My OB wasn’t in the that day and I had an unplanned visit. I was complaining of pain and said “something doesn’t feel right”. She took a look at my records and saw that I had a previous miscarriage. She handed us a booklet on grief and miscarriage and told us everything was fine. It turns out my gallbladder was in bad shape. I ended up being transferred to UW at 32 weeks pregnant to have my gallbladder removed. They don’t usually do a surgery like this late in pregnancy. I woke up in the OR in labor and they rushed me to Labor and Delivery. Maybe if she had taken me seriously a couple months before I could have changed my diet and put surgery off until after delivery. But instead my son was put at risk because my surgery could no longer wait. This was extremely scary and frustrating.
I absolutely love Dr. Welsch. She is an amazing doctor.
Dr. Welsch did all my ob and delivered my twins, and was an amazing resource and got me through an extremely difficult twin pregnancy. I could not have done it without her and am extremely grateful for having such a good doctor. My boys were delivered safe and healthy thanks to Dr. Welsch.
