Dr. Steven J. Lowry

Dr. Lowry did my emergency surgery in 2006. To this day I am so grateful for his great care. He is truly a Great doctor.

Approximately 3 years ago, Dr. Lowry, by whom I had been previously treated, had to perform emergency surgery on me which actually saved my life. He stayed overnight at the hospital to stay in touch with my wife and family and keep abreast of my condition. HE SAVED MY LIFE. I would not be treated by any other surgeon and would recommend him to friends and family. Thank you, Dr. Lowry and my family thanks you to this day. Be well, stay safe my friend.

Dr Lowry is a wonderful surgeon and I have nothing but great things to say about him. I had been in excruciating pain for almost 3 years and Dr Lowry sent me for testing and got me quickly scheduled for surgery and diagnosis. However the woman at the front desk is the most unpleasant and rude receptionist I have ever come across in my life. During my follow up appointment after surgery I called ahead and said I was running 10 minutes late due to childcare issues. She huffed and snarled on the phone, "So you're not in the parking lot?" And told me I was just supposed to call when I was in the parking lot. When I arrived 8 minutes later, I called from the parking lot (due to covid and protocol) and said I was outside. She gave me a huge attitude and told me she wasn't sure if I could be seen because I was late, they were very busy, and they will TRY to get me in. I've worked in a doctor's office before so I am very understanding of the circumstances and was willing to wait. She came outside a few minutes later and was screaming my name. To which I rolled down my window and announced I was here. I saw her approach 3 cars, but she skipped mine. I was getting ready to get out of my car, gathering my things, all while still trying to get her attention through the window, when she loudly told the car right next to me that I missed my appointment and "OH WELL!" As I turned off my car and got out, she stormed back inside. Another woman came out looking for me at which point she brought me inside into the first waiting room. The door into the second waiting room was open and I could hear the first rude receptionist talking about me to the second receptionist about how I shouldn't be seen because I missed my appointment, and continued to go on about me while I was standing right there. I continued with my appointment, made a complaint to the Dr and went on my way, hoping to never have to deal with this woman ever again. It's been I guess two or three months and I got an automated call reminding me of my second follow up appointment and gave me the option to 1. Confirm 2. Reschedule or 3. Cancel. I feel great and honestly didn't want to deal with this horrible patient etiquette again so I chose the prompt to cancel and the system reported back that my appointment was officially cancelled. Flash forward to today, I get a call from this horrible receptionist once again saying I missed my appointment. I said I got a call from the automated system and it gave me the option to cancel, so I cancelled. She said they don't have an automated system and the hospital was to charge me $25 for the missed appointment. I repeated back to her that I did recieve a call and I did in fact cancel days in advance. So now let's see if I get charged for this visit and if I do, I'll be calling back again to directly speak to the Dr and once again file a complaint against this woman. She should not be working there. This is not how you treat patients. I've also been at the office at a time I was waiting in the waiting room and an older gentleman was checking out and as he was leaving he thought she had addressed him so he turned around and said "I'm sorry?" And she replied, "I wasn't talking to you!" Dr Lowry should be aware of how HIS patients are being treated and that is the reason for this review. I've never written these kinds of reviews before but she is the worst thing about that office and should be replaced immediately in my opinion. So overall, Dr Lowry is great, but you have to go through her if you want to be seen so this is just a fair warning.

Great first impression. I have a feeling ut will be lasting. Loved one's surgery is Monday.

Dr. Lowry is caring, compassionate, and confident. I had him for surgery twice. I would not consider going to anyone else. Love this guy!!

From beginning to end I felt as if I was recieving very sincere and personalized care. I was able to trust Dr. Lowry and have faith that he would take very good care of me. I would highly reccomend Dr. Lowry

Dr. Lowry is professional, yet compassionate. I felt reassured with his explanations of my problem and confident in his treatment. The office staff is wonderful.

Dr. Lowry was recommended by our family physician because he is the only certified surgeon for colon surgery in the area. He did a wonderful job and was very professional.
