I went in for a visit in Dec. 2015 and because the office billed the wrong secondary diagnosis code, Blue Cross Blue Shield denied the claim.When I informed the BCBS rep, he personally called the doctor's office 3 separate times to explain how to bill the correct code to cover the claim and when I called the doctor's office they gave me some story about how rebilling with the correct diagnosis code would constitute Medicare fraud. It was a matter of $25.68 that is now in a check and mailed to the doctor's office because I do not like to have any money owed to anyone.I advise any other patients to fully question whether their secondary insurance claim will be denied through error on the doctor's office biller. Needless to say I will not be a patient any more at this office. They couldn't bill the correct secondary insurance diagnosis code so I ended up paying $25.68 out of my pocket that should have been paid by my secondary insurance carrier.Even after the secondary insurance rep called them 3 times to explain how to bill the fee correctly.
