Dr. Mohnssen was very thorough, calm, and reasonable. Easy to talk to as a doctor, clinitian; very straight forward and no-nonsense. Thank goodness! If another medical provider asks me if I want _________ instead of letting me know the options and BEST options for the desired outcomes, I'll scream. Dr. Mohnssen was the medical professional, par excellence!

Incompetent, dangerous, and VERY strange man. He will argue and demean you and set you up for failure.

I saw this "doctor" in November 2021 for wheezing, shortness of breath, and light headedness. When I made the appointment, I was told I needed to have a PFT done first. When I arrived at my appointment, I waited over an hour to be seen, because the respiratory therapist called off sick. They didn't notify me of this until they took me back to see the "doctor", and I had to ask. The "doctor" them proceeded to tell me repeatedly that all my breathing issues were because of my weight. When I pointed out that I'd had these problems since I was little, he commented on my psych meds and asked if I was bipolar. I'm not, which I informed him of, yet he put in my chart that I am bipolar. Clearly, he made a quick assessment based on my size, and didn't want to help. Turns out, I have Small Airways Disease, and *any* test he ran would've showed I had a problem. Run away from this non provider as fast as you can!

Disrespectful, unhelpful, and when asked what are next steps/other treatments he stated “you are going to die” to a person that has a terminal lung problem. I was helping a family member and i was in the room when i witnessed this behavior from Dr Mohnson the monster. He demonstrated an absolutely awful unprofessional attitude . He was impatient and fidgeted and made it clear we were wasting his time. I do not recommend him. My family member became despondent after this appointment and gave up.

Dr. Mohnssen quite literally saved my life. He correctly diagnosed an extremely rare and difficult disease, and he then found the correct treatment. He instigated emergency life-saving measures immediately upon seeing me and recognized the danger of my situation. I was in a coma, but he communicated directly and very well with my family.

1 is too high IMHO. Dr. Mohnssen is a germaphobe and has an ego so big it does not fit in the same room! When I told him I was not sleeping well, he asked me what I expected him to do about it? He had no patience, and did not give a crap about my situation. He kept telling me he does not service CPAPs, but I was trying to tell him that I don't think it's working, and sleep apnea has gotten tremendously worse. He just kept repeating that he doesn't service CPAPs, and would not even address my sleep apnea concerns. I have been to see him 2x, and each time it's the same. He does not care about his patients or their problems. And god forbid you touch anything in his office, he loses his mind!! I recommend NOT GOING TO SEE HIM. Awful experience. Just awful...

He was the WORST doctor I’ve ever seen. Arrogant and mean, all in the name of “honesty” - AND he was totally wrong with my diagnosis. I would never recommend him, not to my worst enemy.

I truly appreciate the time Dr. Mohnssen took to get to the root of my sleep issues I have been having for years. He made it look so easy. When I was answering his questions, I could tell he was listening to me unlike other drs that would just say "go to sleep earlier" here I am years later and Dr. Mohnssen found that I have narcolepsy! Thank you Thank you! He changed my life.

Dr. Mohnssen helped me with my sleep apnea, he ordered my sleep study and got me a CPAP ! His office worked hard to get my insurance to approve and they all made it seem so easy, as did he. Highly recommend Dr. Mohnssen for your sleep needs !

I hate to write this about a fellow professional, but Dr. M needs to stop seeing patients (for sleep disorders) and focus his education elsewhere! (Maybe his heart lies in other specialties, but not in sleep medicine) He is dismissive, short, condescending, and makes a fatal mistake in medicine - he does not listen to patients! This all adds up to a poor practitioner and one that perhaps either has other personal problems, or has been at this too long. Either way he should not be seeing patients! Dr. Mohnssen was my pulmonologist while I was being treated for COVID-19 at UC Health Memorial North Hospital. Even while I was in a "Covid Brain Fog" he took the time to explain ventilators, how they worked, how Colorado is using them differently than NYC. He presented options and guidance. I appreciate that he's an expert and I could tell by his manner that I could trust his judgement. His treatment plan kept me off a ventilator and saved my life. I cannot thank him enough. Highly recommended. 10 stars.

I've had 2 appts with Dr. Mohnssen for long term low oxygen saturation. (Taken off another review as it fits perfectly) "Right off the bat he seemed more interested in his laptop than me, as a patient. It didn't take long to realize he wasn't listening to my answers to the questions asked by him because he would ask the same questions within seconds. He made no eye contact." His reasoning for my lack of oxygen sat is that I'm fat and need to lose weight. My diagnosis of Lipedema is not real according to him, which makes fatloss nearly impossible. I will not continue to see Dr. Mohnssen, I need someone that cares about me, my problem and not refer me to someone else that can for sure cure my fat legs. He needs to retire or his staff needs to assign him patients that have problems that he specializes in, and not something he has no interest in doing.

I had several appts with Mohnssen for long term sleep problems. Right off the bat he seemed more interested in his laptop than me, as a patient. It didn't take long to realize he wasn't listening to my answers to the questions asked by him because he would ask the same questions within seconds. He made no eye contact. Save your valuable time and money and seek help for your sleep issues elsewhere. I found a caring doctor immediately and am beginning to relearn how to sleep again. Mohhnssen, at his age, needs to retire his stethoscope and take a daily afternoon nap in his recliner.

I saw Dr Mohnssen because I had trouble sleeping all night for over 2 years. He diagnosed me with RLS and prescribed a medicine for that. It has been a month and I am doing great..sleeping 6 out of 7 nights a week. Never even knew RLS existed. I am so grateful. There is not like a good nights sleep. Please thank him for me. Sincerely Donna Carter

Dr. Mohnssen has seen me several times, initially looking for answers for a cough. He patiently listened and took time to answer my questions. He is professional yet very kind with a sly sense of humor which lightened my visits. Staff is professional and helpful as well.

I saw Dr. Mohnssen to confirm a diagnosis of bronchiectasis. My level of anxiety was fairly high because of what I'd read online about the disease. Because of Dr. Mohnssen's professionalism and compassion, I left the appointment feeling much better about my diagnosis. He spent 45 minutes with my husband and me and answered every one of our questions. At the end of the appointment he asked if we had any other questions. I will be seeing him every 4 months going forward so that he can monitor my progress. I feel very fortunate to have found such a great doctor to care for me while I learn to cope with this disease. His staff was great as well. Everyone from the receptionist to the tech who did the breathing tests treated me with respect and compassion. I would definitely recommend Dr. Mohnssen and his staff to anyone facing any type of lung disease. I saw Dr. Mohnssen to confirm a diagnosis of bronchiectasis. I was referred to this office because of a years long problem with sleep. Dr Mohnssen was a condescending prig! He treated me like a hypochondriac, and a dim witted one at that. He kept putting his head in his hands as if frustrated with what I was saying, all the while it felt like he was trying to disprove I had any issues at all. He did not listen to what I was saying and kept asking me questions I had already answered. Would definitely NOT recommend him to anyone, ask for a different referral!
