The nurse & Dr. Baumgarner physically reviewed my referral records, discussed with me, plus listened to my thoughts on the subject, too. I was treated as a human; not, another dollar bill coming through!

Called to have my birth control refilled. They claimed I hadn’t been in since 2020 and wouldn’t be able to refill it without seeing me. I told them I hadn’t even been on the script for an entire year and had definitely (obviously) been in within the last year specifically FOR birth control. They then switched up, saying oh we have seen you but not for what we want so we still won’t refill it. Regardless of the fact that I HAD been in less than a year ago. I’m running out of this in three days, cannot get in for an appointment ANY time soon, and they left me with absolutely zero options and did not seem to care in the slightest. They seemed annoyed that I was upset that no one had told me the last THREE times I’ve gotten a refill that they hadn't seen me for the right reason and need me to come in. LIVID. Loved the experience through my entire pregnancy and labor. I will hopefully be going back next with my next child

dr baumgartner is great. however the office is just horrible. they don’t answer the phones, nor do they take care of anything you ask them to. i had pain at one point and called all morning, finally got them on the phone about 4 hours after they opened and they said they’d give me a call back and let me know if they could see me. hours passed and i heard nothing so i called again(had to call multiple times for about 40 mins). they told me again that they’d give me a call back, i still got nothing. about 2 hours before they closed i called again and they told me there was no reason to come in. a few months later i asked for a letter saying my due date, i was told they would email it to me by the end of the day, surprise i didn’t get it. i called the next morning and after calling for hours finally got someone on the phone and asked, they said they were going to email it after lunch. i waited and never received anything. next day i called again multiple times until someone finally answered and asked for it and they said they would email it to me right then. a few hours past and i tried calling and no one was picking up. i went up there and told them i needed the letter and they had a horrible attitude and said “i was about to send it”. now i moved out of state at 36 weeks, i asked for my medical records to be sent to a new ob so they could review them and see if they could see me because i am so far along. it’s been a week and i have sent a release form, i have given them the fax info and nothing is being taken care of and i’m not there to get it taken care of. this office just sucks. dr baumgartner is great. however the office is just horrible. they don’t answer the phones, nor do they take care of anything you ask them to. i had pain at one point and called all morning, finally got them on the phone about 4 hours after … More

I wish I would've read the reviews but Dr. Baumgartner was the only female OB my insurance covered. I'll find a way to be comfortable with another gender doing my exam before I ever set foot in her office again. HORRENDOUS care. Absolutely horrible. I do have a medical condition that requires some extra thought into my lifestyle and treatment. However it is not unheard of and she acted as if she was well aware of it. That did not stop her from prescribing me very intense medication with zero guidance and having me start it in an inappropriate manner. (Medication in question is supposed to be started gradually with until you get to the full dose). I spent 6 months in agony trying to understand why I HAD to take this medication. I initially didn't want to jump into such a medication but was told it was the ONLY treatment. After 6 months I took myself off and I feel so much better. I have since started seeing my GP for everything other than an exam and am looking for a new OB. I also went in after having a second miscarriage very confused and having some strange lingering pains. The other doctor told me she would refer me for an ultrasound 'to make me feel better'. Surprise! There was a 4cm cyst. PLEASE. Do yourself a favor and trust your gut. I knew when I left my first appointment I shouldn't return. We absolutely LOVE Dr Baumgartner!! She is the best OBGYN I have ever had and she really really cares and makes sure to answer every question or concerns you may have. I wasn’t lucky enough to have her for my 1st pregnancy but I did with my 2nd pregnancy and now with my 3rd pregnancy and I wouldn’t have it any other way :) We absolutely LOVE Dr Baumgartner!! This office is a joke. They have no concern for their patients time. My appointment was scheduled for 2pm. I arrived at 1:30pm. There were no other patients there. I was promptly taken to a room at 2pm and told to undress from the waist down and given a piece of paper to cover with. I sat on the bed half naked, cold, and uncomfortable for 40 minutes. I could hear doors opening, chattering and laughing the whole time, but no one ever bothered to check on me or advise me of a delay. At 2:40 I got dressed and went out and asked the receptionist what the problem was. She said the staff had a meeting and I should be seen in about 10 minutes. A meeting???? Then why did they schedule a 2pm appointment?? I just left, and will never go back!

