Great staff! Professional and quick.

Unfortunately, I had a negative experience with this practice, particularly with Lawrence Palmiter, NP, and Nadia Waters. I felt that my needs as a patient were not being adequately heard or addressed. Additionally, I received a response to my secure message in all capital letters, which is not in line with the standards of professionalism within healthcare or business settings. If you are looking for a healthcare provider, I would recommend considering other options before choosing this practice. I hope that they can improve their communication and patient care in the future.

Dr. Gershon was great. He and his assistant are awesome.

Dr. Gershon Dr Wagoneer and Sarah Cullen are all excellent. I have seen them over the past two years while dealing with a herniated L5/S1 injury. They have each given me the best care and have escalated my care as needed which has been a life saver. They are wonderful people and run an excellent practice.

Dr. GERSHON was great. I got an epidural shot today and he guided me through the whole process and made it as painless as possible. Defitnetly a good experience.

I was seen by Dr. Gershon for a nerve test. Going in, it was quite unnerving however, Dr. Gershon took time to explain each step of the process and opened the floor for questions before we proceeded. The procedure was exactly as briefed and painless. I HIGHLY recommend Gershon pain specialist for your pain and concerns.

He explains the issues in a way that is easy to understand, which a lot of doctors I have had are not able to do. I am very thankful, and great full for his staff. February 2021 Dr Gershon did an EMG study revealing, unbeknown to me, peroneal neuropathy. He never followed up with me of the results and I continued with pain management with the NP for another problem. Now a year + later returning for on going problems Dr Gershon, NP, and another physician comes into the room to inform me I need surgery for peroneal nerve entrapment. This procedure I’ll be having could’ve been a thing of the long past as now I’ll possibly be having two more surgeries after this. I highly recommend that anyone seeking pain management go elsewhere. He should not be practicing medicine!!! I have 118 pages of medical records, no mention of him following up nor needing surgery. Go to Dr. Tseng, with Sentara. Dr. Gershon and his team has turn my world around for the Good! I was in a very bad car accident in 2019. I suppose to have been treat by another practice (EVMS pain specialist) for two years didnt get the proper treatment for my injuries. But praise God he lead me to Dr. Gershon, C.J., and Robert. February 2021 Dr Gershon did an EMG study which revealed that I had peroneal neuropathy. Upon continuing pain management for a different problem he never followed up with me on the findings of the EMG. Now a year + later he comes in the room and informs me I need surgery for peroneal nerve entrapment. What a shock I was in. He failed doing his job as a care giver! This could’ve been a thing of the past, as now I’m looking at possibly two more surgeries after this one. My advice seeking pain management, go else where. Dr Tseng is highly recommend.

Dr. Gershon is honestly the best doctor I have ever encountered. He is attentive to his patients and truly concerned for their well being. He takes the time to listen and works with you to diagnose your issues. He is very well educated in every aspect of the body and takes the time to explain things in layman’s terms. He reaches out directly to other doctors that he refers you to and discusses your care and comes up with a care plan on both ends. After working a year and a half with me trying to avoid surgery; there was no other recourse other than surgery. He sat with me and suggested surgeons within my insurance network and explained why he thought these were doctors I should consider. He suggested that I get more than one opinion on surgical treatment options and then scheduled a follow up with me for after my consultations. When I met with him at my follow up we discussed what both surgeons had discussed and their treatment plan. He listened to me and answered any additional questions I had. I left his office feeling as if I could make an educated decision on a surgeon and treatment plan. A week after surgery he called and checked in on how my recovery was going. His timing could not have been more perfect as I had a ton questions that I felt I was not getting answered in reference to my after care instructions. Dr. Gershon took the time to answer all my questions and then hung up with me and called my surgeon. My surgeon then called me immediately and apologized that he had not received any messages in my regard. I have had nothing but an amazing experience with Dr Gershon and his staff. To top it off I have only had to wait a short time at any visit to see him; and the one time I had a long wait I did so patiently as I knew he was taking the same time with another patient as I know I have receive each and every visit. I was sitting in the waiting room with a family member and we overheard the office manager (im assuming) yelling and cussing out the front desk girl who checked us in. I have had issues with my spine for years and years and multiple surgeries and I’ve never been given the kind of information and individual attention that Dr. Gershon has given me About my condition. he is extremely thorough, helpful, friendly and treats me like a human and not some person trying to get medication!

I was extremely disappointed with my experience with this office. I had set up my appointment that had been confirmed several times by text. When I arrived for my first appointment, I was asked if I had completed the packet off information. I explained I hadn't received the information, and I was notified I would have to be rescheduled. I spoke with office manager that stated this was office protocol, that was never communicated to me. I had significantly rearranged my own schedule, and was looking forward to a process for healing. I was offered another appointment on another day. I left the office tearful I was so disappointed. I won't return.

I have been going to Dr Gershon and Charlie the CNP for 8+ years. I have always received excellent service and a good response to the epidurals that I get! Every 3-4 months get injection and pain is 2 points better than baseline for at least 3 months. Also am buying Verséa Hemp tincture from them. It’s has given me overall pain relief! Ok so if I could rate a 0 i would! I went to gershon pain management looking for alternative treatments and ways to treat my pain because medications were not working. I have multiple pain issues and I am a complex case. One of the nurses at the ER spoke highly of them treating her for complex regional pain which is one thing I have. First appointment I saw dr. Gershon who wanted to send me to physical therapy in Franklin when I live in Portsmouth which wss not ok. Then I never saw him again. I saw his pa who I really thought highly of, until they pretty much blew me off because I told them medications did not help and the looked at scan and said they did not see where injections would help, so wanted me to go to a facility out of town. Well I did that and tried to get another appointment to see them. But got a certified letter saying they did all they could to help me. How???? I went maybe 4 times and because they had no idea what kind of pain I had, they did not even try to figure it out or treat me. I know they do more than injections and medications, but even so they literally gave up on me. I do see another pain management who I love and who tries to help me with medication, but sometimes medications do not help and you need other things. Injection in my back. I’ve had several over several years and always helped. Basically painless except for a little stick and some pressure from the meds. I will continue going back to him until I need surgery. These injections have kept me out of back surgery for several years. He IS my go to person for any pain I have.

