My mother's colon cancer was misdiagnosed by this dr. She had an entire year & a half to catch it, but was on vacation most of the time. She showed up to every appointment saying she had lower abdominal pressure. This dr. (who is a low talker) allowed the polyps to grow into tumors. I took her thru emergency where she was already in stage 4 colon cancer which took her life..

Not the best experience. I’m an obese patient with OA in both knees and I needed the appointment for medication for pain but not no narco type meds. To make a long story short. She seen my xrays of both knees and seen I had gel shots in both knees that did not work. Her recommendation to me was to have weight loss surgery. Now I filled out my medical history out and they had this before scheduling my appointment which had my weight on it. If they didn’t think they could help me why schedule the appointment ? Was it for the money ? I wasn’t there for information on weight loss surgery I was there for pain in my knee’s. Are all these doctors only there to help the thinner people only ? I feel discriminated against. The reason I am the size I am is because of trusting medical doctors and now I can not even get medication for pain. Wrong wrong wrong. If you’re on the bigger side save your time and money find a better doctor that cares.

I have had 3 appointments with Dr. Soares. Two telemedicine and one in person. In all instances Dr. Soares is very attentive, thorough, engaged and kind. She listens, remembers details from prior visits, and takes her time explaining the testing, diagnosis, and treatment processes and answers all questions. I highly recommend her. The only issue was that a prescription was sent with wrong info, but will be resolved. Minor hiccup overall.

Do not recommend at all! I didn't have a health insurance at the time I made an appointment, so I was concerned about the costs of the first visit with rheumatologist Surayya Soares. At the front desk I was told the visit would cost $80 - $100. Made an appointment, came, saw the doctor, paid cash $102 and after two weeks got a bill for additional $60. Called place couple times to figure out why it is more than what they told me. Couldn't get a hold of the manager. Every time I called they kept telling me she was on the other line and that she would call me back and never did! Their explanation was redicilous!!! They told me they can't estimate the costs of the visit, but they didn't tell me that before making appointment. My visit was first basic consultation. Very unprofessional! I am not impressed with the doctor either! Do not recommend at all! cant leave a review on expertise since she has refured me to u of m . I can say I waited 7 months to see her. she was thorough but she canceled follow up twice and I had to wait an additional 3 months to get results. 2 meds were prescribed called twice when they failed to call them in and when they did it was the wrong ones. I am a bit disappointed in my treatment with her. at least she was honest and said she was unable to diagnose me

A good doctor and a good person. Dr. Surraya runs the right tests, asks the right questions and takes my input seriously. It is obvious that she enjoys her job and is sincerely concerned about the quality of life of her patients. I recommend Dr. Soares.

Did not communicate well. Did not offer any information. Answered all my questions with yes, no or maybe answers. Said I might have two different diagnosis, but wasn’t sure which one. Never go here. I’ve been going to the RA doctor for years. And I needed a new one from moving locally. Awe full . Can’t understand her , and doesn’t care Patient BEWARE

Appointments difficult to schedule and the doctor spends very little time with patients

Dr. Soares is an experienced professional specialist in her area of expertise. She is very knowledgeable, patient, caring, understanding and willing to take her time to explain answers. I highly recommend her!

Saw her for chronic back pain due to a bad fall. Ordered x-rays, said my back was "fine", yet all other drs. could see an issue on the x-rays. Treated me like I was lying. She prescribed for me Cymbalta, a dangerous psychiatric med to be used off-label for back pain, saying it had "no side effects", which is a lie. So I got treated like a drug seeker because of my back pain and got a spin off. Looked at my records later said "Anxiety/Depression", NOT what I was seeing a Rheum. for at all!
