Dr. Suying Wu

Dr Wu is nice but the entire office needs some serious training. They give bad information all the time. They are always an hour behind. They put stuff in your file that is incorrect and force you to go through expensive procedures you and you insurance should not have to pay for. Stay far away.

Went there because I moved and have sleep apnea. I am heavily overweight. She rolled her eyes when I told her i was always overweight. My friend said she never saw a dr treat anyone that way! She got extremely nasty when talking about the neversaw a dr treat someone like she dod me. Would giclvcpap recall. I walked out!

I went there for my epilepsy. All she wanted to talk about is sleep apnea. She had me tested twice. Then I couldn't get my meds refilled for my epilepsy. I give 2 ☆s because she did give me an EEG and found out I have a complex seizure disorder, but without my meds I can't function.

Dr. Wu is wonderful. Feel like she really cares about her patients. May have a bit of a wait, but it's worth the it.

This doctor takes time with YOU! No always what you want to hear (lose weight) but what you need to hear. She takes the time to listen to you and actually hear your concerns.

I've been seeing Dr. Wu for a long time. I see many doctors and she is exceptional, I would recommend her to anyone

Horrible from the beginning. She prescribed medicine on the first visit with the main main side effect being drowsiness. I was there for results of an MRI of which was ran by my primary due to extreme fatigue and weakness. She ordered a lot of blood work in which my insurance did not pay for 2 of them because of the diagnosis given. (She never did give me a diagnosis.) The insurance company said all they need to cover the blood tests is an additional diagnosis code. The coding department is refusing to do this even after the nurse said it happens and would not be a problem. I had all my records sent to her along with the cd of the MRI and they claimed they never received anything from any of the 3 places including the blood work that she had ordered although I had even received a copy of the blood work myself. I had to run all over and get copies to drop off to them. On top of all that she scheduled an additional MRI which was cancelled because the office never sent the pre authorization to the insurance company. Her nurse is absolutely amazing if and when you are able to get a return phone call. Can anyone recommend a neurologist in the area please???

Dr. Wu is awesome. I've gone to her for years. She is sincere, caring, respectful, and thorough. She definitely cares greatly for your wellbeing and overall health. Sometimes have to wait a bit but, is worth waiting for. She is one doctor I will wait to see. She listens and answers my questions. She will explain things in a way that I can understand them.

She always takes her time and listens to me, no matter how long it takes. She makes you feel like you're the most important patient in the world.

Dr Wu is an excellent doctor. Always patient and a good listener. She is as thorough as any doctor I have seen in 50 years. Professional and extremely knowledgeable. I couldn’t ask for a better doctor. I have a little trouble understanding her at times. But I am hard of hearing and have difficulty understanding foreigners in general.. Even the staff is excellent at the Elkhart Clinic.

I think she is a very good Do I’v never had to wait very long. Yes she is very hard to understand, but I get what she is telling. I believe she is really concerned about my health and she says it like it is. I didn’t like what she told me the first time I want to se her but that was my problem. My wife and I both think she is a very GOOD Do. I would send my family to see her.

Kept getting rescheduled for sleep study. 30 days after sleep study was done not a single call from there office. When I called in they finally called me back. They tried to have me do another sleep study until I said I already had it done 30 days ago

Dr. Wu cares about her patients and asks the appropriate questions and does examinations as needed. Through some trials medications, to see what works best, she has helped with my bad headaches. I recommend her highly.

Update to 'I had an incident and follow up ambulatory EEG' post. 2nd neurologist never saw EEG but told me I should take the Epilepsy meds based on Dr Wu's notes. Again, I refused to take meds. 3rd neurologist said "What matters is what's happening now" and ordered Video EEG. 3 days in hospital for VEEG, thousands of dollars. No Sign Of Any Seizure Activity! (Also no sign of restless leg I knew I didn't have, that Wu gave me Requip for, or peripheral neuropathy) But even this Dr won't go so far as to say Dr Wu is doing wrong and when I asked her associate how the readings compare to Dr Wu's, he said they aren't able to read other practices imaging because everyone has their own programs and they aren't compatible. (Yet they ask for imaging from other practices and there are signs at check in reading "don't forget to give us your CD"). So big relief that I am seizure free, but very disappointed that it took so much time, money, and effort to prove a negative and still no one will stand against one of their own. Who knows how many others are taking unnecessary meds. (She also prescribed Aricept for my mother for dementia until her family Dr said she didn't need it. It's 10 years later and still no sign of dementia.) This whole clinic pushes meds hard.

Dr. Wu has been very straightforward from my first visit. She has helped me get my sleep apena. She is very knowledgeable and I do believe she truly cares and wants what's best.

