Dr. Stuart Mark Weil

Post op care is vey poor. He showed no concern to me after my surgery. I told him over and over about my pain after my ACDF Surgery. Every time he told me that’s normal. Instead of taking my concerns as a real issue telling me the pain will go away. Turns out after consulting with another neurosurgeon disk C-3 is degenerative. C-4 through C-6 was the procedure Dr Stuart done. Dr Stuart saw that C-3 was degenerative on the first MRI so why did he not correct that too while he was doing the other disk? Instead he left me with the same pain I had before the surgery.

My Experience from beginning to end was Superior from every single individual who works for and with Dr. Weil; Steve, Clayton, Mary, Shelby are all models for who I would want working for and with me. Dr. Weil himself, is one of the finest, down to earth, amazing neurosurgeons I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Dr. Weil and his team, literally changed the "quality" of my life from "horrific pain" to "on my way to recovery". I would recommend Dr Weil, his contemporaries, personnel and facilities he recommends and uses to anyone with back, nerve and spine (vertebrae) issues, damage etc., they changed my life. Everyone in his office and facilities "all" went above and beyond the call of duty to help me and I appreciate them "all" more than words can describe. Basically "Awesome Experience" from beginning to "this moment" (healing, but moving in the right direction)

I called this office because I have been in pain for over 12 years I have needed surgery for over 5 years or more .I have excellent insurance and have more than one insurance. BUT THE OFFICE MANAGER TREATED ME LIKE I WAS DIRT.SHE TOLD ME THAT ONE OF MY INSURANCE DIDNT HAVE OUTOF NET WORK COST ,WHICH WASNT TRUE ALL OF MY INSURANCES ARE PPO andI INNETWORK AND OUT OF NETWORK ALLOWANCES. I AM A FEDERAL EMPLOYEE AND A MILITARY SPOUSE. I HAVE THE MONEY TO PAY WHAT EVER NEEDS TO BE DONE THEN SHE TOLD ME SHE COULDNT TAKE MY FEDERAL INSURANCE WHICH AFTERWARDS WE FOUND OUT THAT WAS A LIE .I HAVE BEEN A NURSE FOR OVER 26 YEARS BOTH ON THE FLOOR AND ADMIN. Dr. Weil performed microdiscectomy on my lower back. He was very professional but also friendly. He answered all my questions and I did not feel rushed or unimportant.

Fabulous surgeon. Had disc issue in neck, went to several other orthopedic surgeons who only prescribed heavy drugs and PT. DR. Weil, after careful review, said "you need neck surgury ASAP". Did the job, no pain or recovery. He is a very skilled technical craftsman on neurosurgery when others are mere pill and PT hacks. Don't trust your critical care to anyone else. Fabulous surgeon. This guy is the real deal. Great doctor

Dr. Weil performed cervical disc surgery replacement surgery about a year ago. Most importantly, my radicular pain was gone the moment I woke up from surgery and has not recurred in the eleven months since. His bona fides speak for themselves. I found him to be friendly, warm, kind, and accessible. I was offered the option of having the surgery done at St. Luke's or at an outpatient surgery center. I went with the latter. I was one of only a few patients having surgery that morning. It was easy to get to, easy to park, and easy for my family to pick me up. (I have heard negative things about the St. Luke's surgical center but have no personal knowledge concerning it.) I feel for the folks who had negative experiences because they weren't able to get insurance to cover their claims. Personally, I find it hard to overstate the overall positivity of my experience with him. Just be prepared to listen to country music borderline blaring through the speakers in the waiting room!

I'm 1 year post from a ACDF to relieve spinal cord compression. I couldn't walk a straight line for more than 2-3 steps before losing balance....after surgery, immediately, that problem was solved. I thought his office setup was perfect. Not a big practice....entirely a solo practice operation. Weil is a highly recommended doc. The first BCM doc I saw wanted to do 9 hrs of surgery; Weil solved it all with a 2 hr surgery.... Top notch. Top Tier.

