I had a horrible experience at this doctor's office today. I waited to get an appointment, and was only able to be seen by the nurse practitioner. That was fine in that I knew I needed to be seen due to severe pain and a tear in my rectal wall that needed immediate attention. I left my house in plenty of time to get to my appointment, but unfortunately hit traffic on 195 East. I called the office to let them know I would be 15 minutes late. I made it to the appointment under the 15 minute time frame that I needed to be there within because I was late. When I arrived, I was told that the nurse practitioner would not see me because I was 15 minutes late… even though I was under the 15 minute time restraint. I reiterated that my situation was somewhat urgent and that they were aware of this. Despite all of my efforts, I was turned away and told I would not be seen and that my appt would need to be rescheduled because I was less than 15 minutes late. Remember… It was only if I was after 15 minutes late that they would not see me. I was less than 15 minutes late. Needless to say, due to the pain and discomfort and knowing I would need possible surgery, I left the office in tears. I got no consideration by the nurse practitioner or anyone at the desk. One of the people at the desk ( whom I had previously spoken to on the phone on my way in to let her know I would be late) was extremely rude to me. I absolutely do not recommend this office to anyone… I would not wish this on anyone. I have been to many doctors in my lifetime, and have never been treated the way I was today. I would just hope that when Dr. Moss himself reads this, I would get some sort of a phone call with an apology. How many times do you patients have to wait a half hour or an hour to see a doctor? But when the tables are turned and the patient needs urgent care, they are turned away in a heartbeat… even though they were within their time constraint of being late. I will now be going to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston for my care with a renowned doctor there. I will no longer trust or recommend this doctor or this office to anyone.
