescending, and patronizing! He treated me as if my questions were superfluous and my mental acuity was questionable. I needed rotator cuff surgery. His examination consisted of looking at my x-rays, and my age (87) which took less than five minutes. He concluded that nothing could be done. When I questioned his diagnosis, he seemed incredulous. I got the impression he thought his opinion infallible. In contrast, when I went to another orthopedic surgeon, Doctor Joel Thompson, he was the complete opposite! Not only did he assure me that my shoulder could be repaired, but he used a new orthopedic procedure. Two weeks after the operation I have regained the complete use of my arm with almost complete range of motion.

I was HIGHLY disappointed with my appointment with Dr.Butler. I was so excited to go to my appointment due to pain in my hand, wrist, and forearm as well as the high reviews and ratings he had. After a moderate wait he entered and asked what's wrong with your hand? I thought he was breaking the ice trying to be funny so I giggled and said oh you know just the pain. He wasn't joking, stern face and sat in a chair against the wall vs the chair in front of me across the table. He asked me about a previous surgery, I showed him the few spots I have pain and mentioned my profession (which I use my hands quite a bit and have done for 11 years1). He didn't ask details, didn't touch or feel my wrist, hand, or forearm and simply reiterated my age 29 and said my options are find a new profession or do exercises and cut back. He was very cold and unwelcoming and the look on his face was as if I were pretending. He went on to tell me "His hands hurt everytime he does surgery" with a shrug. Asked about cortisone shots and if they'd help, he said youre pointing all over the place so no its just sore muscles. He said he guessed he could do an xray to make sure nothing serious but the odds of him wanting to do surgery on a young 29year old was low. I opted out on spending more money to get xrays done with a Dr who couldn't care less about me or the details of my pain. He spent more time (probably about 20 min) talking about his dogs and how he grooms them himself and how they got lost. It's such a let down to have met someone who is suppose to care, listen, and take care of their patients YOUNG or OLD. I will most definitely not be back to that office and will go elsewhere where I'm welcomed, listened to and given the time of day. I was HIGHLY disappointed with my appointment with Dr.Butler. Butler did not hear when I repeatedly stated that my recurring shoulder pain was mild, only lasting one night. My medical records stated that I said my pain was severe. He said I needed immediate surgery to not lose complete use of my shoulder. He offered no alternatives. In fear, I agreed to shoulder replacement. He was only able to do hemi replacement. He told me that the surgery was completely successful. It was not. He did not tell my physical therapy provider or me that I only had hemi. The protocol for therapy for hemi replacement is much slower than for successful surgery. My therapist alerted me that something was wrong. I had to meet with another surgeon to learn the truth. A lawyer told me that I had little chance for winning in court. Buttler appears to be a narcissist who thinks he knows more than anybody else. BEWARE. Get other opinions or avoid him all together. BTW I do have a rare genetic disorder which he did not recognize. My new doctor explained my disorder to me!

Have seen Dr. Butler several times regarding the shoulder, elbow, and hand. Have gone through 2 surgeries with him and he has provided excellent results every time. Dr Butler did nerve release surgery on two nerves that are located near the elbow region. It did relieve the extreme pain I was having. Still dealing with a couple remain issues from my accident. The reason I gave him a 3 star is his does not communicate enough, very little pre-op or post op or even follow through with what issues remain.

If you're looking for preventive advice, I suggest looking elsewhere. I have occasional, mild tennis elbow symptoms from guitar playing and made an appointment to receive advice and recommendations on how to avoid the condition to get worse. Dr. Butler seemed to show very little interest in me, gave brief, spotty answers to my questions and ended the consult without a proper good-bye. Unless you're a candidate for expensive surgery, the practice makes it obvious they have no interest in you.

I wish I could actually review the doctor, unfortunately we never got beyond the front desk. I made an appointment for my daughter, I asked if my mom could bring my daughter. The lady told me yes with a note giving my mom permission to consent for my daughter. We did all the paperwork, I wrote the note, pulled my daughter out of school in Vail. My mom drove all the way to the office from Vail and was turned away without so much as an apology!!! I called left a message for the office manager with no returned phone call. All they repeated to my mom and daughter was the note wasn’t good enough and that they would reschedule. We took our needs elsewhere with someone more then happy to accept my note for my daughter to receive the care she needs. I just had some wrist work done by Dr. Butler and It was almost a pleasure to have this done by him (except for the cast I had to have on my writing-arm!). He has a delightful bedside-manner and listens to what you are telling him. He is direct about what can be done for your problem and then gives you options. He's also quite funny and makes you feel at ease. needless to say, I love him!!!

I had surgery for Dupuytren's Contracture of the hand by Dr. Butler. I suffered little if any pain during or after the surgery, and the recovery was exceptionally fast (I was typing on the computer with that hand (although slowly) the first day. On the second day, my typing was completely unencumbered after they changed to a smaller bandage. Judging by the results, I feel that Dr. Butler is an excellent surgeon, and the staff at the surgery center was also excellent.

Dr. Butler performed a sagittal band reconstruction on my left hand index finger. I'm a guitar player & thought i'd never play again. Well, it's be about a year and I'm playing again, improving my technique, reinventing my style and my overall approach to the instrument. The injury was horrible but it provided me with the experience of being operated on by a maestro!

Arrived on time but after 45 mins in crowded waiting room (no magazines to speak of, no wifi); told "next to just be put in room", then told "2 people in rooms ahead", no clear time for being seen after that; asked why not informed in advance or when checking in that MD running hours behind; no answer! As a physician myself, I know that any office that is run so poorly with little consideration of patients does not deliver adequate medical care. Trust this MD: find another physician!!
