Dr. Stuart Sugihara

Dr Stuart Sugihara is very unprofessional. I would not advise anyone to visit his practice let along let him touch you. Unfortunately I was referred here without first doing my homework. Upon arrival I was already given an attitude because of the type of insurance I presented. Albeit another doctor in the Kuakini Medical group sent me here. I guess they failed to communicate with each other. Throughout our entire conversion I was interrupted cut short and told my previous symptom was not a symptom because I was no longer showing symptoms even though it took a total of 8 days to even be seen. I am not at all confident in his diagnosis and will definitely not bother following up let alone waste my time at this practice again. Reader beware!

My siblings and I care for my mother, so it is usually my sister who takes my mother to Dr. Sugihara. This particular time I had to bring in my mother to see him. When it was my mother's turn to see Dr. Sugihara, I began explaining to him my mother's symptoms and what I was currently doing to treat this problem. Wow! His bed side manner was horrible! He drilled me with questions about my mother's health and when I tried to answer them, he wouldn't let me finish answering my question. He speaks so quickly, so when I talked to him it was difficult to absorb all that he was saying to me. When I visit my doctors, they would usually print out information for me so that I would not forget it; however, he wanted me to write down the instructions on a piece of paper. Later, I called my sister about Dr. Sugihara's behavior and she said that he is the same with her when she takes my mother to see him and has even said inappropriate things to her.

Dr. Sugihara needs to work on his communication skill with his patients. Actually, my mother is his patient, but I care for her so I needed to bring her to his office a particular time that she was not feeling well. His bedside manner is awful! He asks me questions, but does not listen to me when I try to answer him. He says inappropriate things. I am going to look for another doctor.
