I have had 2 hip replacements , one 3 yrs ago and one 1 1/2 ago , by dr Lyons and both legs even, today visits to see if all is good . He is amazing Dr. I highly recommend him

I love Dr. Lyons. He’s amazing is easy to understand and he gives you as much time as you need couldn’t find a better ortho.

My visits with Dr. Lyons are always productive .He and his medical assistant are always great and truly care for the patients. His medical assistant, Jeannette Burnett is superb. She is encouraging, patient, and kind, and you can always depend on her to get things done.She is definitely an asset to Dr. Lyons and I have had the best care from them for years. In and out in record time, very efficient

Dr. Lyons is knowledgeable, caring, listens, asks and answers questions. He is thorough and efficient. He is an excellent surgeon. I have been his patient for 15 years. I have always recommended him when someone mentions a health issue that I know is in his field.

From check-in through the xrays and consultation the process was efficient and professional. He answers all questions so you understand what he is saying.

I had a bad flare up on my knee this past weekend. Called today and was given a same day appointment. I feel that I was blessed to get in today to get relief. Dr Lyons is very compassionate and willing to go that extra mile for you. His nurse and staff were extremely helpful too. I highly recommend Dr. Lyons.

Definitely a positive visit. He's informative, confident and reassuring!

After living with hip pain for months, the hip replacement surgery with Dr. Lyons allowed me quickly to walk with minimal pain right away. My physical therapists could not believe how quickly I was up and about. I could not believe the difference either. Dr. Lyons has an amazing and efficient staff. From the receptionists to his assistant Jeannette, all were so helpful and caring. I was able to communicate often with Jeannette with any concerns. I applaud them all and recommend his practice highly. I felt comfortable and safe from the time I checked in with Dr. Lyon's staff at the Zone 2 window. Dr. Lyon's, Janette and his "fellows" showed genuine concern and patience when I was explaining my injury and provided me with comfort knowing there might be several non-surgical options for my treatment.

Ive been at Florida Orthopedic with Dr. Lyons since 2015. Dr Lyons is one of the best surgeons there is. In 2017 he replaced both of my hips. Since then my life has been so much better. Well, Im back again with my right knee but I know I have the right Dr. on the job. Thanks Dr. Lyons and all of his staff especially my girl Jeanette she knows me well and has been there every step of the way . Again Thank You.. Knee was aching from time to time after total knee replacement in 2016 by Dr. Lyons. X-ray showed everything normal and working as it should. Dr. Lyons suggested an X-ray of hip since I been scuba diving for a lifetime and there may be damage from the high uptake on nitrogen during dives. X-rays showed that hips were in perfect order. As usual, Dr. Lyons made a few suggestions on how to limit aches in knee. Over the years I have received excellent results from many surgeries at FOI. Great staff all around. For anything to do with knees and hips Dr Lyons is the man to see. Open honest and you can guarantee that he will recommend what is the best direction to do for treatment. Dr. Lyons performed a partial meniscectomy on my right knee in June. Prior to surgery he thoroughly explained the pros and cons of differing treatments, and was extremely kind and patient with my many questions. I found his staff to be the same. When I discovered Jeannette has worked with Dr. Lyons for sixteen (!) years, I knew he was a surgeon I wanted to see. I’m a retired OR nurse, and please let me say that sixteen years working with the same staff speaks very highly of a doctor! I’ve been very pleased with the care I’ve received. Lastly, Dr. Lyons earned bonus points for staying on schedule during Clinic. At each of my pre- and post-op appointments I’ve been seen within one to ten (!) minutes of my scheduled time! I got in and out for my one year follow up. The ladies at the desk are very pleasant as was the young man who took me to the room. Dr Lyons is very knowledgeable and a great doctor, my surgery with knee replacement made me feel normal again.

I had no problem pre op. My surgery went well. I never saw Dr. Lyons again. My follow up visits were conducted by a ? Resident or Fellow. When I asked why I wasn’t being seen by Dr Lyons I was told that this was how things were done. I did not return to him for my final visit.

Very professional, organized and friendly from check in to check out!

Dr Lyons has operated on me and replaced both of my knees and I have to say that since than he has they have not bother me.

