Dr. Steven R Speth

Dr Speth wanted to fuse my back clear up the base of my head. I asked for a certain surgeon to assist. He turned sideways and stretched his full height while saying that the surgeon had to be in good shape to do a back surgery. I went to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN instead. I was very happy with the results.

Dr. Speth operated on my spine twice and I am very pleased. He did excellent work, he insists his patients receive the best possible care by hospital staff. He is very careful to only operate when it is necessary. I found his bedside manner to be quite pleasant. I would recommend Dr. Speth.

Dr. Speth is far and away the best doctor in any specialty that I have ever seen or even heard of. If he has retired it is most significant loss possible to the field of medicine.

I can not say enough about this amazing surgeon! I am ballet teacher and have been teaching for 26 years there was a time I could not stand , walk or sit in a car for very long! I was teaching from a chair on good days sleeping on ice packs you name it anything and everything to find some comfort. December 20th that all changed Dr. Speth performed a discectomy which gave me my life back. I am teaching like I should be I am skiing with my family I am able to slowly start running again. His bedside manner .staff from nurses to anesthesiologist were top notch! when you teenage daughters say mom it is so good to have you back to your old self! Thank you Dr.Speth for everything!

When I needed my back fused to stop the horrible pain, Dr. Speth gave me a 50% chance of survival. Also, he stretched his full length and said that the surgeon has to be in good shape to do the surgery. (I asked him whether or not the neurosurgeon who assisted Dr. Sorini when he was alive could assist with this surgery.} I had the surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. The surgery went well.

I would not recommend due to my family member having sepsis (hospital acquired) missed by him and her dying 23 days postop after being put on 3 antibiotics and 2 blood pressure medications to help her survive. He then had the nerve to say it was her fault because she made him do the surgery.

Dr Speth listens well, explains your options, has a sense of humor, and makes sure his patient is well cared for by the hospital staff. He is knowledgeable does a good job.
