I went to Dr.Halasz today 2/14/23 for a follow up that I have been waiting for 2 plus months. When I arrived the lady at the front desk asked "do you have an appointment or something"? I didn't like the fact that's the first thing she asked and to top it off she said it with an attitude. I then go to explain to her that I have an appt and the doctor wanted me to come back to follow up on my bloodwork. She stated that my appt was canceled and wasn't sure who did it and also, they don't take my insurance anymore. I began telling her that I was aware that they don't take my insurance anymore but Dr.Halasz wanted to see me one last time to go over everything and he would make an exception. She then rudely began to say, " well you don't have an appointment, I'm not sure what to do". She seemed not to care and was really rude the whole time. I had to take time off of work only to have my time wasted by a rude person as she. It's a shame to have her on his staff because he really is a nice doctor.

Dr. smelled like alcohol just after Lunch. Wants to use paper and pencil glucose logs even though I use a pump that collects 24 hour data. Office staff does not know the difference between insulin cartridges for the pump and vials of Humalog Insulin. Just received a mail order refill of Humalog insulin, 5 vials short. They changed the quantity without any data on me or notifying me.

Heard good things about the Dr, but the office staff needs to be fired! Calls are not returned, and e-mails are answered very curtly asking for info they already have. Even w a referral, have been unable to get them to call me to schedule an appt. Very rude and unprofessional!!

Impossible to reach anyone. Called 4 times to leave a message and no response from 9:30am and still waiting 2:pm. Not the first time I tried to reach them in the past. I'm wondering if the dr. Even knows of patients issues.

Like others mention, I love the doctor with his background and personality, but his office staff is terrible when it comes to answering the phone and/or returning messages. I called 3 times in a week, left a messages and never got a return call. I even brought this up to the doctor on the last visit because I'm a firm believer that if you don't know about a problem, you can't fix it. Apparently, it's not being fixed. The real kicker here is that his wife is part of the internal staff and cannot believe she would set him up for failure. I may be like others and move on just because of this. 10/22/21-Well, after all this time being healthy, I finally needed to go see a doctor. I went online to schedule on a Friday, as their phone message says to do, and got a call with a message on Monday stating they needed to dig out my files from storage since it's been so long. She said she would be back to me the next day. It's been almost 2 weeks now with no call. I've called and left messages twice with no return call. Good thing it's not urgent. I've chosen now to give up on this lousy office. I'm moving on to find another doctor. UFB! I was a patient of Dr. Halasz, for past few years. Wonderful Doctor & great man. However his office staff,(one being his wife apparently) are incompetent. They rarely answer their phone & return calls. I find that completely unacceptable, as we are dealing with health concerns. My pcp has requested my health records, several different times, but no communication back. I am now going to contact a Tallahassee to file a written complaint. I have to assume he was once a competent doctor but that is no longer the case. I first knew I had made a bad choice of a Dr when I went to Bayshore’s ER and the Dr on call said “ we’ve seen lots of Dr Halasz’ patients this week”. A few months later Dr Halasz misdiagnosed my fiancée. If this isn’t bad enough, his front office is a nightmare....incompetent, rude and they never answer the phone......see other reviews below, same complaints. Had an emergency, called office, nurse gave lecture to wife stating he has not been in in 2 years, I need insurance info and can’t get him in until March. Over two year period I have called three times to make an appt. never got a call back. I ended up in the Er and admission to hospital. Had gallbladder removed. Halasz is a good Dr but office manger sucks. I have been using VA instead. I've had Dr Halasz as my Endocrinologist and general practicer for 19 years there is NOBODY ELSE I WOULD TRUST MY HEALTH AND WELLNESS TOO,and I've seen plenty of Dr down here ,his staff is the bomb they always helped me with insurance company, and Dr notes and Aways get back to me and helped me with next day appointments if needed

I had an appointment with Dr. Halasz yesterday and he is the nicest, most caring doctor I have ever met!! His staff are courteous as well!

He has been my doctor for sometime now. A wonderful man , a staff that is wonderful as well. I'm so glad I found him. I've read those negative reviews and I can say that I've had nothing but great experiences with the entire office ????

What a gift to find a doctor that cares more about listening to patients than force feeding "patient portals". Dr. Halasz is a highly intelligent and caring individual. He is the epitome of what a family physician is supposed to be. His staff is like family. Thank God he hasn't retired, the world is a better place with him in it.

A doctor that listens to his patient, how great! Dr Halasz has helped me manage my newly diagnosed type 1 diabetes with the utmost care and professionalism. I am so blessed to have been led to him. He was the only endocrinologist (out of 4) I contacted during the first major COVID shutdown to return my call. He and his staff are genuine and helpful. I live about 90 minutes from his office and will gladly drive that far to have him be my doctor.

