Dr. Alberico is the best doctor I’ve seen and I’m 74 years old—I’ve seen a lot of doctors! He is simply wonderful. If you ever need an oncologist he is the one you want.

The visits are always professional and the VOA staff is the best.

Dr Alberico is very compassionate. Although very busy, I never felt rushed and he spent the time necessary to explain my treatment. Would highly recommend.

I don't know if their are words for how grateful I am to Dr. Alberico. He has a wonder manner. He always remembered me and the details of my chart. Hampton Roads is fortunate to have Dr. Alberico and his cutting edge knowledge and persistence in fighting this disease. Ever since I started going to Dr. Alberico about 18 months ago, I have felt very taken care of. My questions are always answered and my health has definitely improved.

Dr. Alberico is an angel - I swear! When I was there for my last checkup, he was actually pushing a patient in a wheelchair! He is kind, considerate, open minded and knows his stuff. Truly, someone needs to clone him because doctors are just not like that these days. I thank my lucky stars that a friend recommended him to me. He deserves more than 5 stars!

Everyone was professional

I go to Dr Alberico every 6 mos and now a year. I see him and he checks the blood results and discusses how things look.

I've been a patient of Dr. Alberico for a year and have been impressed with him, and his team's expertise and caring treatment throughout this time. I have no complaints and feel it's my responsibility to try to follow through with my own care obligations. All questions have been answered, even questions posed by accompanying relatives and/or friends during appointments. I've gone from fearing the future to having a very good quality of life. The facilities are extraordinary, adjustments to my treatment have been quickly forthcoming giving me a lot of confidence in my individual care. I've been treated with kindness, caring and competence....who could ask for more? The purple portfolio handed out to each patient at least once with contact information and names of staff and important information to remember is indispensable!

Dr Alberico has been an excellent healthcare provider. He’s very professional, he listens to your concerns, answer your questions and will follow up when necessary (call you back or schedule an office visit)he goes the extra mile for his patients.

Dr. Alberico and his staff are familiar with my condition and are happy to answer any questions I may have. I know that my care is important to Dr. Alberico. He is experienced, knowledgeable and thorough.

Great Doctor. Long wait time. Packed waiting room always.

Long waits 2-3 hours each visit even at 9 in AM . Talks at you and i end up crying after every visit. Very discouraged.

Dr. Alberico inspires trust with his attention to detail, his commitment to your personal care and his honest concern for your medical needs. He is the best physician I have worked with and is always willing to do what he can to meet our needs. He is intelligent, experienced, and truly cares for his patients. Dr. Alberico was my second opinion when diagnosed, and it was no questions after meeting with him that he was my man. He is a direct and no non-sense man and that was appealing to me, no beating around the bush with him, you know where everything stands, honestly and thoroughly. Dr. Alberico has been my oncologist treating my cancer for several years. I have always found him to be attentive, knowledgeable, and caring. He is the best.

Besides being an outstanding oncologist, Dr. Alberico is extremely kind and patient. I feel like I am important to him, and he wants me to be well informed about my treatments and the decisions his team has made about my care. During this very difficult time in my life I am so grateful he is on my side.

I’ve been treated by Dr. Alberico for 4 years. Every visit is characterized by team professionalism, caring and excellent communication. I can’t say enough superlatives about VOA in general and Dr. Alberico in particular. I love that guy.

Visit with Dr. Alberico once a month, always professional and will go over labs.

I would recommend Dr. Alberico to my family and friends. He is through and explains what happens next during treatment (i.e. chemotherapy, surgery or radiation etc.). He is good about asking questions regarding side effects of the chemotherapy drugs and makes adjustments to meet my needs at that particular time. I have another health condition that requires Dr. Alberico to communicate with other doctors outside of the regular VOA team. He communicates well with them advising them about what medications I can and cannot take during my treatments. If there is a question about what may be causing a side effect he is good at doing further tests to rule certain things out. The one area I would say needed improvement is the wait time to see him for each visit. He does take time with me as a patient answering any questions I have. He works well with his PA. Together I think they make a great team.

Dr. Alberico is a wonderful oncologist and I am fortunate to be under his care. He is on top of everything, knowledgeable and a kind and good natured person. I would never want to have gone through this with any other doctor

I believe Dr Alberico is very meticulous and truly concerned about my health care. He takes the time to explain the issues and options.

