Tahira Akram

As a new patient my first impression was wow there's a lot of people as I sat there waiting to be called. After 15 min the nurse said she went to deliver a baby and would be back in 30 min. Exactly after rhat time she was back. When I met her I got good vibes from her. She was kind and always answered my questions and made sure u understood. So I told her this was my first baby and planned on a natural birth with absolutely no medication. The day I went into labor. I had such a sweet nurse that was very attentive and helped me through my breathing which is a big deal. When I was 10 cm the doctor happened to be there delivering someone else'sready. My nurse told me she wanted to induce me I said no. 10 min. Later she asked again. But my nurse said my contractions were 2 to 3 min apart. The doctor then came in the 3rd time and said it was 2 to 4 min. Apart. I because frustrated and rushed so said it was fine since I was so close anyways. Soon after She asked me to start pushing (never done it) I let out a yell didn't know to hold my breath. She said I live 2 lights away. So I'll be here fast when your ready. She left. Mt nurse told me to hold my breath and push when I got a contraction. After my 3rd contraction and knew what I was doing she said go get the doctor were having this baby. The doctor was still there but when she came in the room I believe it was my 12th push. Babys head was there and she told me to HOLD! She had to get dressed and put on gloves. It was so painful I yelled so loud I couldnf hold so pushed the baby out. My baby had his head squished a little on one side. It's normal but if she was ready like she rushed me his head would be find. He's 13 months so we'll see when I goes away fully. Also my check up she kept pushing birth control. And after that never calle me again. Not sure if she was suppose to look down there after 6 weeks but if she did she didn't. Having my second baby now and would never go to her!

Dr. Akram is one of the best , personally in my opinion. She truly cares about the baby and your health. Thankful and grateful to have chosen Dr.Akram to deliver my baby girl .

Although I did not go to Dr.Akram from the beginning of my pregnancy she made sure to give me the best experience for the second half of my pregnancy! She is so sweet and caring and makes sure you know that you and baby are her number 1 priority. Dr.Akram makes sure from the moment you see her you are comfortable, and confident in your pregnancy and helps with any questions or concerns. She is never too busy to listen and make sure she is giving you the best advice and recommendations for your health and baby’s. Baby and I had a wonderful pregnancy and smooth delivery thanks to Dr.Akram.

I'm very picky with my gynecologist..... this place was super outdated but I gave it a chance, the MA that took me to the back made me feel so uncomfortable she was not friendly at all, she wouldn't smile and you couldn't even ask her anything..... The room had not even been cleaned up from the last patient. The first time I had such a horrible experience. The doctor was nice BUT it still was a horrible experience for me.... I should have just walked out as I had felt when I was put in the room..

I had a beautiful delivery yesterday with only 2 pushes he was here ms akram helped me with the delivery process and her including the nurses were all so helpful I wish I could review them all but it was beautiful I had a healthy pregnancy my beautiful son is here thanks to me akram she was super sweet and nice and as for a black couple I really felt like she was listening to us which I don’t get from a lot of doctors but I automatically felt comfortable with her

I found Dr. Akram with my first born 2years ago and I went back to her with my 2second pregnancy which I had back to back. I have severe hyperemesis gravidarum and if it wasn’t for her idk what I would’ve done she stood by my side throughout everything made sure I was comfortable that I had my right medication and had no problem filling it and made sure I had my frequent visits to the hospital for my I.V because I was so dehydrated: she never gave me a hard time and always advocated for me to make sure me and my babies were well which is a miracle to find in a dr because I’ve heard horror stories from ppl with my condition and their drs !! She’s more of an old school Dr. which I love because she doesn’t try to push anything on you unless it’s necessary and tries her best to do what you want as far as labor and delivery. And you don’t get another dr when it’s time to have your baby she shows up always. Because my pregnancies are so unfortunate she’s allowing me to get my tubes tied which I’m so grateful for because I know any other dr would’ve denied because of my age.. very very grateful for my experience with her.

Dr. Akram delivered my beautiful baby, and I was able to have a natural birth as I had planned. She was always kind and willing to answer questions, though maybe a bit rushed, perhaps due to high volume of patients and nature of the job. One thing I didn't like was my husband not being allowed in due to covid restrictions, which I honestly think doesn't make sense anymore. Overall though I was pleased with my experience and I appreciated Dr. Akram's care and attention!

