Dr. Tarin Santamaria

Very unprofessional, and egotistical. Before we had our appointment she made us sign all of these papers and give her a credit card number giving her permission to charge for the appointment before we received her services, that should have been a clue. (red flag) Her email was unsecure, and she wanted my personal information. Thank God I have my child's life completely documented, and I had a behavioral therapist with me for the appointment. She was SO confused. She got her notes confused with another child with mine and gave my son his diagnosis code. I called, with the behaviorist in the room, she never got back with me. We questioned what she saw in her 1.5 hour appointment with my child that I have have YEARS of specialist diagnosis, treat, and d/c services for. Thank God I have a paper trail that will put her one pathetic attempt at "professional opinion" as laughing stock. She would not even look at over 15 errors that I had listed. I had all of the documentation to back up all statements. Her ego stood in the way of her even looking at her notes and just saying "yes maybe I got your child's note confused with someone else's..." Don't waste your time. Ego's like this is why children with mental health issues have families that have to fight so hard to get them the help that they need. Go do someone who wants to help. Go to someone who will listen to the behavioral specialist that work with your children for over a year. That 1.5 hour really means nothing in a the grand scheme of their life. Dr. Santamaria has evaluated two of my kids. Two seperate conditions that we suspected. I don't want to give away too much medical information but my daughter had already been evaluated once and I felt like it was just hours and hours of those fill in the bubble type surveys which 1. cause me an innordinate amount of anxiety (let's say I also have issues) and 2. in the end didn't really paint a picture of what we were dealing with. I feel like Dr. Santamaria took the time (a LOT of time) to actually talk to me and my daughter (and later me and my son) to understand our concerns before having us move on to the "fill in the bubble" type surveys. So there were still those surveys that stress me out... but I feel like overall it was a much more thorough and personal evaluation. I will also add that I was super anxious about having to do the exaluation over telehealth but we all felt super comfortable with her. Obviously not every patient is going to click with every provider but this overly anxious, socially awkward, technophobic parent gives Dr. Santamaria an A+. Beware. I would not recommend this professional to evaluate your child for any reason. She comes across as passive aggressive which is one of the most dangerous type of personality disorders out there and in my opinion can't be trusted. Dr. Santamaria might need help herself.

Dr. Santamaria is a caring and thoughtful professional. She prides herself on developing her practice and providing her clients with the best care possible.

By far, one of the best clinicians in the area. Dr. Santamaria is extremely warm hearted, caring, and energetic. She does tremendous work with children possessing social and emotional disabilities. I would not send my children anywhere else.

Dr. Santamaria was very engaging and made us feel at ease. She listened to our concerns and worked with us to formulate a treatment plan. She engaged our whole family and my daughter really connected with her. I highly recommend!!!

Dr. Santamaria was kind and patient when she worked with my child. She took the time to answer any questions I had in professional and respectful manner. Being a healthcare professional myself, its important to me that someone care about my child as I would theirs and I can say that she does.

She is very professional in any situation. It's unsettling that someone would review themselves though.
