Had wild paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia that was becoming unmanageable with meds and a few trips to the ER. First I went to another MD, let's say Dr. X, at the PAMF Cardiology Dept. He pulled a pamphlet explaining my problem and presented the pacemaker as THE solution. Then, for a second opinion, I went to see Dr. Chun who suggested a one-night inpatient procedure (the offensive cells are offed either with heat or cold). During my one night in the recovery unit I heard Dr. X talking to the patient next to me... he was recovering from a pacemaker procedure... that could have been my fate. This was 6 years ago.
