Dr. Steven Rance Dyer

Great ENT. Took my son and experienced a superb level of attentiveness by dr dyed and all staff in the office throughout the duration of my time.

I met Dr. Dyer in Saint Francis hospital. With his skill and expertise he helped to save the life of my 2 month old critically ill baby by placing a tracheostomy. He never struck me as the warm and fuzzy type when I pointed out we had the same last name (No relation), but has always taken special consideration to monitor and care for my baby, answered my questions and addressed my every concern. I would not recommend him to anyone who wants warm sugary interactions or to have their feelings petted, but if you need a skilled surgeon or physician I would highly recommend Dr. Dyer. It is with a great deal of gratitude and thankfulness that I write this review. My baby is now 7 months old and doing quite well on his trach and vent. Thank you Dr. Dyer! Dr. Dyer was attentive, understanding, and considerate. He has an excellent team including his PA, Emily, who we also loved. We are so glad our pediatrician sent us to Dr. Dyer. We are confident in and thankful for the care we received from him and his staff today.

When he came to examine me, it was definitely very obvious that he didn't have time for me. I told him why I was there and he seemed bothered to examine me, and then started to walk out. I told him my other issue and said I told my primary doctor and his nurse , and he still was bothered. I said do you need to go and he said I have been here a long time already. He also prescribed a cream for my nose and he said the bottle says to not put this in your nose but we do it all the time. Why would someone prescribe something and be so casual about it. Never will I go back to his office and will never recommend him to anyone I know. been in here When he came to examine me, it was definitely very obvious that he didn't have time for me. Dr. Dyer is amazing.

Dr. Dyer was very kind, knowledgeable and professional during both of my recent visits. He explained things thoroughly and answered all of my questions without me ever feeling rushed or ignored.

Dr. Dyer has performed two surgeries on me one August of 2020 and then one in November 2020 to remove a very fibrosed thyroid that was 8cm. He was beyond professional and instead of just pushing me through surgeries to get them done he actually made me wait until my vocal chords was completely healed before he would even think about doing the 2nd surgery. I was cut in the exact same spot twice on my neck and people can’t even see the scar as it looks like I might’ve just scratched my neck. He is very prompt on appts and takes his role as a Dr. very seriously. Thank you Dr. Dyer for everything and fixing what has been broken for more years than I’ll ever know. I feel like I’m finally living and not just existing and I owe it all to you and Dr. Gaut. If your looking for the best ENTS look no farther than this. Their excellent in their profession and I highly recommend them to all. I was referred to Dr. Dyer by my pcp. I was treated promptly by the Audiologist who was very friendly. Dr. arrived a few moments later, checked out my ears and throat and was very professional and kind. Soothed my worries of throat issues from smoking 50+ years. I did not feel rushed at all..

He did surgery on ears of my daughter. Everything went great! He is a professional and very caring about his little patients. He explained to me all my concerns and even more than I asked him. I am happy with my choice of the doctor. The staff was polite and helpful too.

Dr dryer is an in and out doctor. he does not care to listen, and he does not care to talk to you about anything other than his thoughts. My wife went to see him about an inner ear issue. He had already decided what her problem was before even walking in the room, and did not care to listen to her questions or concerns. She spoke with his assistant and explained what she was experiencing, and I guess he felt like that was good enough. We had done a lot of research concerning her symptoms and there were a lot of inconsistencies with what he said versus what she was experiencing. He did not even consider what she was saying. after he instructed her to get some tests, she wanted to ask him some questions concerning his possible diagnosis. While she was talking he was very clearly trying to walk out the door even though she was not done talking and he had not answered all of her questions. He opened the door and left when she stopped talking only for a moment. She was not finished talking to him but he was done listening. When we returned home we looked up the thing he thinks it is and it does not match her symptoms or sensitivities at all. None of the red flags match up with what she told him. Dr. Dyer is very knowledgeable, very over scheduled but all around a good doc. His audiologist not so much. People please look elsewhere if looking for hearing tests,his audiologist can not be trusted at all. Her lack of communication and knowledge of her job is not acceptable. She has horrible customer service skills. For the sake of your child please go elsewhere. And be prepared for a long wait to get in to see Dr. Dyer!! Absolutely love Dr. Dyer! My son was referred to him after several misdiagnosis’ by his initial ENT that resulted in multiple antibiotics and months of continued suffering. Dr. Dyer however took the time to listen to us and a plan to help my son was set into motion on our first visit. It took several tests, CTs, and surgeries to figure out and ultimately fix my son’s Brachial Cleft Cyst, but Dr. Dyer was amazing through it all. Highly, highly recommend him. Dr. Dyer is very attentive, takes the time to explain everything and answer any questions you may have, has a wonderful bed side manner, and is very knowledgeable. I can’t think him enough for what he has done for my son. My son has since had to have tubes placed as well and we of course had Dr. Dyer perform the procedure. We were referred to Dr. Dyer by our pediatrician to get a lip tie resolved, as we were told that the lip tie was an outpatient procedure and would not be a big deal. We made our intent known when we made our appointment. When we showed up to actually have this procedure done, Dr. Dyer refused to do it and told us to go to a pediatric dentist. We came to find out later that we were billed for the visit anyway, even though we ended up having the reason for our visit resolved by another practice -- per his recommendation. Thanks, doc! I saw Dr. Dyer because my 3 year old had growths in his nose. I was a concerned parent and was interested in getting answers. Dr. Dyer had zero regard for my concerns. He did a simple exam to look at my son's nose, ears and throat, then gave his diagnosis. He then walked himself out of the room while we were talking. He even acknowledged the concerned look on my face as he was walking out, but continued talking as he left the room. He never asked if I had questions. He never stopped to explain his diagnosis- why, how, what. He simply said there was nothing to do. I left just as confused as I was when I came in. I do not recommend Dr. Dyer as his approach to patients is very uncaring, egotistical, and rushed. As a paying customer, I expect to receive my money's worth in regards to care. Dr. Dyer was great to work with! He is so kind and professional. He took time to explain things and answer all of our questions. We are so pleased we chose him to help our daughter!

After two separate referrals to Dr. Dyer, two visits, and a CT scan, he was unable to give me a diagnosis, stating he had no idea what the problem was. After nearly 8 months of pain and suffering with sinus pain, inflammation, and headaches, I finally was referred to a new ENT, who immediately was able to diagnose my symptoms. He also reviewed the previous CT scan I had with Dyer, and was surprised to see that the CT scan results clearly defined the problems. New doctor got me in for surgery and I am now feeling relief, after a year of suffering. I'm 22 and just had my tonsils out. I could not have asked for a better experinece! Dr. Dyer was quick and made sure I understood the surgery from beginning to end! All of the nurses and other staff members were so sweet and kind after surgery. Thankfully I have had very minimal pain (and I have a very low pain tolerance) and no bleeding at all. I am very thankful I had Dr. Dyer and would highly recommend him for a tonsillectomy no matter your age! I'm 22 and just had my tonsils out. I could not have asked for a better experinece!