I had an EEG in a hospital. Normal. Dr Wu then had me take an ambulatory EEG. She said I was having seizures. I was prescribed seizure meds, and told to be careful driving. I said I would not take the meds until she could tell me how I would know if the "seizures" were under control since I had never had any physical sign or symptom of a seizure, nor had anyone ever witnessed me blanking out or anything similar. I requested my records be sent to a different neurologist. The Doctor's notes were sent but not the EEG images themselves. The neurologist requested them again. Again not sent. My Primary Dr requested them. Not sent. I asked for all of my records from Elkhart Clinic, specifying IN WRITING that All Images and Test results from Dr Wu be included. When I got the flash drive, no EEG test. I now have an appointment with a 3rd neurologist willing to talk about redoing the test to see if I, in fact, have seizures. I do not want to be a danger to others, but it has been several years now and still no physical symptoms, of any kind, experienced nor observed.

Dr Wu is excellent. She spends appropriate time needed, is pleasant, listens to your concerns, and provides excellent medical advice and care. I am blessed to have chosen Dr Wu for my neurological needs. I would highly recommend her.

I originally went to my family doctor Mr. Buckley. He suspected absent seizures and said I should see Doctor Wu. She has been my c-pap specialist so I went in with confidence. I was set up with an EEG and then an ambulatory EEG which in my opinion was a total joke. I was left with scars and bruising to many parts of my head from the procedure. I got charged from the Elkhart Clinic for a follow up appointment I KNEW NOTHING ABOUT. I had to call to set up a follow up with doctor Wu. I did a follow up with Doctor Wu and was told that there were signs in my EEG of seizures but she did not elaborate and was then in a hurry to put me on medicine. After she typed away on her computer for a bit, she told me not to drive and that my medicine was already submitted to the pharmacy. I proceeded to tell her that I'm always alert and that I have never blacked out or gone "away" from my alertness and my wife can testify from that. After she logged in my prescription and told me it was ready I was pretty much pushed out the door. No explanation as to what this seizure is....no name of it. No explanation of this science experiment medicine I'm put on. And no one to check me out after I left her office. I did receive a notice in the mail of a follow up appointment in 3 months. f I don't get any answers then I will gladly find another doctor who cares a little more.

I absolutely love her! Yes the wait time is long, but it is because she and her staff are taking all the time that needs to be taken with each patient!! They are not treating the common cold they are treating the brain, so naturally it demands more time! I always know I will have to wait so I always plan accordingly!! It was by a miracle that I happened to get her in the ER that day but I thank God everyday because not even my own surgeon at the time could figure out what was wrong with me!! I have referred a lot of people to her! She is my savior! NO she is not hard to understand I have never had trouble!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its all about the money. I did a eeg and never got a call with result over a week had passed i called them took 3 days to call me back. Messages just go to nurse voice mail. Nurse never answer the phone good luck.but i explained to her i didnt have the money and why. She still sceduled an appt and when i get there they call.me to.the window and told me to go pay copay and come back. Well I'd already discussed it prior to.appt so i just left and getting another dr . If you dnt have copay dnt let the schedule you an appt to go talk to.her for what. We'd already had a game plan and i dnt have money to just go and talk to.her for what. Waste gas and my time tday not happy. I have seizures and I've been seeing Dr. Wu for more than ten years. She's an exceptionally good Neurologist

Terrible. I will NOT go back to her. LONG wait time, POOR English, CONDESCENDING, makes prescription recommendations without checking from the prescribing doctor, etc. I like the care from the Elkhart Clinic, but NOT her. I will go to Elkhart General Hospital for further treatment!!

Fantastic caring dr and I would recommend her to anyone that wants a good caring dr for serious brain problems. She reallly cares about you and has a kind and good heart. How anyone can say anything bad about her..I dont know.

she doesn't even listen, I don't think she looked up from her computer once. She just kept saying.. "yup, sleep apnea". She didn't even try to figure out my problem- which IS NOT sleep apnea btw. Avoid this Doctor

I went to Dr. Wu and I was very disappointed. She tried to adjust the medication that was ordered by another doctor without consulting the doctor. I felt offended by this because her place is to treat me for sleep apnea--she had no business talking to me about another doctor's decision. She is very kind, thorough, takes time with you. My husband and I are both her patients and we are very satisfied how much interest she has shown toward us.

Dr. Wu is a fantastic neurologist. She is one of the first doctors to take my epilepsy seriously and properly diagnose and treat it. She cares about her patients a lot and takes time to answer questions and spend time with you instead of rushing you in and out. A lot of comments complain about her English but it is fine, she just has a thick accent and it's a little rough around the edges. She is very direct and to the point and can come off as blunt, but she can also be very funny and friendly.

Waste of time period . These older physcian are only out.for the numbers and the money for sure. Do.your homework and find someone who will be concerned about your situation becus Dr woo isnt that dr for you

I did not really like Dr. Wu from the first time I met her. She claims to be Chinese, but I believe her to be Vietnamese. She does not speak clear English. And, she told me not to sleep too much even though I have MS. She wanted me to stop taking a certain medication that another doctor prescribed without consulting the other doctor. I did not like her "bedside manner". I changed doctors after the second visit. She really downplayed my illnesses.

Two out of three visits were over an hour wait without apology. Staff was rude. She speaks very poor English, very had to understand. Could not get records for 12 weeks after. Very self righteous kept telling us how great she was.

She is very knowledgeable and understanding. She works well with Children. Her bedside manner is outstanding.
