True professional
My encounters have always been wonderful. The staff is just as caring and excellent as Dr. Poletti. They are prompt, considerate, effective. Dr. Poletti performed neck surgery in 2016 and I actually had surgery on my Lumbar region today!! I can already feel the positive results. East Cooper Hospital is amazing too. If you have any type of orthopedic issues you will never regret coming there. I drive 2 1/2 hours and it’s definitely worth every minute!! I could go on and on but hopefully this honest review helps with any decisions you may be making. God bless!! The picture below is me right out of recovery from Lumbar Surgery!!
There are not enough words to express how great he and his staff are. Top notch!!
Excellent, caring Could not have been happier unless he had good news to share.
Well worth the trips from Cherry Grove Beach to be pain free after years of injections and pain. Very professional personal care from him, his staff, and East Cooper Med.
Dr. Poletti is a great doctor with great PA's. He has taken such great care of me. I left a different doctor to come to Dr. Poletti because the other doctor didn't want to fix me, he just wanted to collect money each month by my visits.

The best I am going to like this Dr.
Dr. Poletti seems to be a wonderful doctor. He is very knowledgeable in his field, and I have the most confidence in his diagnosis. I would highly recommend him.
Me and my wife drive 3:hours and 20 minutes one way to see Dr.Poletti because of the knowledge he has for his profession

he understands my pain he listens to me as a patient and he explains everything he's doing what I should do and should not do he is an awesome doctor and he is doing the best of his ability and he does not take my pain lightly thank you so much
Dr. Poletti is awesome! There's nothing else I could say that hasn't already been said but he truly knows his craft and executes it skillfully. He saved me from being paralyzed in my left arm and that was 10 years ago. The device he inserted in my neck is still doing it's job to this day. Thank you Dr. Poletti for serving your community and keeping us healthy and active as long as we can be!
Dr. Poletti and his staff are the best.
If I could give him a 6, I would. He and his staff are very competent, caring, and efficient. He is very pro patient and he and his team make every effort to help folks with back and neck pain.
Dr Poletti explained clearly the issues that I had with my back. He then printed a plan for relief that included surgery only as a last resort. I highly recommend Dr Poletti. B
Dr. Poletti has an aura of quiet confidence, also empathy for others. I feel I could not be in better hands. my opinion of him and Southeastern Spine is excellent. I also understood my situation was quite serious and required a talent like his. Sincerely, Joh n Hayes Smith, O.D.
Dr. Poletti cares about his patients and makes an effort every time, to visit them during follow-ups. I first came to Dr. Poletti by references given to me. He and his staff work hard to ensure that patients come first. Great surgeon and overall human being.
My experience was amazing??Dr.Poletti and his staff are amazing??
Dr Poletti 3 years ago did my sciatica surgery that was very successful, now I have a problem with my left hand going numb due to a car accident.Dr Poletti has suggested PT and an injection with anti inflammatory in my neck, if that doesn’t succeed then I will have to have surgery to fix the pinched nerve. Dr Poletti will perform the surgery as I have great faith on his surgical skills and his team. Dr. Poletti and his staff....was excellent from day 1..until i got released!!
This visit I met with Lane, Dr Polettiâs PA. She was absolutely wonderful. Informatively ,helpful, and a great listener. You will not find better care anywhere.
As a former patient, he fit me into his very busy day, setting up my MRI prior to appointment with him, and offered me options to manage my increased low back pain and left leg radicular pain. Very professional and courteous and we continue to be fortunate to have the Southeastern Spine Institute and their staff available to us.
Dr Poletti explained everything in detail, gave me options to consider, and scheduled a injection that very day since I was traveling from Myrtle Beach. He is caring and competent, and will be performing a spinal fusion for me. If you have a back/neck problem, this is where you need to be.
It was a very pleasant visit the staff was very friendly and the doctor was very friendly and easy to understand
Very helpful explained what was wrong with me in less then 10 min when I have been hurting for over 2 years. Thanks Dr Poletti
Explained my situation thoroughly and we mutually concluded the best next step was pain management. I had that procedure done the same afternoon. Remembered me from prior surgeries 11 years earlier. I do not want further back issues, but if I do, Iâm coming here. Jean Ann Echternach