This appointment was disappointing. The Dr. didn't bother to ask my symptoms and didn't seem like she looked over my information from the new patient packet at all. I didn't feel like I can be helped here, or speak up. She is a very rigid and stern person and her attitude is dismissive and rushed.

I absolutely love Dr. Akram. She is so loving and caring and spends time with each of her patients to ensure you completely understood everything that was being said/done during your appt. She delivered 2 out of 3 of my children and I’m sad to say I’ve moved out of state so I bummed she won’t be delivering my 4th. Her staff is very helpful in answering questions and what they’re not able to answer they will ask Dr.Akram and call you back with an answer. The only thing I’d like to mention is that the wait time will be a little long but that’s only because how detailed she is with each patient. I absolutely love Dr. Akram. Dr Akram delivered my daughter last year and it surprises me to see bad reviews. My daughter had just moved back from Texas in the middle of the pandemic and with no visitors being allowed in the office or delivery room, she personally called me to show me pictures of my grandbaby. Horrible customer care. Rushes you out of office with little to no information. Office visits are not informative at all. Very unwelcoming place. By the way, cancelled my c section 3 weeks before because she was going on vacation. Don’t wait to find a different doctor

Just had my 3rd baby and Dr. Akram helped me with all 3 deliveries. My first was a c-sec my other two where successful vbacs. I have a 7 year old, and 3 year old and now and two week old baby. I love that she sees you constantly thru your pregnancy until birth. From the moment I met her I felt comfortable and safe. Most importantly she gave me the opportunity to guide me to have a successful vbac. With my first vbac I did not dilate until my C-section appointment and when I tell you we tried till the last minute she never advised me to just do a C-section we tried till the last minute to let my body go into labor. I appreciate her hard work to be consistent in her work ethic and proficiency. Everyone in her staff has been very professional and friendly. I’ve never had any kind of problem. There will be a few times the wait time is long but think about how her hands are full she has to see patients in her office and then she has patients in the hospital in labor. The hospital is near by so that’s a big plus incase you need to get checked quickly. I highly recommend Dr. Akram for anyone needing an Obgyn. My family and I will forever be grateful. The staff at this facility is absolutely rude and it is absolutely unbelievable of how they treat patients. I am pregnant and had established care with Dr. Akram. However, when i went to her office and wanted to have my husband present for the ultrasound, they refused to let him in. Along with this when i made an appointment with the office no one told me that fathers were not allowed. He is vaccinated and we were ready to provide the vaccine card however they refused to let him in. All of this done i still wanted to see Dr. Akram and was wearing my mask and my husband had left. After making me wait for 30 minutes, the office assistant came out and asked me to leave because i did not want to follow "Policy!!". Hold on, my husband left, i am pregnant, i am wearing a mask and i am an established patient and you are asking me to leave! Without even checking if me and my baby are ok and without providing a current patient referral! This is absolutely the worst i have ever been treated.

I just want to say Dr. Akram knows her work and is passionate about it as well. I saw her through out my entire pregnancy and she delivered my baby. She and her office staff are very supportive and professional.

I came to Dr. Akrams office when I was 37 weeks pregnant due to moving. Everyone at her office was nice and pleasant. I expressed my wants to do a VBAC and she was supportive of my decision. I just gave birth to my daughter vaginally on June 30th. Dr. Akram was AMAZING during my delivery, words couldn’t describe how overly joyed I was to have a doctor honor your wishes when it comes to child birth. She motivated me and kept telling me how good I was doing though out my labor. Highly highly highly will recommend Dr. Akram, she’s great at what she does. I have 0 complaints ! Barely took the time with me as a patient & she wasn't there to help deliver my baby, she went on vacation without telling me & I had so happened to give birth on my exact due date, so instead my delivery doctor was Dr. Choy, a very rude man!

My experience at this place was a disappointment. I arrived 30 mins early for my appointment and ended up waiting more then an hour to be called in. She never once noticed or told me I had placenta previa I had to find out at the hospital having her early cause she was in distress .She brushed everything I brought to her attention off and said my dizzy spells and swelling were just part of pregnancy. Poor experience at my appointment I had with her. I left the office in tears after I was told that she could only treat me for only one thing because of insurance purposes. Okay I understand that, but why wouldn't you just treat me and then bill the insurance and if they don't cover then bill me. I needed to be taken care. Have delivered two babies under her care and it was wonderful, she's a very reliable Dr and informative.

