Simply put, Dr. Tariq Javed is an elite, world class surgeon who saved both my life and my will to live. If you are looking for your new best friend, join a church, take up a hobby or join Kiwanis, Rotary or Toastmasters; Dr. Javed isn't that guy. He IS the guy who will do EVERYTHING within his power to make sure you receive a favorable outcome. He is the guy who answered his own phone and my post op questions after office hours. Dr. Taeiq Javed returned me to the quality of life i enjoyed prior to the start of my severe back pain. During the two and one-half years prior to the surgery, every step i made i had back pain with right leg and foot radiation. No sleep at night due to pain and spasms. Pain medications did not relieve the pain. I was no longer able to walk my 5 miles/day that i enjoyed for years. Now, 6 months post-surgery, i am now focusing on my goal of agin walking 5 miles/day--PAIN FREE. Thank you Dr. Kaved. I heard he was a great doctor. I went to see him for 2nd opinion. He asked me who did my 1st surgery, I told him and he seemed aggravated because his reply to me was "Why don't you go back to him? If you go to one doctor, you should be going back to him". This statement along with others he made while I was in his office would never make me feel comfortable with my life in his hands. Terrible bedside manner. His demeanor is also reflective with his associates. Sorry, NOT SORRY, I would never go back.

I have never been treated so rudely, disrespectfully, with zero compassion, so nonchalantly & as though I was a complete waste of the 5 minutes Dr. Tariq Javed spent with me, IN ALL MY LIFE! He actually laughed when he pulled out my pain diagram & made fun of the fact that “it looks like your whole body is in pain”. I responded to him “It is. I have zero quality of life, I can barely stand nor walk for more than a couple of minutes without being in such excruciating pain that I have to sit or lay down.” I even explained that I haven’t been able to go to the grocery store in 2 years because I can’t walk but a few minutes at a time. Dr. Javed couldn’t care less. In fact, he told me to lose weight and maybe I’d feel better. The sad part, is that until today, I was grateful to Dr. Javed for assisting my amazing Neurosurgeon, Dr. Daniel Moore, with my tumor resection on 1/18/2019. Now I realize the only reason he assisted in my surgery was to boost his own ego. WORST DR. EVER!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been a patient of Dr. Javed since late 2016. Dr. Javed performed an ACDF multi-level surgery when NO other Dr.'s in the field would touch me due to underlying cervical spine conditions!! Dr. Javed took the time to explain the options I could do even to the point of second and third opinions. I would be in a wheelchair today as a quad possibly if I had a fall or other neck injury before having this procedure!! I am very glad Dr. Javed did what he could do to give me a normal life to this point! As other have said Dr. Javed is here to hopefully correct whatever serious condition you may have and to let you know directly and to the point what he can do to the best of his ability without sugar coating the outcome or promising something that cant be done safely to better your life and condition!! Thank you Dr. Javed and your team!!

Dr. Javed is the best of the best. He saved my life and my will to live after a really bad accident destroyed disks in my neck. He's not there to be your best friend; join a church, service club or find a hobby for that. He didn't force surgery down my throat and was very gracious to me and my family throughout the process, especially with regards to speaking with my wife while I was in recovery. God's hand guides Dr. Javed's scalpel!

Dr. Javed is an Awesome doctor. He is the top of the line in his field and profession. He is at the top of the food chain as they say, with a 5.0 rating as a brain and spine surgeon. My husband has suffered debilitating back pain for almost 2 years prior to seeing Dr. Javed. His pain was nerve pain from a back issue that radiated pain in his left hip and down his left leg. We are now 11 weeks post op and my husband is almost pain free! He said his pain went from 8 with 10 being the worst to 1 or less! Dr. Javed is amazing! He has given my husband his life back! I see people saying he has a bad bed side manner. I have to disagree, I thought he explained everything well and answered all questions we had. I was crippled, severe pain 24 hours a day, I have read these reviews and they really don’t make sense the negative ones. I was probably put in the surgery, the surgery was quick, and I was immediately out of pain 100% after surgery. One thing you must keep in mind when having spinal surgery, do you need experience when you’re working around your nervous system. And this man has it. I highly highly recommend him. Dr. Javed is a fantastic Doctor and Surgeon. I wanted the best to operate on my back. After he conducted a thorough examination and diagnose's, aided by exays and MRI's, he informed me I had degenerated dicc L4 & 5. After my surgery and recovery, I am pain free and do anything I want, including hiking, working outside in my yard and a multitude of other physical activities. He removed a pituitary tumor for me last week. Great doctor and everyone I have talked to had great reviews. Would not have let anyone else do this.

I’ve read some say he has no bedside manner and is rude. I wouldn’t call him rude, just direct, blunt and a phenomenal surgeon. I’ll get touchy feely words from my therapist - I’ll take Dr. Javed’s skills over that any day!!

I am three days post-surgery, ACDF 5/6 done by this surgeon. The care I received at Kennestone was phenomenal and at this point I am very impressed with the job he did. I understand the comments about bedside, but a great doctor does not also have to be your new best friend. A true professional.

