Dr Waltrip is a godsend to me. He's kind, compassionate and diligent in HIS care of me. I've had 14 spinal fusions and hip replacenents in 20 years. The pain, especially from the fusions, was excruciating, and beginning in 2001, well-intended but misinformed pain specialists prescribed opioids in abundance. As the public started learning people were dying from overdoses (including my then-doctor), I was desperate to find someone responsible, who could help me manage the pain I will likely always live with, but not drugged to the gills. I am convinced Dr Waltrip saved my life. I see him once a month and am now on minuscule doses of meds compared to where I was at 5 years ago. I feel alert and have my brain back. Dr Waltrip stays current with state of the art alternative remedies. He's well-connected with the best physicians at Cedars who can perform procedures that offer enormous relief. I don't know what I'd do without Dr Waltrip. If I could give HIM 10 stars, I would. So why doesn't he get 5? His staff. His staff. His staff. My consistent experience of them over 5 years has pretty consistently been poor. They're rude, careless and hold grudges if you dare to point out how they've let important things fall through the cracks which happens several times a year. Yet new staff members have twice asked me to tell Dr Waltrip how great they are. The other staff member barely acknowledges me when I see Dr Waltrip in person and responds to a hello with a grunt under her breath. Last month during my zoom visit she wouldn't look into the camera at me until I asked her if SHE'S okay only then to get her attention and hear about her toothache as I watched her stuff food into her mouth. Aren't appointments supposed to be MY time?? There's more ~ when I had a zoom visit just this week with Dr Waltrip's better assistant (or so I thought), the grudge holder was also present though didn't make herself known with a hello or a Good Morning. I noticed part of her arm in and out of my view and could hear her whispering. It felt like eavesdropping. Just as when I see any physician in person, if a staff member takes me to an exam room to ask me questions first, they customarily introduce themselves. A zoom appointment is no different. It's called being a professional. And when you're in chronic pain, which is challenging enough, the last thing you need is to deal with is nonsense like that. I recommend Dr Waltrip himself without hesitation. He's given me a miracle. But best have a very thick skin when it comes to his staff and best know ways around them when things Dr Waltrip recommends or prescribes fall through the cracks.

I really benefited from seeing Dr. Waltrip for my chronic neck pain, as he was able to direct me to a physical therapist who I love! He took the time to review my imaging and give me recommendations for non-surgical approaches to managing my pain and I have been much better off because of it. Susan his office assistant is also very accommodating and helpful. I had a great experience with the doctor, his employees and most importantly, my results! Beware - he's only in it for the money! 6 months ago I might have left Dr. Waltrip a nice review. I have seen him SO many times for chronic back pain issues. He's referred me to get MRIs, facet joint injections, cortisone epidurals, physical therapy, the list goes on and on. I've cried in his office confiding how hard it feels to be 26 years old with terrible back pain for 8 years. While he's never been able to offer me a good solution, I trusted the relationship I had built with him over the