Dr. Weil is the absolute best! I’ve had neck and back surgery by Dr. Weil. I am 100% pleased with the outcome. He listens and answers questions and has your best interest in deciding that surgery is necessary. He will not do surgery unless it is an absolute necessity. I highly recommend Dr. Weil

From scheduling appt to follow-up with Dr. Weil everything was handled very well. The office staff was courteous and prompt. They made sure I understood what was expected from me. Dr. Weil is amazingly patient, kind and sensitive. He took the time to very clearly explain my condition and what was necessary - even the pain that would be associated post surgery. Surgery was successful and I am pain free. During follow-up he once again was clear on expectations. He discussed weight loss and exercise in a sensitive and beneficial way. By far one of the most caring surgeons I've had.

Dr. Weil removed a herniated disc L4/L5 in Nov. 1996. Yes 1996...I can truly say my back ordeal was resolved and I have had no additional pain since 1996. He was the 4th doctor that I saw that year. I got my life back after having surgery with Dr. Weil

Absolutely amazing neurosurgeon! He’s very informative concerning my procedure to be done. He is professional and showed me what needed to be done with visual spinal graphic models. I needed surgery years ago but the doctor scared me to death so I put it off. Dr Weil was my second opinion and I’m utterly happy with Dr Weil. I wasn’t scared anymore and surgery was scheduled immediately. I am now 2 weeks after surgery and am completely pleased with my recovery thus far. His nurse and office staff are charming as well. Dr. Weil was and is the only doctor to ever help me with my back pain. He performed a microdiscectomy on my low back a couple years ago. I was able to play Division 1 collegiate tennis because of him. I was able to continue leading the life I once had because of him. He's a wonderful doctor that will present the facts. Highly recommend!

Dr. Weil is incredible. He removed a hemangioblastoma and cyst the size of a plum that was pressing on my husband's brain. Dr. Weil explains everything thoroughly and makes sure you are informed the whole way through. He has a calming demeanor as well. My husband was able to leave the hospital the day after his brain surgery. Amazing. I cannot praise him enough.

Severe herniated disc in my back. Stellar surgeon, explains procedures, and answers any questions you have.

If you don't have money, and are an average person do NOT come here! Doctor seemed uninterested and down right arrogant in his demeanor. Rude to me and my family. Only interested in doing surgery and filling his pockets.

From my personal experience a bad practitioner. I had a L1-L2 herniation from a sports related injury that landed me in the ER. After being discharged we sought out different Doctors. We came to Dr. Weil once we heard good things from a family friend. As soon as we came into his office it was a hostile environment- rude reception and check in. Once we finally saw the doctor after waiting 40 mins past our appointed time (he was coming from a surgery), he was welcoming at first but quickly became dismissive. I'm not sure if this was because I was young, or because I was trying to correct him with the information I had gotten from the hospital. Mind you, he had not even seen the MRI imaging for himself. I was trying to explain the best I could in detail what we were told at the ER. I felt not taken seriously. I felt more frustrated than before coming in. I seriously suggest he humble himself and take more time to listen to his patients concerns. Whether young, old, white, or black. From my personal experience a bad practitioner. I was with this doctor because a had bad hernia in my lower back before visited Dr. Weil I was with other Dr that recommend sergury too but that Dr. Told me he will take off the whole disc and that’s why I looked to second opinion and Lucky to my I found this great Dr.weil he told me that better way to tread my problem he told my 3 options : therapy, inyection and sergury. Dr. Weil knew just what to do, and I'm out of pain. It's been 18 months, and my life is 100% better. Everyone else warned me to avoid surgery, and I did for several miserable years. Nothing else would work for me but surgery did.

Dr. Weil is an outstanding doctor. While I ultimately underwent surgery, he started off my treatment with a very conservative approach. When it became apparent that surgery was necessary, he fixed the problem. Would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

I was not happy with my resent visit with Dr. Weil. I felt as though I wasted both of our time. His attitude was extremely snug. 3 previous spine surgeries He showed absolutely no sympathy, empathy, or concern as for as the pain that I have experienced for the past 3 weeks He recommended that I have injections yet the doctor that performs the injections recommended me to him. I told him I was informed injections would not help. He said; it is what it is. WOW I would NOT recommend him to anyone

Don't trust these ratings. I have tried it twice and wasn't pleased with the doctor's that I chose from all these high ratings. All I did was waste my time on both this doctor and the previous one that I chose from here. I finally broke down and contacted an old family doctor who got me in touch with a top notch Neurosurgeon who was able to fix my problems with a minimally invasive procedure, to get the herniated disks off the nerves, that was causing all my pain.