I am so grateful to have had Dr. Javed as my surgeon. I have been to quite a few neurosurgeons over the years and did not feel comfortable going through with the surgery .... I had a 4 level cervical fusion 4 days ago and I am already feeling so much better .... I also had a swan neck deformity that he was able to correct at the same time .....Dr. Javed is straight forward and to the point, and at the same time very caring. Dr. Javed is to the point and direct in his diagnosis and solutions. He helped me immensely and brought me through some pretty difficult pain and discomfort from arthritis and disc issues. He is the best in his field in Marietta, Cobb County. On my way to healing now!!

Dr Javed doesn't sugar coat or schmooze at all. I would wait a year rather than go to any other doctor. I cannot thank him enough for the relief his skilled hands in surgery provided me. I had 2 surgeries - neck fusion and lumbar fusion. He's very thorough as is his staff. a bit of time in waiting room. His seriousness reassured me that he knew his business. He ordered MRI's from well star whom he knows and trusts and examined thoroughly before ever meeting with me. Excellent Doctor!! cc

I agree with many others. Terrible bedside manner aka very rude! I was told he was an expert in face pain. I have been diagnosed with Trigeminal Neurolgia. He kept interrupting me, asking me rapid fire questions. He got very agitated when I tried to explain when he asked me what he felt were yes & no questions. I've done a lot of research on my condition and he told me I didn't have what I thought I had or what other doctors have diagnosed me with. He offered no alternative possible causes for my pain. Ten years ago Dr. Jared performed delicate spinal fusion and my back is still great .

Thorough, patient, honest. I was very impressed with Dr. Javed and his entire staff. He answered every one of my questions and was very direct. I appreciated his demeanor and feel very knowledgeable with my surgical decision.

I had chronic back pain and developed sciatica 3 weeks after knee replacement. Neurologists in my area could not find problem. Referred by orthopedist at Kennestone Orthopedics. Took MRI and Dr Javid reviewed. He did surgery (left laminectomy). As an RN myself I appreciated his direct approach. He does not sugar coat and was direct about the fact that I was overweight causing back issues to be more complex. Surgery successful. I would recommend him to anyone suffering with bed issues.

Recommendations indicate he's a very talented Dr. Subsequently, if your condition is so bad you would subject yourself to humiliation and embarrassment, he's your guy. This man has no bed side manner to the point I was so belittled, I was in tears. I'm not familiar with medical terminology or reports from my referring doctor so not knowing how to respond to his insensative clinical questioning made wonder why I wasted 8 weeks to see him. Not saying you shouldn't see him but you've been warned

Dr. Javed confirmed what other neurosurgeons recommended. He took a lot of time with me and showed a lot of compassion. I was scared & reluctant to jump into surgery. Dr. Jared was patient, allowing me time to decide when surgery was right for me. Today, I am almost 6 months post op from a multi level cervical discectomy/fusion with corpectomy and am glad I made the decision to go with Dr. Javed. His office staff is outstanding and Wellstar Kennestone Hospital was great as well. Look no further!

This is the worst doctor for bedside manners, he knew I was in pain with my back by looking at my mylagram, but told me he wouldn't operate on me because I was to FAT!! and if he cut me open it would be a big hole!! How rude I'll admit I could lose about 50 pounds. I've heard he was an excellent doctor other wise, I just wouldn't use him for me. This doctor was absolutely one of the worst doctor(s) I've ever met, no bedside manners. He may have said hello to me when he came in the room, but I really do not remember him greeting me at all, and I definitely do not remember him touching me, it was almost as if he thought something was going to rub off of me to him. What a waste of time & money. Didn't pay attention to my symptoms, didn't remember much from the previous aptmt. Didn't remember he'd sent me to therapy, said I didn't have a condition, which had just been confirmed in the first sentence of the x-rays he'd just ordered & rcvd. Rcvd a lot of shoulder shrugs & that was it. Very disappointed. Off I go to another neurosurgeon for a treatment plan & into another years deductible I'll have to pay because my time was wasted going to this practice.

This review is way over due. I was involved in a auto accident several years ago, pulled out of my car by the EMTs on a backboard on a Thursday. A personal friend said to have Dr Javed see me. Arrangements were made to see Dr Javed while I was in the hospital. He placed me in a halo for 24 hours and then said he recommended surgery to repair my neck, [Verts 6/7]. Told my wife he would in in the operating room for about 3 to 3-1/2 hours. He came out after about 3 hours and said the damage was worse than expected, a lot of small pieces of bone. After 8-1/2 hours he came out and said all is well. I walked out of the hospital the Monday after my accident with full use of my legs, arms etc. There are not enough words to express how grateful I am to have had Dr. Javed operate on me. He is the best. Follow up visits were great, and his entire staff was always helpful. This review is way over due. Dr. Javed is one of the smartest doctors I have ever met. He can look at a MRI and tell within seconds if you require surgery. I ran low on pain meds while waiting for surgery and he didn't think twice about writing a prescription. My pain management doctor spoke highly of him and I can see why. While, I admit, Dr. Javed's bed side manner is straight forward, he 100% cares for his patients. He is upfront and honest.. a trait I admire in people.
