Dr. Lee knows what he's doing

I had never seen Dr Lee before and I didn’t have an appointment with him but my case was serious so he saw me before any of his other appointments. I feel tremendous relief today. Yesterday I was in agony. Highly recommend!

Doctor Lee was fabulous.... thorough, personable, informative, and encouraging. His exam provided much needed answers and I am feeling more hopeful about my healing progress now.

I’ve been seeing Dr.Lee for 2 years now and he is always professional, empathetic. He listens and really cares.

An excellent surgeon. My broken right fist was repaired without issue. Follow ups with Dr. Lee and his staff have been top notch.

Dr. Lee is an absolutely first-rate surgeon. Office visits are quick but thorough and informative. The staff is friendly and efficient. My one reservation is that the physical therapy at New York Eye, Ear, and Throat is unacceptable for people on Medicare. The therapist handles three people at once, paying no attention to anyone. I love this doctor. he was my orthopedic doctor for years until my insurance changed, which forced me to use another group. I was elated to be able to return to him again, after years. he has treated both my hands and knees, while I would have had to see different doctors in the prior group. so nice to deal with ONE doctor, as opposed to several. Dr. Lee is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. He takes the time to thoroughly explain and answer all questions. My husband and I both met with him concerning our orthopedic issues. Terrific doctor with a great bedside manner!

ACL repair 14 years ago and still going strong with no problems. I feel very comfortable saying that he did an excellent job as a surgeon. That being said, I recently referred someone close to me to his practice for an ACL repair, not only because he is good at what he does but because I also remember how kind he was was to me and my family. I believe that bedside manner, kindness and care goes a long way...especially in how the body works to heal and repair itself. Would highly recommend. i’ve been a patient of Dr. Lee for several years he has done two he has done two badly torn rotator cuff surgeries shoulder on me.bicep repair tricep repair left knee surgery. He is a fantastic doctor I think he is one of the best in the eastern seaboard. He got me all set ready to go on a Safari hunt in Africa and I was ready to go in less than six months he put me back in the hunt thank you so much Dr. Lee. Very compassionate and thorough - went to him as second opinion on my shoulder after previous dr wasn’t helping and he immediately assessed w mri and Emg and did surgery all with good pre and post op experience. Also very efficient. Highly recommended surgical orthopedist.

As always, Dr. Lee's knowledge and concern diagnosed something new and painful and red and blue and warm on my leg. Hi, October 2018 fell in the park and hurt my hand I live around the corner from Doctor Lee's office and I went there to see him he got me into therapy and I liked him enormously. Fast forward to about a month ago 2021 I was having trouble with my thumb so I went in and I saw dr. Lee this experience was not as terrific as the one in 2018 I found him to be very brisk, rushed maybe he was having a bad day who knows but he totally turned me off. I am now on Medicare and I have asked the secretary to send me a printout of the bill and what the insurance paid they keep telling me to go to a portal I do not know how to do that and I will not do that so the saga continues. I did not return for a second visit regarding my thumb it seems to be healing on its own. I will not return ever to see doctor Lee again even though I know he is a terrific doctor but his personality at the moment needs work. If you can make it past the reception area unscathed, perhaps Dr. Lee is a truly decent doctor, however, by the time I actually saw him I'd been so traumatized, who's to say. Going in to an Orthopedic office as a 30-something is a bit odd, I'm not the usual demographic certainly, I am none-the less a person in pain and greatly in need of help and compassion. Coming out of a trauma-filled year this was my first attempt to start "fixing" some of the bodily ailments I'd let my body fall prey to during lockdown and the absolutely lack of compassion or courtesy shown by the reception staff at Dr Lee's office was an absolute slap in the face. Besides being confrontational and rude from the moment I walked in, it's absolute lunacy that a HAND doctor would require new patients to sit with large amounts of paperwork to fill out on their laps. All previous clinics and doctors I've seen since from the optometrist to the OBGYN have digitized all forms to not only streamline and minimize waiting around (have we learned nothing from the whole social distancing exercise??) as well as keep things comfortable for patients. The user experience from start to finish was absolutely terrible and Dr Lee, while personable, didn't offer anything but a recommendation to another doctor - since I'd already done my research and have been wearing splits religiously. Having worked in the healthcare realm and with healthcare professionals in the past there's no excuse for this kind of service, on the Upper East Side or anywhere else. The past year and 1/2 should have taught all of us a bit more about human decency, effective service, and compassion... you would think. Thank you for getting me back in the "swing of things" Dr Lee's Office - they sure served me a swift dose of NYC realness and humiliation, oh! and that delicious side of searing pain. I've cancelled my followup and thanks to my professional connections in healthcare will be seeking help elsewhere! GOOD RIDDANCE! If I could give a negative review I would do so. I was a patient of Dr. Lee's a few years ago and had a good experience. I went back to him recently for a new injury to my hand and had an offensive, completely inappropriate experience with the front desk staff. The woman was rude, disrespectful, biased and unprofessional. I had to leave the office without being treated because I was so taken aback by it. The other patients in the office were all sitting there horrified and the other staff members tried to tell her to stop and also intervene but she would not let up. She kept saying "people like you" and "supposedly" as if I was lying to her. At one point she said, "if you don't like it you can leave" and when I told her that I wanted to speak to the doctor she told me " he won't care". I have never been so offended and humiliated in a medical setting in my life.

