Absolutely no complaints. A wonderful surgeon & wonderful staff. Everything explained & I was made to feel very comfortable about the operation. I would highly recommend Dr. McManus!

Dr. McManus had a kindly demeanor until I asked her a question about one of the metrics that was a part of my diagnosis. She then became testy and said "No.I am not going to turn this into a pathology lesson." Later, when I read about this metric (Nottingham score), I realized that her knowledge of it was incomplete, and that that was probably why she had reacted the way that she did. Dr. McManus is the most kind, caring and understanding specialist I ever met. The minute she checked me she comfort me so much with her kind word which I will never forget was “ kiddo you r not going anywhere” It gives me so much hope and positive energy to deal with my problem. I love the way she treat her patients with so much love and dedication. The staff is very friendly and good, I really really like her idea to have Jesus Christ on each and every exam room’s wall. I’m a big believer in God I have faith in his mercy, seeing him there gives me positive vibes ! Dr. Susan just did my surgery yesterday and she touched my heart again with her love and care, her motherly nature gives me so much comfort. Thanks to her and whole team of breast center!!! She saved my life 14 years ago. I could not get in with other places for months. I got a hold of her and got an important immediately. Her staff was amazing with getting me in and understanding how scared I was , just had a baby. Dr McManus looked at everything and said I can tell you it’s cancer. She had an opening 2 days later for surgery. She said we can wait until Friday to get your biopsy back or I can have it out by Thursday. Husband and I opted for Thursday. My cancer was the size of a pea but had already spread. I had to go thru chemo and radiation and I am here today because of her and I owe my life to her!!!! Dr. McManus and staff are compassionate, thorough and very professional. Dr McManus spent a lot of time with me and explained my issue and showed me films to help me understand. They all helped make a scary experience as pleasant as possible.

I had surgery yesterday. Dr. McManus is first class all the way. I come from a family of medical professionals, including a retired top breast surgeon, who fully endorsed her recommendations. I knew right away upon meeting Dr. McManus that I was in the right hands- she knew exactly what the problem was, although my situation is not commonly seen. She is efficient, thorough, and realistic. If you are her patient, rest assured, you are in the right hands. I see a couple of 1-star reviews about not getting enough 1:1 with her or something to that effect. I find this deeply concerning. if this is how you feel, please consider that she DOES have many patients and for good reason. She knows what she's doing. We need her in the Operating Room. There are not enough specialists like her, nor are there hours in a day for her to sit in the therapist's chair as well. As women, we need to support one another. Please keep this principle in mind before asking to take up the time of an outstanding specialist who already has a clear and informed plan for you. Again- she knows what she's doing! Please consider that insisting on or hoping for her personal time and attention (which she WILL give you, by the way!) is a matter of depriving another woman- likely also in your shoes- from receiving care. By that same principle... it is also not fair to the doctor, who probably puts in 70-hr weeks and never takes a vacation bc she is well aware that she has the ability to help other women and chooses to spend probably every waking minute that way when not with her own family. By the way, my experience was that Dr. McManus has outstanding bedside manner. She is warm, relatable, compassionate, personable, and really knows her stuff. I'd give 10 stars if it were an option. Dr. McManus was able to save my breast when another surgeon couldn't do that at another hospital. She had me get DNA testing before surgery because my mother also had breast cancer. (Never suggested at the other place.) I did not test positive for the gene. She was able to go in the 2 different places and remove what was necessary and leave me with my breast, a bit smaller. This wasn't the easiest task but she was totally up for the challenge. I have chosen not to do any reconstruction surgery. Dr. McManus was so caring and compassionate. I would use her again in a heartbeat.

Totally agree with Teriz Michael. Unfortunately, my daughter is not as fortunate as she.

Dr. McManus has an excellent team of nurses and staff who are supportive and attentive. She however seems to be overbooked and was not thorough in her care for my breast cancer. She overlooked many parts of my care and she did not view my as a whole person - mind, body, and soul... She was inaccessible and when I finally spoke to her on the phone about a week prior to my breast surgery she did not give clear recommendation to what type of surgical procedure I should have (lumpectomy vs. mastectomy). Patient education is not her forte therefore if you are looking to make an informed decision based on doctor expertise and opinions, I would not recommend her. She is a nice person but I needed a doctor who is accessible, informative, patient in answering my questions, and has a clear plan for surgery. I did find another surgeon who ordered the proper tests and thoroughly followed protocol as well as spend with me the time I needed to have my questions answered to make an informed decision. My wish is no one would need Dr McManus, if you do you will be in good hands. She is warm, caring and knowledgeable, you feel you are her only patient.

Breast surgery. Excellent in every vein of her profession; surgery, bedside manner, goes out of her way to make patient aware of their medical situation in comfort and calm. I would recommend her to anyone needing her professional help

She's very blunt but in a way that makes you feel like you can leave yourself in her care. She spent the time to answer my questions and the staff was also very kind!

Poor office follow up regarding comparative films. Most of the staff is cool and curt. However, Maureen Gets 5 stars. Left so many messages to follow up.

I did not have a positive experience with Dr. McManus but as a result I learned to advocate for myself. She is not easily accessible. I often had to speak to her nurse who is a wonderful woman- compassionate, patient, and kind. But her nurse is not the one who will be performing my surgery! A week prior to operating I did not know what Dr. McManus planned on doing (lumpectomy or mastectomy). Dr. McManus seems over booked and perhaps the reason why things were slipping through the cracks.

Dr. McManus is very pleasant and reassuring. She is very down to earth for a doctor with the excellent credentials she has. She took the time to go over my films so that I coukd see what is going on. I felt much better about my situation after seeing her. Her staff was extremely nice and efficient as well.

I would recommend Dr McManus very highly. As a medical professional myself, she is very experienced, compassionate, explains all procedures in detail. I felt totally confident she would have my best interest at heart.

Appt. Was Great no wait time... very informative, told us exactly what we needed to know and what she found what she did and what are the next steps of treatment..Got all information from appts on the portal when I woke up next Morning. Very confident in the staff and doctor..
