If I could give Dr. Isono 50 stars I would. I have seen him twice now for two separate shoulder issues and they have been the two best experiences I have had with any doctor, period. Dr. Isono gives you all the time you need to make sure you understand what is going on, what options you have, what he recommends etc… I hope I don’t have any more reasons to see him, but know if I do I will be in very good hands. Dr Isono is brilliant. You can tell the moment you walk in that you will get the best medical care possible. He explained why getting a good MRI is really important and what the differences are at the providers in the bay area. Best MRI I've had. He also wanted to know my athletic history even though I felt embarassed and worried about using up his office time. So use to having 10 minutes to talk, but not with Dr. Isono. His care shows in who he refers for PT. Best PT. This man healed me. I destroyed my right knee in an electric skateboard accident and I was walking within a month. I am so grateful and humbled to have had such a talented, skilled,and kind surgeon. If anybody is looking for the best orthopedic surgeon in the bay area look no further.

Dr. Isono is the third surgeon I saw for my knee issues, and I will be forever grateful for having met him. He paid careful attention to my symptoms and history, ordered additional diagnostics to get more information and then sketched out a treatment plan, whereas others before him told me I simply had arthritis and would have to deal with not walking and the pain, or recommended questionable surgical options. Most importantly, Dr. Isono gave me hope, which, armed with a better understanding of my condition and working with a caring and competent physical therapist, has led me on a road of recovery. My wife has had two meniscus repairs and a shoulder surgery repairing torn ligaments caused from a seat belt injury from being rear ended. I have also consulted with Dr. Isono on a PTTD issue I had a few years ago. Dr. Isono is one of the very best doctors we've seen, as he spends time explaining the situation of each case to the respective patient and he gives them all of the possible alternatives he can based on their condition. My wife's surgeries have all been very successful. Dr. Isono l's bedside manner is second to none! While he could not perform the PTTD surgery I needed, he consulted with me thoroughly and referred me to a doctor who pioneered full ankle replacements. While I didn't need such an operation, I knew I was in the best possible hands for what I needed. So I wouldn't hesitate seeing Dr. Isono for one minute longer than you need to. He'll give it to you straight, be sure you understand all alternatives and be a good friend in the process! Gets to know you and your medical history and related context, follows up comprehensively on every visit or procedure, proficient with up to date imaging and other diagnostic methodology, top surgeon but also an exceptionally knowledgable source for world class referrals. Last but not least, he is not quick to advocate surgery...