Very efficient, professional medical treatment. Online preregistration is simple. I showed up 10 minutes before my scheduled appointment. Strict Covid protocol was followed. Immediately after signing in I was sent to X-ray lab for X-rays of my knees. Zero wait time. I returned to Dr Lyons office and was seen by the doctor in 5 minutes. Dr Lyons treated both knees and answered all my questions about future knee replacement. I had an excellent visit at Florida Orthopedic’s South Tampa Office today! Resident Physician, Dr. Sullivan was fantastic. He listened and explained what the Osteoarthritis in both my knees meant. Then he told me what he recommended. My next visit with Dr. Lyons re-inforced exactly what Dr. Sullivan told me plus what would possible joint replacement surgery would entail. From reception, to x-ray, Doctor’s Exam and Diagnosis to knee brace fitting were all conducted in a professional and efficient manner. I left the office with a complete understanding of my physical condition and what I needed to do to improve my arthritic knees and reduce the pain that I experience when I walk. Florida Orthopedic Institute has very high standards for those who do the work for the patients whom they serve.. The lady who sees you to your room is there to help you get everything ready when visiting the doctor. She is always on top of things. The receptionists are always there to check you in by helping you with electronic devices needed to be checked in. Dr. Lyons was referred to me by 2 doctor's , 2 nurses and several patients who said he was exceptional knee surgeon. Yesterday, in e-ray I had an experience with Kim Chin a x-ray technician. She invited me in had me put my purse down,, gave exact instructions on what she wanted me to do and I was out of the room in 5 minutes. An excellent employee!! I have seen Doctor Lyons for about two years. He was not recommended to me; however, after reading his profile, I immediately felt comfortable. The first time I met him, I was greeted by his assistant Jeannette who has been an Angel to me. I was so happy after I was treated by Doctor that I decided to have my knee replaced. I had a hip replaced Feb 2020. My recovery was extremely quick. I don't think I could have gotten any better care anywhere. Dr Lyons, Jeanette and Bianca are superb. I am currently being treated for arthritis and joint deterioration of both knees. Unbelievably Pain is gone making me mobile

Not good at all..He was short, abrasive in his tone, and seemed annoyed when I asked simple questions, did not even look at my x ray until I asked him about different procedures, as I had other opinions one from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Surgeon he had never heard of him. Sure he is a skilled surgeon but rather find one that treats me with respect and I trust as I am 65 and never had a major surgery before..Cancelled the surgery a day after my appointment.. office staff rushed seemed disorganized and curt..No compassion for patients in pain.. I will continue to "shop"plenty good Orthopedic surgeons, may even find one with a sense of humor!! RX number 1..laughter...

Scheduled a visit with Dr. Lyons to gain reassurance that it was OK I walk on this little fracture on my hip. His professionalism And explanation of the situation and how to handle it answered any questions or concerns I may have on walking on this injury leaving me with no concern on how to handle it.. His advice on how to take care of it was extremely understanding and helpful. Best bedside manner and an amazing staff to back it up with great personalities making the visit much more pleasant and just an overall great a 100% awesome visit. Definitely high recommendations to both Dr. Lyons and his amazing staff!

My name is Alfonso Abreu and I had a right hip total replacement on 08/07/19. There is only 17 days and I'm in a very good recovery process. I moved very fast from walker to cane and from cane to not using anything to walk and to do my physical therapy. Dr. Lyons is very careful before and after the surgery, he prevents any post surgery complication. I recommend him very highly. He is an excellent orthopedic doctor. Also we the patients we are very lucky because he has a Mrs. Bianca Floyd as Administrative Assistant, she has been excellent too, very helpful all the time, and very patient with the patients, she is a nice and warm person. Dr. Lyons did a total knee replacement in April 2018. It took me a while to recover fully, but it is perfect now. Dr. Lyons and his wonderful staff are all extremely attentive to the patients needs at all times. From the first appointment with Dr. Lyons to discuss a knee replacement, I knew that I was in the right place with the right doctor. He was kind and understanding of the 4 previous knee surgeries to remove cartilage and meniscus, plus a few shots of synthetic knee lubricant to help the “bone on bone” situation. He totally explained the replacement procedure in infinite detail. After surgery I rapidly recovered at PT. Swimming in my pool in just over 2 weeks. Being a Scuba Instructor Trainer, I had to get back in form to begin teaching again. Finished PT in 6 weeks, taught my first Instructor class on just shy of 8 weeks. Many thanks to you, Dr. Lyons for your excellent skills in fixing the knee I destroyed over many years.

I have already referred several people to Dr. Lyons. It has been a year since my total hip and I am very happy with the results. This is the best!