In January 2019, my self-worth was very low. I would trip and fall at work and even at indoor dog agility class. I would ask myself, “Am I just getting old and clumsy?” Will I need to reduce my hours at work? My joints often ached, my muscles were weak and I felt tired. Not good. My wife was scheduled for a procedure at 3:20 PM. We confirmed the appointment by email and phone. We arrived on time and checked in. We sat and sat in the lobby with no explanation why we were not seen right away as in the past. We were told that there was a back up. Then we were told that my wife was in the procedure room and yet she was sitting in the waiting room. Then we were told it may take 45 more minutes of waiting for her procedure. Finally, just before 5 pm (they close at 5) she was rushed into the procedure room. There was a lot of rushing around in the room and this caused my wife to become very anxious and afraid. This on top of having to wait over an hour for a scheduled procedure that would only take about 10 minute was too much for my wife to bear. And so she decided not to have the procedure. There was never any explanation of why she was not treated at the time of her appointment.

This pain management office should not be in business. They prescribed me pain meds for months and months without seeing any Drs or Dr assistants! They make a big speech about "if you ever see another Dr for pain meds", or "if you test dirty" they will "notify the local police and the state" on you. Well, isn't it against Virginia law to prescribe a narcotic without any drug testing for almost a year?

Prior to a nerve test (EMG) my research revealed that the test can be painful and unpleasant. I was anxious about the procedure. During the procedure my anxiety was immediately gone. NO PAIN. Dr. Gershon provided a completely pain free nerve study. It is obvious to me that the pain felt by a patient during this procedure is clearly determined by the skill of the physician. Dr. Gershon has perfected a method of administering this procedure that is pain-free for patients. Other physicians clearly need to study his method and follow suit. I highly recommend Dr. Gershon for a painless EMG study.

This practice is terrible. Only had one appointment with Dr Gershon and the rest I had were with his nurse practitioner. Dealing with a chronic illness and chronic pain stemming from my illness and many many surgeries in the past few years. I have been on many different meds to try and manage my pain and NONE have helped the way narcotics have. And they straight up told me they won't prescribe at this clinic and whenever I'd bring it up his nurse practitioner would always get an attitude with me. They are both rude and extremely condescending like I don't know what the hell I was talking about and more or less treated me like I was just some drug seeker. How are you going to be a pain specialist and not prescribe certain medications that have been documented in a patients past medical history and have worked. They just don't want to be held accountable in case anything happens. Overall if you deal with severe chronic pain and a chronic illness take your business elsewhere. You won't get much accomplished here, they do not listen, don't care, and speak to you like you're an idiot. Just another arrogant doctor. This place is an absolute scam. Worthless. Poor communication. Several messages from pharmacy and myself unanswered. Pain management process should include seeing patients at their sceduled appointment time. No apologies for extended time in waiting room....

I was scheduled for an apt. Then it was cancled and rescheduled for a week later. I had already arranged my ride now I have to do it again. Dr. Gershon is good but his office staff is terrible!

I have been in pain for years and when I got to doctor Gershon he told me I was on the wrong meds. He switched my meds within an hour of me taking my meds I was pain free!! I thank God for sending me to him. He is definitely a blessing to me!!

I suffered a recurrence more than two years after my last recurrence so was uncertain as to how long I would have to wait to be seen. Fortunately, they had a cancellation and were able to accommodate me the next day. Dr. Gershon’s assistant, Cheryl, was able to do an assessment and set me up with physical therapy the same day and was able to fit me in for a cortisone shot the next day. They literally saved our vacation (which was to start 3 days later) with our children/grandchildren that had been planned for almost a year. She said not likely so I walked right out. Before that she kept asking about diabetes and thyroid problems which I do not and never have had. This doctor billed for services not provided. Sent the patient to a lawyer to sue for damages being in a motor vehicle accident. Had the patient sign a lien for services without explaining they were not billing the patients insurance company, then after 3 years decided to bill the patient because their office filing system is in disarray. It’s the most shadiest office I have ever dealt with. The patient decided not to proceed with the doctors lawyer and ended being billed for services not even provided. I shadowed Dr. Gershon for an entire day. Whenever possible, he took time to teach me about his methods and procedures. He truly cares about his patients and ensures that they receive the best possible care. I am baffled by some of these reviews. In my time with Dr. Gershon, he barely sat down. He was constantly running around from patient to patient, consulting with other doctors and doing everything in his power to alleviate his patients' pain. Dr. Gershon is compassionate and competent!

He allows his physician assistant to do everything. He doesn’t even talk to you. You see him one time barely and you see his P.A the rest of the time. His PA Mary Jo is thoughtless and insensitive. Don’t be fooled. He believes everything she says. If the sky was green, he would believe her. She isn’t a Doctor for a reason. They are heartless and only care about money. No wonder his guys practice is still open. I went there for hip pain and he immediately came to the conclusive diagnosis of a bulged disc. He put me through the ringer with MRIs and a back brace. He charged my insurance $1250 for it which left me responsible for $750. The brace retails for $250 at most. I found out he only pays $92 per back brace. After countless dollars and time wasted they decided to say it’s not a spine problem. This guy is a phony and doesn’t prescribe any pain meds either.
