Dr. S is a legend, have known him for 30 plus years, it would be insulting to "review" him. A brilliant and caring doctor.

Dr. Schutzer provided excellent care. His high level of expertise, coupled with his knowledge and obvious compassion made for a very positive visit. The office runs smoothly with minimal waiting.

Dr. Was nice but office staff is HORRIBLE

I am so much better off after my knee replacement. Last year every step was painful. Today I have no pain at all. I'm sure this is due largely to Dr.Schutzer's surgical skills.

Dr. Schutzer replaced both of my knees in the past and now a hip in February. He is an excellent surgeon who explained every detail of each surgery and answered all my questions. I am now pain free. I highly recommend Dr. Schutzer.

Open airy pleasant space. I was acknowledged when I came in and only waited a few minutes since I’d done the e-checkin. I was brought in for preliminaries before I had even completed a form I was given. Everyone was gracious, friendly, kind and helpful.

Staff friendly and attentive, Polite and professional. Made us feel very comfortable.

Great to have full functionality restored to me knee. Only downside was that the medications prescribed disrupted sleep for the first 8 weeks post surgery, which delayed recovery. Dr Schutzer and his team were great; very responsive, concerned and kind.

Dr. Schutzer is highly skilled, attentive, a good listener and communicator, and has excellent support staff. My knee replacement was a textbook success.

Dr. Steven Schutzer and Sharon Hull (APRN) are both very compassionate and skilled in what they do. My Dad had right hip surgery in May 2021. He's recovering very well at 90 years old and he's 100% pain free. Dr. Schutzer performed the same right hip surgery for me back in 2016. Both Dad and I have experienced excellent results and we're now both pain free. Dr. Schutzer is very patient and thorough before, during and after surgery. His bedside manner is excellent. He is a skilled surgeon who really knows his business. Sharon is great also, her medical knowledge along with her post surgery follow-up goes above and beyond. I highly recommend both Dr. Schutzer and Sharon. Steve D.

He listens, is compassionate, personable, and does not rush the patient either at office visits or into surgery. The partial knee replacement surgery he performed on me resulted in an excellent outcome, minimal post-surgical pain and a short rehab at home 2 weeks after which I was walking 1/2 mile and up and down stairs pain free. My daughter previously had the same experience with Dr. Schutzer for her hip replacement. We commend too his APRN, Sharon Hull, who assists in surgery and an angel in the office as well!

Dr. Schutzer listened to my knee pain complaints very patiently. He was very supportive of doing surgery (knee replacement) on my left knee. I am very pleased with the results. I have no pain in that knee and it is now stronger than before surgery.

I cannot recommend Dr. Schutzer and his team highly enough. They combine a high degree of skill with compassion and a willingness to spend as much as time as needed for the patient to feel confident in the care received. The surgical follow up was very helpful and response to phone calls was prompt. I have already recommended Dr. Schutzer to two others. At times Kiana can be brusque on the phone but she is always professional and responsive to patient needs. When the time comes to replace my other hip, I will definitely return.

Total knee replacement/June 2020. results are much better than I would’ve imagined. To live without pain in every endeavor is a wonderful blessing. My wife and I and two dogs climbed Mt. Sunapee in the late fall of 2020. Very Grateful to Dr. Schutzer and his team and facilities for making something so incredible as this operation seem so simple.

Very caring and compassionate. Very good with patient follow up. Performed a minor miracle with my hips, since they were in such bad shape.

Dr. Schutzer, Sharon Hull, remainder of his staff and the entire OAH team @ St. Francis Hospital = THE BEST! I had my left hip replacement in early Oct 2020. I could not be happier with the results from pre-op to post-op exercises, etc. I was a little apprehensive with the surgery, but now looking forward to getting the other hip done in the near future. I can't say enough about his bed side manner and the telephone call the day before surgery to check up on how I was doing was totally unexpected, but appreciated! I would absolutely recommend Dr. Schutzer and his team without question.

Dr. Schutzer performed a total knee replacement on my right knee. My experience far exceeded my expectations. He and his team worked in perfect unison from beginning to end. The end result was a fully operational knee that works much better than before the procedure... Bravo, thanks for all the you do!