I saw Dr Lyons, Bianca and Jeanette - and his entire staff - from the front office to physical therapy, Jason in Brandon and his team, for my knees and they were all top notch, kind and immediately responded to questions and concerns and were very patient and reassuring. They calmed me down, listened to me and genuinely cared. Go see them - you will be seeing the best.

My husband went to see Dr. Lyons because of issues and tremendous pain and discomfort with a recent knee replacement surgery. We found him to be very professional, knowledgeable and at the top of his field, especially in doing revision surgeries. It took a few months to get his surgery scheduled due to his very busy schedule, but it was well worth it. We feel, thus far, that we made an excellent choice and are very grateful to Dr. Lyons. He spent time with us and he explained what was needed to fix and stabilize his knee. The recovery is going much quicker this time and we are confident in a complete and satisfactory recovery this time.

I was very impressed by his office staff and Dr. Lyons. Dr. Lyons wasn’t pushy for me to have surgery, he left it up to me. He wasn’t rushed and answered any questions I had. I scheduled surgery.

I had seven surgeries already including a total knee replacement from athletic injuries. I was having a lot of problems and every orthopedic surgeon in my area wouldn’t touch me. They all recommended Dr Lyons hands down. They were correct! He did another TKA and I am doing great. Bianca thanks for all your help!! Recommend him 100%

Dr Lyon's is totally awesome! He not only straightened my husbands bow legged left leg but replaced his knee. It was perfect on his most recent X-ray and now it's time for the right knee. We have no hesitation about going back to Dr. Lyons. We have referred several friends as a result of his work.

Needed full right knee replacement. Dr Lyons took the time to explained every detail about the surgery. Surgery went well at Advent Carollwood Hospital, really liked it there. Very pleased with the office staff.

I had a knee replacement with Dr Lyons last year and now I just had a hip replacement and both surgeries have been great. He is the kind of doctor that you can trust and knowing he is such a good doctor makes you feel very peaceful and secure. His office staff is great. Bianca and Jeanette are very helpful and kind. Surgeries are very easy to set up. As soon as you are in the pre op room, you feel a great sense of peace and tranquility. He is amazing!!

As always Dr Lyons is the best doctor every ,he never rushes you even thro he is very busy .

I have been a patient of Dr. Lyons since 2008. He was one of only two surgeons in Florida, that my former surgeon at Scripps in CA, found to take my difficult case. He is an excellent surgeon. Knowledgeable beyond his years, and always on the cutting edge of new surgical procedures. After five joint surgeries with him and his amazing staff, I can honestly say, they know their stuff. Even able to handle difficult patients like myself. I would not willingly allow anyone else to operate on me.

My case is tough and unique. Dr Lyons took my case one piece at a time. He got to the bottom of my bilateral knee pain and what operation I would need for each knee. He is a highly skilled Dr. He takes time to explain all of your questions.

Lyons was rude and unsympathetic. His staff management/office protocol is like a surgery mill. After telling my mother she had an infection (we all knew this) and saying she had no options left other than amputation, which my mother said she did not want to do, his office called a month after this horrible interaction to schedule a surgery! They insisted they were correctly scheduling the surgery only to later say it was a mistake. I couldn't imagine going through with a surgery with him!

This is a great Dr. when it comes to orthopedic surgery. He did a pelvis reconstruction and hip replacement for my dad (78 year old). He guided us through the whole process, explain the procedure, with honesty. He was able to give back to my dad quality of life by being able to walk without pain. We still going through the recovery time (6-8 month). We are in great hands with Dr. Lyons and his staff and following all his recommendations

Best surgeon ever!!!! I can walk thanks to him. His whole team is no joke, they are on the money. They are the greatest along with Dr. Lyons.

Dr Lyons did my knee replacements a few years back and I thank God I had him as my surgeron.

Dr.Lyons replaced both my knees this year. I can not say enough good things about my experience! He knows what he is doing. You will take a class before surgery so you know what to expect. And his office is wonderful! Bianca will make sure you have what you need! My knees feel great, Dr.Lyons changed my life!!!!!!!

I had both knees replaced in 2/2015 & the other in 7/2015 with such wonderful results! I have received outstanding medical care under Dr. Lyons & his staff, especially Jeanette & Bianca. His team does everything possible to ensure the best possible outcome. Today, I am moving very well, totally pain free & the only evidence that I even have replacements is my scars.
