Everyone is so nice and helpful… love my new glasses.. they are spot on!

The most patient caring people. Dr Wise was very thorough and showed genuine care. The others made my husband and me feel special. Loved our nurse Faith.

Their system of handling clients is well envisioned and completed well throughout the process. Friendly and fun to interact and learn from, well knowledgeable staff.

Very pleasant experience. My new glasses were just the wrong fit for me and after 1 week I went in and they made everything right. They are professional and care about their patients. They also took the time to explain to me the upcoming procedures.

We've always enjoyed our experience with Dr. Wise over the past 10 years. She's just genuinely kind and offers such sweet small town, yet quality, care. (As do all the receptionists.) We were also so happy to receive this same kind of experience during our first visit with Dr. McDonald. Highly recommend.

I have been a patient at Dr. Wise's office since 1982. I was always impressed with their "personal touch" and their professionalism until today. I was ordering my contacts today and discovered that I had not had an exam since December, 2021. I usually received a reminder from the office. I called the office and told them that I needed to make an appointment, but since I have a major surgery tomorrow, I would have to schedule it in February, 2022. I asked if I could get ONE contact for my right eye until I got to my appointment. The receptionist asked the office manager and she said "no" they could not give or sell me one contact. I asked if she would ask Dr. Wise. They returned my call and in a very hateful tone they said that Dr. Wise said "no". I have been a community pharmacist in Mars Hill since I moved there in 1982. I understand the laws and regulations of pharmacy. I was always faced with allowing a refill for someone who was out of refills, but he or she was planning on going to their doctor within a month. I always thought that it was my duty to give them enough medication to get them to their appointment, unless it was a controlled substance. This is a warning, that for whatever reason ,during these times of Covid, flu and other issues such as surgeries, etc. this office is not flexible in anyway to accommodate your basic needs pertaining to optometry. I felt obligated to give this information to anyone considering going to this practice. It is no longer a "small town" friendly practice. For this, I am so disappointed. I have been going to Dr. Wise and previously Dr. Stowe since 1982. I have always had good care. Then, I discovered that I had not gone for my annual visit. I contacted her office immediately. I explained to the receptionist that I never received a reminder for my annual visit but I wanted to make an appointment as soon as possible, but since I was having surgery it would have to be February, 2022. I explained to her that I needed one right contact until I could get to my appointment. She checked with the office manager and Dr. Wise and they refused to sell me one contact. In the past, this practice had always supported me and the local community. As a community pharmacist, I always kept in mind if one of my patients needed medication and they did not have any refills, as long as it was not a controlled substance, I would make sure that they had enough medication. I am so upset and disappointed. I will never go to this practice again!
