Along with Dr. Burgess being the best his staff is great, especially Hunter, who goes above and beyond to make sure my mom, the patient, is comfortable! He is courteous, professional and very compassionate which is greatly appreciated! He is a big asset to the practice! Thank you and keep up the great work!

This was my first time visiting Dr. Burgess. I was referred by my optometrist because of PVD. Dr Burgess and staff were absolutely phenomenal and exceeded my expectations beginning with being able to see me same day. He made me feel at ease and addressed my concerns with kindness. from the emergency surgery after referral from my regular ophthalmologist, to the follow-up visits afterwards--Dr. Burgess and his colleagues at Fort Lauderdale Eye Institute have taken GREAT care of me! front desk folks are friendly and welcoming; the other professionals from exam to metrics are wonderful, personable, conversational--and make what might be a less than pleasant experience much more tolerable. would HIGHLY recommend FLEI, and Dr. Burgess. specifically Dr. Burgess manner is very professional; he's straightforward but caring; I liked his warm and direct manner. thank you to FLEI for your kind, professional, treatment!

My mom was being treated by Dr Burgess. She saw him on the 25th, and woke up blind on the 27th. She got an infection from the procedure that ruined her retina. Dr Burgess did not even have the antibiotics to give her to stop the infection. I had to rush her to Bascom Palmer Eye institute for emergency surgery. She waited there by herself for 12 hours to get that surgery as the infection was destroying her sight. She can no longer work, she can no longer drive, she can no longer leave the house by herself. It is a tragedy and would not have happened if he was not her doctor. When I asked him why did this happen at his office he simply gave me a statistic, "1 in 4500 people will have this happen." Don't be one of Dr Burgess' statistics. Spare yourself

Dr. Burgess’ entire staff is friendly, helpful & maintain CDC Covid-19 precautions. Each have answered any questions I might ask & have not seemed annoyed to do so. Dr. Burgess & assistants have insured that my macular degeneration eye injections are PAINLESS & without complications for almost ten years. I am still independent & driving thanks to God, Avastin & the Eye Institute staff! A new patient need not fear going to an appointment.

Dr. Burgess is top notch! Answers all questions completely! Excellent patient concern! His facility, Fort Lauderdale Eye Institute, is a large facility, but is one of the more well run and efficient providers I have ever received care from!

Wonderful surgeon, great caring staff at both offices, explained it all clearly & allayed my fears about retinal detachment surgery. Still healing but feeling a lot better. Follow ups carefully monitored & I feel that I’m in great hands! Would highly recommend.

On Wednesday, September 22, 2016, I was diagnosed with a large retinal tear in my right eye. My primary care eye doctor recommended that I immediately go to your facility for specialized treatment. She recommended Dr. Burgess. An appointment was set up and Dr. Burgess did a thorough exam of my condition, fully explained the procedure and recovery, and immediately scheduled me for surgery. It was exceptionally successful

I was referred to Dr. Burgess by my Opthamologist. Dr. Burgess took the time to properly assess and monitor my case before recommending surgery. I obtained a second opinion. The consulting physician agreed with Dr. Burgess's diagnosis and recommendation of surgery. Dr. Burgess was very accommodating. He performed the surgery on days that coincided with my schedule. The operation was performed at a location that was clean and specially designed for eye operations. The surgery was successful.

Dr.Burgess took care of my father,Augustine K., for many years.He was both compassionate and knowledgeable.I would recommend him to anyone needing a specialist for the eyes.The office staff was also very kind.