I have had 5 surgeries in the last 6 years. I attribute these complicated surgeries to reckless football and snowboarding up till the last 10 years of my life. I am now 76 years old and DR Poletti had just completed my last surgery on March 21 2022. This surgery was a Laminectomy of 3-4 4-5 Disc locations and I can finally walk without pain. through his MRI and examinations he had notice problems with my Hips two years ago and i had to have both hips replaced. DR Poletti suggested hip replacement then take 6 months off and then he would attack this Laminectomy. I would highly recommend Dr. Poletti to anyone with Spine issue's . He explains procedures very well . the Sotheastern Spine institute is a perfect set up for exams MRI'S X-Rays in some surgery's in site. He is GOD sent.. I have had 5 surgeries in the last 6 years. EXCELLENT SERVICE AS ALWAYS!!!!
Had to wait to be seen but Dr. Poletti was excellent. He took his time with me and was easy to talk to. His staff was wonderful and professional and was able to ensure that my imaging was completed that day to save me a trip back to the Charleston area.
Great Doctor, Great staff. 100% the best.

Dr. Poletti took time to work me into his schedule despite my not having an appointment. He saved me from having to make an extra trip from the Myrtle Beach area to Mt.Pleasant. He is always caring, thorough, and patient. I am pleased that he will be my surgeon when I have the spinal fusion.
Dr. Poletti is very knowledgeable about my medical condition. He is straight forward with my plan of care. He is concern about my well-being.
On time, thorough, respectful. No problems.
Had to wait an hour after my appointment time, but the doctor was excellent.
I was very pleased with all that was done for me. Dr Poletti was very nice and listened to my pain issues with my back and leg. His staff was very nice and understanding and explained what was being done as they got me ready for my MRI and checkup

Dr Poletti was extremely professional. He took the time to properly explain everything that was going on with my back and the procedures that would be done to help alleviate my pain. He was highly recommended by a good friend of mine who is also a retired physician. And he hit it on the head. Couldn’t of had a better doctor
It was very pleasant on time. And the people from the front desk down to the nurses are very helpful and friendly
Dr.Poletti and his staff are amazing!! If you deal with back pain like I did heâs the one you want. Everything he told me what to expect was exactly what occurred. He is A++
Dr Poletti is an outstanding professional.! He is kind , caring and seeks the best venues for his patients. Thanks Doc.
Dr Poletti had to go in and fix what 2 previous Drs couldn’t. I’ve had no pain since Poletti did what was my 3rd Back surgery. He’s leaps and bounds above any Dr in my area.
It was ok

As usual the staff and the PA took great care and made my appointment as easy as possible. My 2 normal PA’s (Swain and Tuggle) do a great job and are very helpful and informative. Dr Poltetti has been very upfront and helpful in making decisions on my back/spine condition. Tells me the truth, not what I want to hear. My Appointment With Dr. Steven Poletti went great. I'm Very Thankful ??
3 weeks agoNEW If you are looking for a surgeon who is good at his specialty, Dr. Poletti fits the bill. He did a great job with my severe spinal stenosis. But if you are looking for a surgeon with well-planned post-surgery follow up care in a timely manner, then definitely look elsewhere! Two weeks after my original surgery, I had follow-up visits but only with PAs. I did not even get a doctor visit at the hospital. The PA who came to the hospital could not even tell me whether I had had a fusion or not. On my 2 week post- surgery visit, again I saw PAs who told me they wanted to admit me immediately to the hospital for another surgery. They explained that they did not like the looks of the healing incision. I insisted on a follow up visit to see Dr. Poletti. He explained he needed to reopen the incision to clean and debride the incision. I reluctantly agreed. Before leaving the hospital, I was fitted with a wound vac that was to stay on a week.. Post second surgery, I again only saw