Dr. Schutzer is an exceptional surgeon. He replaced my left hip 7 years go and my right hip just recently. The procedures was again, flawless. He makes you feel like you are his only patient I cannot say enough about his mannerism let alone his expertise. His team is great too!

I had my right hip replaced three months ago. From the moment I walked into his office I was at ease. (Dr. Schutzer operated on my son 15 years previous and remembered.) He explained everything and took the time to answer any questions I had. The morning of surgery he came in, asked if I had questions, and was very apologetic when my surgery was delayed (less than an hour) due to an emergency. Dr. Schutzer has a fabulous, warm bedside manner - while remaining very professional. I stayed overnight and the relief of pain was instant. Very easy surgery to recover from. Can't wait to have the other side done!

Left hip replacement completed 3 months ago. Recovery went as described in the pre-op information. Any and all questions/concerns were responded to professionally and quickly via a messaging application made available to patients. This app also provided videos regarding pre and post op exercises. Walking and exercises were the only therapy recommended and it worked great. I am 61 years old. My activities were greatly limited and I was always in a varied level of pain before surgery. Now I am virtually pain free in the hip area and can walk until fatigue (not pain) hits. Pain used to limit my walking to about 10 minutes max. I don’t normally complete reviews but I would recommend Dr Schutzer and his team without any reservations.

Dr. Shutzer was always professional and just a great Doctor! My hip surgery went flawlessly and I’m very satisfied .

DR. Schutzer is a SUPERIOR surgeon. He replaced my right hip. I was back to my old self in a couple of weeks. His bedside manner is the best that I had ever experienced. He explained everything before the procedure to put me at ease. He took the time to answer all of my questions. I very highly recommend DR. Schutzer.

Everything about my experience with Dr. Shutzer and his staff was top notch. I had my right hip replaced and I was well prepared both pre and post op for everything. I stayed overnight at St. Francis and was very pleased with the care I received. It will be one year in December since my surgery and I am back to doing everything I love, walking, yoga, gardening etc. and I am pain free. Dr. Shutzer has a very calming and reassuring way about him. I am a nurse (we can be the worst patients) and I felt safe and in good hands throughout the entire process. Thank you.

Dr Schutzer has done 2 knee replacements and a hip replacement for me, he is a wonderful physician, he is patient, explains everything in detail, has a great bedside manner and the follow up is a full year after each surgery. I cannot say enough and would recommend him highly!

Did my left hip. The operation was successful and virtually pain free (within reason). Other medical problems occurred, but they had nothing to do with Dr. Shutzer. I would not hesitate to let him do my other hip (it may come to that). I wish he had spent more personal time with me. His nurses, while knowledgeable, were not as reassuring as the surgeon would be. When dealing with him, he was very friendly.

I had a total knee replacement. Dr. Schutzer explained the procedure well, provided pre-op exercises and computerized information that gave me confidence. I was walking the same day after the surgery! I recovered well (the exercises really helped) and am amazed how strong my knee is now. I was going to put off surgery as long as possible - now I am so glad I did it - I can move without pain. Dr. Schutzer had to convince me to do it while I was healthy. I stayed overnight at the hospital. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Everything was so clean. Even the food was good.

New knee in June 2019. Procedure went smoothly as did recovery. Limited activity after 3 months, almost full activity by 6 months.

Dr. Schutzer and his staff are professional, yet very caring. He is upfront about what to expect in order to have reasonable expectations and worked with me to ensure the outcome possible.

Dr. Schutzer replaced my right hip in 2004 at Hartford Hospital with no problems since. He and his team at St. Francis haven't missed a beat since. The levels of professionalism, patient education, pre-op planning, and follow through are 2nd to none.

My mom was in her 70’s when she had. Knee replacement by Dr Schutzer. It lasted for 13years. At this time she started to experience excruciating pain. In the meantime she also had surgery on two heart blockages. When we visited with Dr Schutzer he saw her once transfers her care to an assistant who said nothing could be done but a cumbersome brace just difficult to get around. Her cardiologist came to the rescue and got a wonderful orthopedic dr to replace the old implant and she lived free of knee pain for 10 more years. So what do I think of DR Schutzer you can guess for yourself. Stay away ftom him if you will be aging

I am three months out from surgery and remain 'very pleased' with my new hip and with my relatively painless recovery. I am pleased to have had Dr. Schutzer's level of expertise at the helm in my total hip replacement. Just talking with him during my initial, office visit gave me that much needed sense of calm and assurance that everything would indeed go well. I continue to think of him as 'a privilege' who I've been fortunate enough to cross paths with and who I will now consider for reconstruction of a somewhat deformed, wayward knee.

