Hands down the BEST allergist in Central IL. He is kind, compassionate, and amazingly intelligent. We have trusted him with our son’s allergies since he was 3 months old, and Dr. Smart has always taken great care of him while giving us the support we need to navigate scary allergies in a little one. Most recently, he worked directly with a local pharmacy after office hours on a holiday weekend to find a medication our miserable, difficult to medicate preschooler could tolerate. We were close to taking our son to the emergency department, and thanks to his dedication, we did not have to. By the next day, our little guy was feeling so much better. Dr. Smart has kept me sinus headache free for one year and I am very grateful to God and to Dr. Smart!!!!

Dr. Smart treated my allergic asthma for 4 years before I moved to Florida. He & everyone in his office treated me well, responded immediately to phone call questions & concerns, & made sure I always had my medication. Would love if he would move to Florida to continue my care!!

If you have children with actual food allergies, like to peanuts, I would run from his place. I was told by doctors that places that used refined peanut oil are probably fine to eat at because the chances are very low that the refinery would make a mistake. ???? Also on a day I was to come in for scratch testing I wasn’t told to stop daily antihistamine. One of the nurses smells very strongly of cigarettes... it’s been multiple issues every time and I had enough. I would NEVER feel safe doing food testing here and have zero confidence in these doctors I actually wish I could warn people outside of this review. AVOID THIS DOCTOR Dr. Smart was backed up with patients, resulting in being physically shaking, mentally clouded, irritable becoming very rude when asking sincere questions regarding the dynamics of numerous allergies. When called out, admitted rudeness, apologized, then stated as justification that he had "already had 3 problem patients" as if I was I becoming judged to be one as well. Simply because I was being thorough in seeking to understand my allergies, and appearant severity. Ownership of a doctor's office comes with a broad responsible, and specific respect that I did not experience here. And to be frank, it was his schedule that was not puctual, while I was puctual. So, wouldn't it have been appropriate to be considerate, & patient with me (given my 45 minute wait) rather than me having to be patient & calm with his blaten rudeness & lack of willingness to cover my care (by simply answering questions of concern)? Since then, a referral had been sent there (mistake of Dr Tennant), & Dr smarts office completely ignored it the referral, notified no one of refusal to treat me, no one redirected the refferal, nor any contact back with Dr Tennant regarding refusal. It took a month to figure out that my referral was sent to the location (smarts office) that I asked to not be seen by again because of the above experience. Everyone at Dr.Smarts office is great, always polite and concerned for your health. Dr. Smart is good with patients. I would highly recommend anyone with allergies to be seen at Asthma and Allergy Peoria. Thank you all at Dr. Smarts office.

Dr. Smart is wonderful. He took such great care of our 6 month old, identified his allergies, and set us up with treatments for his multiple issues that day, which was a day we had only scheduled a consultation. We now have a happy, non-itchy 8 month old baby for the first time, and I’m so thankful we were blessed by Dr Smart!

I thought Dr. Smart was great, took time with us and was very thorough with what should be done! Very pleased with our first visit!