He explained he needed to reopen the incision to clean and debride the incision. I reluctantly agreed. Before leaving the hospital, I was fitted with a wound vac that was to stay on a week.. Post second surgery, I again only saw PAs. This was on the day before Thanksgiving and I was told no Doctors were on site. They sent me to East Cooper Comprehensive wound care for further treatment. I had to wear the vac for over 5 weeks with biweekly visits from a home care nurse. Three times a week a dressing was pushed into the opening in my back to expedite healing. When pulled out to change it, that dressing pulled on all the new growth and was very painful. I finally made arrangements for Dr. Poletti to take a look at his second surgery. Upon this office call, he refused to look at the wound and told me to keep up with the wound care people. Now keep in mind, every time I went to see Dr. Poletti, the wait time to see him varied from 30 minutes to my last visit that took 1.5 hours. I had to walk out of that visit to go to my wound care visit. I was never able to wear my back brace as it disrupted the wound vac's suction, The weight of the vac caused head, neck and back soreness. I did not feel I was healing after surgery because I had this wound vac and infected incision to deal with. I am totally dissatisfied with the unprofessional treatment that I have received. You are a number only and if there are extenuating circumstances, you do not fit their mold and they don't know what to do with you!
Very nice and theral dr very honest and upfront about your situation yes I would recommend him to anyone in need of back neck or knee pain
Dr. Poletti is an excellent doctor as is miss Amanda. Both of them do very good at explaining my issues and helping improve my back issues
Dr. Poletti and his staff are knowledgeable, kind, thorough, and focused on customer care. Thank you for everything you do!

Dr. Poletti has always answered any questions I have asked about my condition. I feel he is a great doctor and surgeon.
Was very happy with my visit today. I never felt rushed and since I had some questions and concerns he took the time to answer them. I found my new doctor....
Dr Poletti has operated on my back twice now. He is wonderful. I have referred many friends to him
Great experience!

Amazing staff and doctor. After fighting insurance for years for a surgery hubby needed, was referred to Dr. Poletti (SSI) and within two weeks everything approved.

After nine back surgeries, my back feels stable with little to no pain.
He explained everything and suggested treatment
I had every appointment performed in one day that would have probably been stretched over time with other professionals. Looking forward to a pain free life.
Great experience, I would recommend him highly.
Excellent
Dr. Poletti and his team knocked it out of the park with my TLIF surgery. Dr. Poletti is a straight shooter and will tell you what is going on and how he and his team will approach your situation if it within his means to resolve. Everybody is different but bring a positive and all your questions. I'm a male 56 and in somewhat good shape but after a L4-5 Laminectomy from a different doc and multiple injections didn't resolve my issues. I had to go to a spinal fusion. I'm 7 weeks post-op now and I have no numbness or tingling in my legs or feet and getting back to normal after a year of misery.
Very professional and knowledgeable.
My latest visit with Dr. Poletti on November 22nd, 2021 was comprehensive and expedient. An unforeseen injury was diagnosed. I had x-rays, an MRI, and two in-person visits with Dr. Poletti - all within 2 hours. I was treated with respect and kindness by everyone. I'm very appreciative of the care I received.
Excellent and informative Telemed visit. Answered all my questions, compared my latest MRI to one 3 years prior. Helped me make a hard decision easy.

He is very direct with information & diagnosis. ——which I totally appreciate. I heard nothing I wanted to hear, but appreciate his honesty. I just don’t like being set in a category because of my age. To me it doesn’t mean a thing. I want to continue doing what I’ve always done9which is walk without pain) and want a solution. Everything is run very efficiently. May have a little wait in office but once the provider is with you and spends time really listening to you , it is well worth the wait. I have always felt as if I mattered to Dr. Poletti and all of his PAs.
My visit with Dr. Poletti was well worth the wait to see him which wasnât that long.. Just Loved himâ¦
Dr. Poletti is very compassionate about the problem, very honest with his diagnosis, and very thorough with the treatment plan!
My experience was great. Dr. Poletti was very good to work with. He got to the root cause of the pain and gave a recommendation to try other than surgery. SSI is an efficient well run organization.
He was wonderfully he knows his job I would recommend him to everyone you will not be disappointed my dad had back surgery and he done a wonderful job