Procedure was accurately described and recovery went better than expected

Fantastic results... I'm about 12 weeks post-op and I'm almost back to all normal activities. I'm convinced that the recommended walking therapy was the secret for me. I'm now walking 2-3 miles a day... might not sound like much but I'm not normally a walker.... and now my dog gets tired before I do. :-). Thank you so much Dr Schutzer you gave me back my active life! For anyone contemplating having total hip replacement - this is the guy to go too.

I found that each visit to Dr. Schutzer to be a pleasant experience from the very first time that I limped into his office in Glastonbury seeking advice and help to each additional visit which resulted in two knee replacement surgeries. Dr Schutzer is a very friendly professional who took the time to explain all that mattered. I became quite calm with his approach to fixing my wrecked knee's, especially the last robotic surgery. I Highly recommend Dr. Schutzer, Sharon and his excellent staff.

I had a total hip replacement on June 27 2018. I received pain meds on the same day around 2pm, that was the last time I needed pain meds. I myself was totally amazed that I didn't need them. My hip felt a little sore and that's it. 2 days later on Friday I went for a 1.5 mile walk in the morning and another 1.5 mile walk in the evening, totally amazing. I am in healthcare and have work with many physicians and surgeons in all specialties through out my career. I had a total left hip replacement with great results. No more restriction in movement or pain. Dr Schutzer is the best. He defines skilled, high quality, compassionate care. He and his team listen and focus on a post operative care plan that meets your individual needs and expedites recovery. They are caring, compassionate and truly are the BEST.

Great results. Sounds like the person complaining about no PT is a little lazy. Dr. S was right, walking was the best for rehab

I had total hip replacement on June 27 2018. I was amazed that I didn't need any pain meds. I was released the next day. On Friday the 29 I walked 1.5 miles in the morning and 1.5 miles in the evening. I am totally amazed. He told me my pt is walking, so I walk. I couldn't ask for a better Dr, totally amazing.

In 2017, I had both hips replaced six weeks apart. Dr. Schutzer and his CJRC team did an amazing job on both of them. Great communication throughout - brief hospital stay (1 day) each time - excellent follow-up. Compassionate care in a truly superior facility that has the orthopedic surgery process refined nearly to perfection, while believing it can always be just a little better. 100% recommendation - na make that 110%

I have had left knee replacement surgery in 2015 with fantastic results. Recently I had a total right hip replacement with again fantastic results. Dr Schutzer and Sharon Hull are the best. Caring supportive and always answer your questions. They are also very cautious with procedures, infections and the overall health of their patients. I recently had a Total knee replacement. Dr. Schutzer was very thorough, from explaining my options to what to expect from the procedure. He was always available and accessible and followed up with me each day during my inpatient stay. To say that CJRI is a well oiled professional machine is an understatement. I can honestly say the entire experience well exceeded my expectation.

2 weeks ago, I had a total right hip replacement. I am in awe of the work of art I saw on my recent X-Ray, I am walking and recovering very well. Dr. Schutzer treated me with extreme care and the utmost clarity. All of my family and neighbors are surprised how well I am walking

Felt that $$ was a motivating factor in his recommending surgery. in fact,when i was having 2nd thoughts,he told me this isn't about the money even though i never considered that as a reason for not having the procedure. Surgery went well,but he does not recommend any PT,only walking (tough in winter). When I requested PT,it took a week of my calling daily for him to ok it(4 wks post). My hip muscles & tendons are still not right (surgery 2+ yrs ago). Im 58, PT would've helped dramatically.

Dr. Schutzer is so awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is old school. He controls everything, he checks everything and you get the sense that he loves his work. I cannot recommend this doctor enough - if you need to have work done - I'd wait until he was available.