Virginia Oncology Associates and Dr. Alberico have been a Godsend to me once I was diagnosed with an aggressive and rare cancer. I’m treated pretty special there I think. I walk into my local treatment center and receptionist knows my name. Phlebotomists greet me pleasantly every time, they always have green bandage wraps for me, it means a lot. Medical tech and nurses have basically become friends. Dr. Alberico himself, a very busy man, is caring, has the resources, listens to my concerns, and surprisingly has a tremendous memory especially considering all the patients he sees with different cancers. Most importantly Dr. Alberico willingly works with my cancer team from John’s Hopkins Hospital. This collaboration has already helped me to improve my health tremendously and out live all those dire prognosis’s. Dr. Alberico is professional and personable. I feel confident that I am getting the best care possible with each visit.

I have ongoing visits with Dr. Alberico since Dec. 2019. He and his staff have always treated me with respect and made sure I understood effects that would most likely result from treatment. Most importantly Dr. Alberico coordinates directly with my cancer team at John’s Hopkins Hospital. This collaboration between the two organizations has allowed my longevity to be extended well past my prognosis date. I strongly recommend Dr. Alberico and his caring staff.

Dr. Alberico cares. And he is kind. And he is the bombdiddly in his field. I trust him with my life. Literally. If you have been diagnosed with the dreaded C-word, then this is the guy you want on your team.

During the past 4 1/2 years of having cancer and being in remission I have had the expert knowledge of a very caring oncologist, Dr. Thomas Alberico. His treatment of my chemotherapy and knowing just what kind of chemo to give me has made all the difference of my being in remission and beating my stomach cancer. I would recommend him to anyone just like he was recommended to me by my close friend who also had his care for cancer. He and his caring team are A number 1!

Dr. Alberico is following two different problems with me - Breast Cancer, and MGUS. Both can be life threatening, and he's taking regular bloodwork to cover both situations. He sees people who are FAR worse off than I am, yet he listens to me, tells me EXACTLY where I stand medically, and cares very much about my "numbers." I think he's the best of the best!

Dr. Alberico and his staff are exceptional. He takes his time with each patient, he listens & is compassionate. His staff is equally caring. I’m grateful to have them leading the way as I stumble through this journey.

Dr. Alberico is a caring and extremely knowledgeable doctor that treated me for cancer for the first time 3 years ago and I am so very grateful for his help in getting through this ordeal.

I've been patient for over four years with Dr Alberiec and his staff. My experience has been nothing short of outstanding and well taken care of. Outside of the waiting time which I understand when you're in such demand. I've always been made to feel special. Even through the transition of a new building and the challenges you must have had to overcome. I'm very thankful VOA Dr alberieco and the VOA staff that has taking care of me.

I am a nurse myself and started seeing Dr. ALBERICO in 2011 after a breast cancer diagnosis, and now an anemia. If you want the best he is it. He is not only your Dr. he is your friend. Excellent care from Dr. Alberico and his entire staff. Thank you Dr. Alberico for everything.

My wife was under the care of Dr. Alberico for over 2 years and he did not know she had stage 4 lung cancer until i took her to the emergency room. When asked how this could be...all he did was shrug his shoulders. Gois luck and God bless if you are under his care.

Dr. Alberico is one of the most caring doctors I have ever been treated by. He could be having an incredibly busy day yet he will take the time to answer any question, calm any fear and is overall one of the best!!

Dr. Alberico treated my son for Burkett's Lymphoma when he was diagnosed at the age of 21. His unending support and personal attention regarding his patients is phenomenal. I have never encountered a physician whose top priority is to treat patients with compassion and empathy when they are experiencing such a scary and shocking diagnosis. He responded to our calls immediately and answered all of our questions. He is the most wonderful doctor on this planet! I highly recommend him to anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer or blood disorders.

We have taken my father 2 times to see Dr. Alberico. Each time we had to wait 1.5 hours to see him. At dad's last appointment while we were in a smaller waiting area, a patient navigator called a patient to her and discussed the patient's treatment plan, what to expect in front of other patients. The patient navigator never asked the patient if she wanted to go to a private are, or if it was okay to discuss her plan in front of others. I felt so sorry for this patient. I get the impression that the wait time is their normal practice (other patients were complaining)

My appointment was cancelled and rescheduled without notifying me. Not acceptable! Was called while traveling and no voicemail was left. Called scheduling and was told my appointment was still on the schedule and call was most likely a Reminder . When I arrived for the appointment I was told that Dr Alberico was out of town and a new appointment had been made without my input. Not a professional way to treat a patient.