Quick friendly & professional.

Dr. Lee treated my foot last year and got me back to playing sports. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a Sport Medicine Orthopedic in New York City. He was very professional and his staff treated me well!

Dr. Steven J. Lee was highly recommended to me by the Urgent Care staff to follow up on pain from what had been diagnosed as a sprained wrist. I was able to get an appointment within two days of my initial call and got an MRI that same day at a facility recommended by the office. The MRI showed that my wrist had in fact suffered a non-displaced fracture that a previous x-ray did not clearly show. Dr. Lee recommended physical therapy and checked in on me monthly. He has always been polite and efficient and sends a report of each visit promptly via email. The front desk staff are efficient, pleasant and helpful. Sometimes there is a wait to see the doctor, but the waiting area is comfortable and the staff don't forget about patients who are waiting, informing them of any unusual delay. I have looked forward to my appointments because I feel well-taken care of by the staff and confident in Dr. Lee. Dr. Steven J. Dr. Lee is thorough, efficient, affable and professional. I enjoy seeing him and recommend him with enthusiasm!

Dr. Lee is a superb orthopedist. After suffering with tennis elbow for a year, I went to Dr. Lee and within 6 weeks I was cured.

Cordial and efficient office staff and nurses; Dr Lee and his professional staff provide excellent diagnosis and treatment options. My surgery was performed as prescribed with excellent results.

My visit with Dr. Lee was a great experience. He and his wonderful staff are efficient, professional, knowledgable and kind. I frequently recommend Dr. Lee to anyone I know with an orthopedic problem.

Tuesday, Jan. 29th 2019 I'm pretty much a heavy into it sports person all my life. I seriously use my hands. At 65 I still make my living as a skydiving instructor among other things. In a non-sports related mistake (figures), I managed to completely rupture the tendon on the back of my hand, third finger. 0 function. Not good considering it would end my love it above all else sport. Did a ton of research and went with recommendations for this surgeon at NY Orthopedics. Dr Steven Lee is a Bonafide Magician. Called on a Tuesday 13 weals ago, they got me in to him in Scarsdale for full testing onsite and diagnosis that following Thursday then in the city for a 1½ hour surgery the following Tuesday. Bam. I'm at 12 weeks today post op and along with with Lisa Dominck at Hands on Rehab in Valhalla, I am cut loose and at 100% fuctionality. Awesome. They saved the rest of my career. Everyone and everything about this experience (I can't believe I'm using these terms), was fantastic and even fun! Every person I came in contact with was pleasant, enjoying their work, incredibly professional and as I said about Dr. Lee, magic. Do not hesitate for an instant. Dr. Lee is extremely knowledgable and caring! He did surgery on my left hand after an avocado injury and luckily I've learned my lesson on "how to pit an avocado," however, he's still my go to go for all sports/orthopedic related concerns! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