She was a great dr and delivered my baby boy we loved her.

Let me start off by saying this.. I had her for my second pregnancy and..... I ABSOLUTELY LOVE HER! She is very informative about what’s going on with me and the baby and always answered any questions I had which were very few cause like I said above she kept me informed on everything and she takes 3 sonograms 1 for your first sono, 2 for the gender, 3 to check to make sure the baby is in the right position and that the Umbilical cord is not wrapped around the baby In a wrong way! unlike most Drs like the first dr I had before I moved they only take 2 unless you are high risk which I was not the only thing actually wrong with me is that I’m anemic and have boarder line hypertension while pregnant and that got all addressed very quickly with iron pills and very good prenatals and they always checked my blood pressure sometimes twice to double check how I was doing and if anything was off they sent me to the hospital right away! The whole staff treats you like family and they all are so understanding too :) She also spotted that my son had a problem as soon as he was delivered ( hypospadias ) and had that addressed right away. She is the best OBGYN in Athens,TX!

The ladies at the front desk are rude, always look at you with a nasty look on their face. Customer service is HORRENDOUS. Dr. B doesn’t care about her patients. Not even a little bit, terrible bedside manner. The whole office is extremely unprofessional. They have made my first pregnancy obgyn experience a nightmare.

She was indifferent, seemed to be in a hurry as she told me I had uterine cancer, discovered from a biopsy done earlier. Her nurse seemed more understanding that I was in shock upon my finding out what was wrong. It felt like she was more interested in getting to her next appointment.

Greatest OB definitely recommend her. keep in mind she is a very busy lady so you don’t always get her at the exact appointment time but she was amazing and Delivered my Babygirl via CSection at the end of september! Greatest attitude and amazing office staff. If i ever become pregnant again will most definitely use her!

No one ever answers the phone or returns them. Dr.Baumgartner just seems to busy to really care about her patients. Phlebotomist has very bad attitude and goes through the vein when she sticks you it's very painful.

I was the first appointment of the day and it still took over an hour and a half to get seen. I’ve used doctor baumgartner for both of my babies. She is an amazing doctor! I wouldn’t use anyone else! Her and her staff are very thorough and very kind.

Appx in '03 Dr. Baumgartner saved my life. I had excruciating abdominal pain. She was my 2nd opinion. In surgery she found a 3by7cm cyst on my rt ovary and my other was wrapped around my intestine and necrotic. Both had to be immediately removed. I now am returning for another serious issue (the third). I trust and believe in her wholeheartedly.

All these negative comments are throwing me off . Dr B delivered all 4 of my children and also did my DNC. She is a great women ! People need to understand how much she works ! Not only does she gave normal patients in the office , she also is on call and has to deliver! She works very hard and has a beautiful heart .

I love Dr B. She's delivered me & will be delivering my child in September. But I will say hef medical assistants are very rude and judgmental & her nurse practitioner is rude as well. As many people will agree that have went here.

My friend recommended another doctor in the same building, but she was overbooked so i had decided to give Dr. Baumgartner a try. She would not interact much she kept it very professional, short and to the point. She would barely look you in the eye when she spoke, and had no interest in anything else about you, there was never any warmth or genuine care or her being engaging, very cold. I couldn't see her delivering my baby so i switched after few months and they didn't like that at all

Felt rushed every time, doesn't take her time to get to know you whatsoever, felt very cold and too professional, i should have listened to the other people in the waiting room advice and change her while i could.. There was times where she wouldn't even look you in the eye when she spoke to you. I hope she sees this and works on her people skills and making her patients feel warm and comfortable and cared for, too bad.

Does not care about patients, acts like your questions are not important enough for her to pay attention too. Below average staff being that they can't even keep up with a urine sample or possibly that it was not important enough for her to care about. In general does not deserve to be a Doctor the only reason she has any patients is the lack of options given here in east Texas.
