Dr. Thanh Nguyen-Dinh

This doctor is one of the worst I have ever seen. He was incredibly unhelpful, uninterested, rude. He should definitely not be in urgent care. He barely looked at me and was fixated on his computer screen. I was in very bad pain--it was obvious that I had been crying, and I had icepacks on the affected body part--and explained my problem calmly. (It was a recurring one which had already been diagnosed). But he asked, basically, "What do you expect me to do about it?" He did absolutely nothing to help me, showed no compassion and made me feel like I was wasting his precious time. I just left the room mid-stream, which I have never done before. Almost every other doctor I have seen at John Muir has been wonderful, so this was beyond disappointing.

Unlike the other reviewers here, I had a positive experience. I felt the doctor communicated well with me, listened to my issues, and provided useful feedback. I did prepare in advance by looking through my lab results and I had a list of previous prescriptions. I discussed findings of my current and previous physicians as well. I don't give 5* reviews based on one encounter, but I'm comfortable giving 4* and will see Dr Nguyen-Dinh again when needed.

Saw Dr. Nguyen at an Urgent Care visit. I do agree that he spent a lot of time looking at the computer screen but concluded after he began asking questions that he was reading my complete history to see if it contained any hints as to what was causing my foot pain and swelling --- gout? too much salt in my diet? He did examine my foot and concluded I had a foot infection. I felt his time spent was appropriate and more careful than many doctors I have seen. Time will tell if his diagnosis is correct.

Should be zero but that's not an option. Seriously the worst doctor I've ever seen. Saw him in Urgent Care where you have no choice of doctor. He couldn't care less, stared at his computer the entire time and never examined me but was quick to make diagnosis (which was wrong!). He would ask me a question, then clearly not listen as he later would ask me again. Walked out of the room mid-visit and mid conversation for 5 minutes without any "hang on a sec" or anything. I just stared at the door wondering what happened. Luckily my issue wasn't life threatening but it got really worse after my visit with him as he misdiagnosed (really didn't diagnose) and I had to go to a real doctor afterwards who is treating me (likely will require a procedure). Why is this guy practicing medicine? He's checked out.

Can you do zero stars? This guy is terrible, and should be in a lab somewhere where he doesn't interact with patients. John Muir, I sure hope you are reading these reviews.

I thought I was the only one who felt the doctor was rude. Agree with all the reviewers. Had to post my review about this person and landed here and glad to know I was not the only one who felt that way. Extremely rude, no patience or interest listening to patients what their problem is. I don't want to reiterate my experience. All the reviews here are spot on about him and his poor qualities as a patient healthcare provider. He shouldn't in this job anymore if he doesn't like interacting with patients.

What a waste of time. Doesn't listen, can't communicate effectively. Wouldn't help me. Quit take up space and retire already

The worst bedside manner I've ever seen and I am a nurse who works in a Hospital. Not communicative, indifferent, needlessly blunt and curt in what he says and asks . He also fiddles interminably at the computer while you're sitting there waiting for some information. He never made eye contact.

I'm never going back to that urgent care center just because of him, I'd rather pay more to go to the ER. Dr. Thanh misdiagnosed my (later re-diagnosed) minor case of Folliculitus as gential Herpes . . . He spent roughly 1-2 minutes reviewing my skin and was very quick to diagnose---too quick in fact. Maybe he was strapped with patients this particular day in urgent care, but he was way too rushed and it's no excuse to diagnose a condition so serious without even running a blood test. Unfortunately he was pretty unprofessional, in my experience.