Let me start with Dr Halaz, absolutely no complaints. Now his office staff, my wife called to try and make an appointment. I was having severe stomach pains. She was told by the staff “ he has not been in for almost two years. We need his insurance info and we can get an appointment in March. This is Jan now. Ended up at Er and admission to the hospital. Gallbladder removed. No thanks to Halazs office. In the last two years I have tried to make appointments always answer machine and no return calls. As for two years I have been using the VA. Thusthe reason for not seeing him.

I started with Dr. Halasz a year ago. But since COVID they are not even answering their phone. I can’t live with a physician that I have to email. I tried leaving a voicemail but they never got back with me. He is obviously more afraid of COVID than he cares about his patients.

I do not know any drs. office who does not answer the phone and never calls back when you have a question. I have followed his lead and changes and no longer feel comfortable with him. He should retire but he likes collecting the money.

This Dr and especially his front office are a joke. I knew I selected the wrong internist when I went to Bayfront ER and they said “we’ve seen a lot of Dr Halasz’ patients this week”. He should retire and his front office should be fired.

Dr. Halasz is the greatest. If he doesn't know, he will get you to a good doctor that does. His staff is also awesome! We've followed him around the Port Charlotte/Punta Gorda area for 8 years or so and would not trust anyone else with our health.

Dr Halasz is one of the most caring doctors around.

After seeing about four different doctors for my weight and hormone issues, I found out about Dr. Steven Halasz from a co-worker. I called and yes I had to leave a message, but they returned my call right away!! I was preparing myself to get in within the next few weeks or longer, but they were able to get me in the NEXT day!! The staff was very polite and engaging! I LOVE Dr. Halasz"s bedside manner! He actually sat and listened to what I had to say and wasn't trying to hurry me out of the room for his next patient. For the first time in years I felt reassured that I was going to get the help I needed!! The doctor's staff who consist of Angelina, Donna, and Tammy were VERY personable and made me feel I truly existed! The whole staff and Dr. Halasz have treated me with kindness and respect during each visit! Oh and I have been losing weight and am feeling more secure with myself again!! I wanted to add that I have read the other reviews and wanted others to realize that no, you may not always get a physical person when making your calls to them. They're a small staff and are doing the work of a much larger office. Just be patient with them, because they will return your calls and they will be patient with you as well. When I first met them, it felt like we had known each other for a long time!. They've made me laugh while I was depressed and they could see the straining emotions on my face. This man is quite a find. Spends a good amount of time with me, explains everything and is very good at telling me how to handle any of my situations in other ways besides just medicine.

I had to switch doctors also terrible trying to get appointments his staff is worst yet call and ask for meds and its like pulling teeth to get them . and then blood work well a different experience you have to wait to see him no one calls or calls you back. When he was at the Millinneum group he was better and staff thats why I followed him but boy that all change so I left. Nice man tells little jokes here and there. But I need good service I can understand once in a while but every time nope time to go. Nice guy ???? as a person. Terrible to get appointments if you are having and issue. Five people that I know switched to a new doctor. No one should have to go to a walk in clinic when they have a physician. Especially when it is within working hours. Got a cold need meds. Well good luck getting a hold of. If you get a appointment well that is a miracle ???????? Anyway like I said wonderful man. Knowledgeable, great bed side manner and a great guy all around. I love Dr. Halasz and his staff. They are always caring and compasonate. Dr. Halasz is the only doctor that I have seen that takes the time to listen. I have been feeling horable for years! Dr. Halasz is helping me turn the tide. Thank you!!!!! You are a life changer!

Saw Dr Halasz, for first time in February. I was impressed that he seemed very familiar with my complicated and extensive medical history. Very friendly and easy going as was his staff. I think I can build a professional relationship with him and his team.

What doctors are supposed to be... patient focused. No patient portals to navigate through, no Ipads and PCs... just real conversations and personal treatment. Thank you, Dr. Halasz!

The most caring Dr I have ever met. Takes the time to listen to his patients as well as explains things. Glad I switched to his practice. I feel my condition will be under control.

Is one of the best doctors I have dealt with. He has a great bedside manor and is willing to discuss treatment options that are not his first choice.. I really appreciate him and his staff. I highly recommend Dr. Halasz to anyone with an endocrinology issue for sure.

Dr Halasz has taken care of my mother and she is feeling much better. He always on time and has a great attitude

Dr Halasz is a very caring and compassionate doctor I left him for a while and went to another doctor,I couldn't wait to return to Dr Halasz. I would reccomended him to all my friends. He explains everything to you. The office staff are also vety nice.. it is a pleasure to be seeing Dr Halasz once again.