I had a great experience with Dr. Akram. She is very sweet and thorough. I had a great birth experience. Also the staff at the office is very nice too. I actually was never waiting too long. I would recommend. :)

Dr. Akram is so amazing everytime I went to see her I was in and out she was straight to the point. And when she did my c-section she did amazing to where I was basically fully healed within a month. She is such an awesome doctor. I definitely 10/10 recommend going to her.

Dr.Akram is the sweetest & greatest physician ever! My spouse & I just moved from Florida to California and we were in need of a OB physician for our baby girl so we went to her. For every visit, she was so encouraging & uplifting especially when COVID-19 made it difficult for us moms to have our spouses with us. She treated me with the greatest care & made no judgements at all. May I add that we are African-Americans & she treated me the same as everyone else. I didn’t feel isolated or cared less for because I’m black, she treats all of her patients with love & care. I saw Dr. Akram my entire twin pregnancy and she performed a wonderfully done c-section. I was extremely comfortable and trusting of her. She clearly is experienced and cares deeply for her patients and their babies. I would highly recommend her. She works for one of the highest ranked and #2 largest maternity ward hospital in CA. Waited over an hour to be seen by the doctor. Appointment lasted 10 minutes total. Did not get any help. No answers. No suggestions. No opinions. No reassurance. The only “answer” I received from the doctor was that my problem will soon go away. I have had this problem for about 1.5 years. Clearly it’s not going away. She rushed me out by repeating the same statement over and over again. “Call us when you need us.” I called and made an appointment for a reason. it’s because I needed you. Waste of time, gas, and effort. I will not be returning and I will most definitely not recommend her to anyone. Completely ignorant. If you have to many patients and feel the need to rush your patients out the door, I suggest you stop overloading yourself with patients each hour. It just make you careless and rude

The physician is excellent, she is very knowledgeable and empathetic. The office employees however are a complete opposite. The office staff called us and told us that the doctor will not be seeing us anymore because we left her a "bad review".

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! The front office is absolutely disgusting. Old leather couches and chairs. No place to sit/stand. She was 1.5 hours late for my appt!!!!!!! FOR A ROUTINE APPT!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!!!

This obstetrician/ Gynecologist shows very poor skills in creating health care plans, Diagnosing , critical thinking and working together with woman .

I’m so sad that she doesn’t accept ppl just cuz they dont accept blood transfusions.. I waited almost two hrs for them to tell me she wouldn’t see me. She delivered my first born no issues and now she won’t see me. Okay

I wish Dr. Akram was my Dr for all of my pregnancies. She is absolutely amazing. She is kind, and she listens to your concerns. Even post partum she is there if you have any questions. Also, she has an awesome staff.

Two weeks ago I gave birth to a baby with natural birth. In fact, the waiting time in Akram's office was a bit difficult, but after I came to the hospital to give birth, she understood. She helped me give birth perfectly and is recovering painlessly so that I don't have to take medicine after giving birth. In particular, I was worried that my perineum would break as a woman during childbirth. But she sutured well after the incision so that my perineum did not break. Couldn't have asked for a better doctor to deliver my two baby's who are now one and the other is a week old. Very professional, friendly, makes u feel comfortable. Gets you in and out quick if you have any questions she takes her time to answer. She hyped me up while giving birth and went in to check on me the next day. She delivered my daughter six years ago. Dr. Akram is very knowledgeable and has great bedside manner. Dr. Akram truly cares for her patients and delivers all of her patients’ babies herself no matter what hour of day or night it is. I will now be returning to her for my second pregnancy even though her office is a long drive.

Eventhough her office gets busy its worth the wait, Dr. Akram treats every patient as they matter and takes the time to explain things to you kindly. She took me as a patient at 30weeks into pregnancy with gestational diabetes and im so grateful for her. She is caring and very knowledgeable at what she does and I appreciated that shes all for natural birth. Down to being at the hospital she has specific orders to assure a safe delivery for you and the baby. I loved my experience with dr. Akram! I had to search to find a doctor willing to let my try a VBAC, and so thankful I found dr. Akram. She was supportive of me trying a VBAC from day 1. Highlights of seeing Dr. Akram for pregnancy: 1) she’s efficient & super knowledgeable, yet keeps things simple 2) very warm bedside manner, always was enthusiastic with a smile - you can tell she loves what she does! 3) always took the time to answer any questions I had, no matter how busy she was 4) in 9 months of pregnancy visits, only once was she running severely behind due to a delivery. She apologized profusely (even though she didn’t need to, it’s part of her job!) I don’t know how she does it- sees so many women, delivers lots of babies, keeps the office running well- she’s a total boss! 5) no frills - the office isn’t fancy, but the staff see a lot of women, always very professional & know what they’re doing. This woman is completely unprofessional and should have her license taken away. She labeled my sister-in-law as a high-risk pregnancy. A month-and-a-half prior to her delivery date she sent a letter stating that she was unable to continue to treat her after 30 days leaving just two weeks before her delivery due to her pregnancy being high risk. No referral to another doctor. Her staff is rude and not helpful at all. How can you be qualified to deliver any baby if you cannot deal with risk?