Dr Weil performed surgery on me a week ago this past Friday for Cervical Stenosis. I'm a huge baby when it comes to surgery, so I was very apprehensive. He assured me that it would be fine. Surgery went well, 1st week post op pain handled well with medication he prescribed. Had my dressing removed today. He did an awesome job cosmetically in the area of the incision. I was almost hoping for like a gnarly "pirate scar" (it's a guy thing". It is barely even noticeable. Very happy so far.

I experienced a C4-C5 pinched nerve in 2013 that limited my left arm movement. Dr. Weil diagnosed me and within 2 days I was in surgery for ACDF. This time I experienced compression in L4-L5 in which oDr. Weil diagnosed in 2/2017. I tried 5 epidural injections back to back to only receive about 30-45 days of relief. I was then scheduled for 9/6/2017 but Dr. Weil moved my case to 8/31/2017 because I was in severe pain. Thank you Thank you Dr. Weil for succesful Laminectomy L4-5.. He is the BEST

Just left the office. The office atmosphere is welcoming and the wait was under 10 minutes. Dr. Weil displayed patience with my questions and put me at ease regarding my Chiara Malformation. I can tell he enjoys what he does and helping people. I appreciate doctors who take time out with concerns of their patients and throughly explain in a language that's understandable. "My husband was immediately able to walk 15 minutes after surgery and only took had to take 1 pain pill the night of surgery at home. Then started a new job 2 weeks later." Also Dr. Weil as able to determine that it was my piriformis (muscle, located in the buttock region, spasms and causes buttock pain ) that was causing the pain to go down to my toes instead of L7-8 that a orthopedic doctor said. Dr. Weil is an amazing neurosurgeon. He made me feel like my 3 level ACDF (Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion) was his artwork. He had every bit of confidence that he did the best job and better than anyone else could have done. I've asked multiple surgeons what they think of the final X-Ray and they all said it was perfect... AND no nerve damage. I do have to say, he would not give me the pain meds I needed, so it was a horrible experience post-op, but totally worth it NOW for this surgeon

Dr. Weil was a great surgeon, very thorough and his work is very skilled. We all have Super Stars in every field of the industry. Well, Dr. Weil is just that, a professional who gave me my life back. I am a worker Bee, sure I enjoy working with my hands. I use my body to build Decks, Patios and what ever I want. To be laid up on my right side for three months was horrible at best. I thought that my life was over. Through the skilled hands of Dr. Weil, well I am back in operation again. Only this time, I am smart about lifting and taking care of the new lease on life. As other reviewers, I had an awesome experience with Dr. Weil. He went over my MRI with me and explained the procedure in detail. I had a herniated disc L5/S1 that pinched my sciatic nerve on the right side to the point I couldn't walk. After surgery all the sciatic pain was gone in my buttock and leg. I was immediately able to walk 15 minutes after surgery and walk stairs. YOU HAVE TO WALK TO GET BETTER!!! After about 4 days I was able to walk half a mile and after 1 week I was at a mile. After about 3 weeks I was walking 2-3 miles and at 1 month I was walking 4-5 miles a day and doing the elliptical. The elliptical gave me a greater range of motion than walking and I gained flexibility quickly after starting the elliptical. I feel great today, Dr. Weil was a real blessing!!! I had my herniated L3 operated on 8 years ago by Dr. Weil, Stuart. He was very nice and took the time to explain everything to me in detail and I did not feel rushed. Before seeing him I had seen a few chiropractors, several orthopedic doctors, and one nerve specialist. They all recommended surgery and if I was going to have surgery I wanted someone great to do it. This doctor came to me as a referral from a friend. I let the doctor know that I wasn't scared of a scar to make the cut as large as needed. Yet, the scar is very small. I was in and out that same day and the recovery was easy. I even made a mistake and lifted something heavy afterwards and was worried. No issues. Since then my back has bothered me time to time when bending over long periods of time. Now my L4&5 are herniated and when going to doctors and chiropractors they are all impressed with how small the scar is and how my L3 seems to have healed. I was just recommended to this same doctor from my current chiropractor and seeing that he recommended me to my previous surgeon without knowing, I felt a need to write this review.
