I've been seeing Dr. Meltzer since I was a child for my allergies and asthma, and he is a wonderfully kind and patient person. In my experience, the staff are polite and professional. I will be sad when I have to switch doctors someday when I'm older!

Today would have been my first experience with this office and I’m frustrated to report, my first visit was cancelled before ever happening. I made the appt approx 6 weeks ago. About 2 weeks ago, they left me a message there was an earlier opening, which I was unable to use. The next message I received was yesterday (1 day prior to my scheduled appt). It was recorded at 10:42 and stated if I didn’t call them by noon that day, they would cancel my appt. I am a working mom, and I didn’t receive that message until after business hours. I showed up at the appt anyways in hopes we could be seen and was told that they called me multiple times and I never confirmed, which was absolutely untrue. I showed them my voicemail log, they quoted their phone log. I asked what is the bottom line, are you going to see us or not and they said no and offered to reschedule. We declined and left. While the dr may be wonderful, the office staff is difficult. I called my phone provider to confirm if they called, they confirmed there were calls, but no messages other than the 2 received (only 1 being an appt confirmation with a 1 hour window to confirm). Had they actually left messages on prior calls, this would not have happened. I’m not sure why they think I would return every missed call on my phone (particularly since they come from a differnt phone number every time )They have my email and my complete info- they had plenty of other options available to them, which they did not use. They seem to think everyone is waiting for their calls and can drop everything when they have an opening. Sadly, we will not go back. I would never be able to trust that this wouldn’t keep happening. My time is too valuable to be wasted like this. Not a good fit for anyone who works normal business hours and doesn’t call back every missed call in their phone. I have severe allergies, Dr. Meltzer has help me, after allergy test, know doing allergy shots, neti pot (flushes the sinuses), nose spray and zyrtec. I'm doing great

5 star rating is all you need to know about Dr. Meltzer. Don't hesitate and schedule immediately or you'll need to wait additional months before you can been seen.

I have been seeing Dr. Meltzer from about the time I was born. Have always had eczema, allergies and asthma. I am now 31 and still see him when I need help. By far one of the best doctors out there!

I saw Dr. Metzler as a new patient today, and I have never been so impressed with a doctor. He spent nearly an hour looking at my records, summarized my situation, and made a great recommendation for treatment. He was amazing. So thorough and conscientious.

Just started going to this doctor. My daughter has severe allergies and she is anaphylactic to nuts. Dr. Metzler is very caring and compassionate. He's a Great doctor. However, I was quite disappointed when I came in with the medications at school form that is required by LBUSD. Dr. Metzlers staff told me that there was a $25.00 fee to sign the form that I filled out with the medications that need to be on hand at school if she were to go into anaphylactic shock. I declined to have them fill out and took the forms to our pediatrician who does not charge to fill out the required medical forms. Just started going to this doctor. Excellent experience. Dr. Meltzer was kind, thorough, knowledgeable, a great listener and created an action plan for my son. He definitely exceeded my expectations.

Wonderful bedside manner with my 5 year old son! He himself made him a balloon animal! Nice to see a doctor take the time to earn the trust and fondness of a child! He explains and provides excellent teaching regarding allergies and asthma and the treatment plan for my child. I thought I was knowledgeable but learned so much from this one visit. I definitely will be referring him as a physician to friends and family. He is also a teaching physician which I respect immensely.