Dr. Tahira Akram seems like she hates her job. Mrs.Akram doesn't listen to patients and is very stubborn. I went in nervous from all the reviews hoping she proof me wrong but shes everything i read. This doctor needs to be taken out of office. She is very cut throat and very unprofessional . I had her threw my 2nd pregnancy and prayed that she didnt touch me in the end and thank God she didnt. She is a non believer of christ whom speaks of unheard of things. Nope I will never recommend her to anyone. I miss doctor Malik.

I have a heart condition and severe morning sickness, which makes me a high risk pregnancy. She prescribed meds not covered by my insurance and never sent a new prescription, even after the pharmacist contacted them multiple times. I saw her every two weeks, and told her the sickness makes me unable to eat and drink and my heart condition is worsening, the dizziness and chest pains becoming more and more frequent. She repeatedly talked over me, argued with me, and basically did not treat me AT ALL. I got the nausea meds from my primary instead, and I am 5 months now and JUST BARELY returned my pre-pregnancy weight. I told her repeatedly that I am not strong enough for labor and needed a C section, it would put too much stress on my heart. She said she needed my cardiology records, WHICH I BROUGHT IN and she didn't even take or open the envelope. At this last appointment, I asked that if she wasn't going to treat me or help me, she needed to put me on disability because I CANNOT WORK with frequent tachycardia and risk of heart failure hanging over my head while I'm trying to gain weight and keep the baby healthy. She argued with us AGAIN, and then sent us a letter saying she would not continue my care. She even LIED and said we cursed at her when we NEVER DID. I have never seen a more unprofessional and lazy "doctor". She was simply not confident in her ability to handle a complicated pregnancy and took the easy way out to cover her incompetence. She over book the patience’s.. it is very crowded in there waiting to be seen. No place to sit some have to stand around or wait outside the office. I never see anything like this. Best dr. She took me in at the last month of my pregnancy and took good care of my bb and I.

Dr Akram delivered my baby she is very caring I had a good experience with her.

Dr. Akram has been a wonderful doctor. Have been going since she moved to Pomona and she is always available to answer any questions I have. I always recommend her.

She is an amazing doctor. I had her for my first baby girl and she was very aware and it went very smooth. I have her as my doctor again for my second pregnancy and wouldn’t have it any other way.

I just delivered Jan. 2019. this was my 3rd pregnancy but 1st with this o.b. She is absolutely wonderful my only complaint is that my family is complete and we won't be having more children so I will not be able to see her. She really listens and advocates for what her patients want. By far the best OB I have ever been to.

I had my baby 11/21/2018. She is the best in my book I wish I had found her with my 1st pregnancy. She has a nice soft voice, she is amazing I had GD and she really cared about my baby health and mine, which was different for me because with my 1st that dr could careless. Which is why I’m really happy that I found her. At my 38 week check up I had a few questions about being induced because I was suppose to be induced at 39 weeks. And she took the time to answer them plus I wanted to be sure that she was going to deliver my baby and she made it clear that she was going to deliver my baby which she did and she was basically my coach when it came time to deliver which I loved!! Went in yesterday for a check up and she still the same answered my questions and concerns. If I do plan on having another baby I will most definitely go back to her.. My wife went through an extremely difficult and complicated pregnancy and Dr. Akram was there every step of the way. There were times we called her at 2 in the morning, her answering service answered and she replied within 15 minutes. I can't ask for a better doctor. Dr.Akram is amazing. She is so caring and helpful. Her staff is super sweet as well. They helped me when my insurance changed in the middle of my pregnancy, dr.akram was always there in times of need. She delivered both my babies and I couldn't ask for better care. Dr.Akram is amazing! Always thorough and reassuring. The day of my delivery she arrived promptly and delivered my daughter within a matter of minutes. She did an amazing job with the sutures and even removed a piece of overgrowth from my first delivery. I highly recommend her.
