I had my appointment yesterday and it was a pleasant experience for me. From the waiting room, to the ultrasound and to my annual routine exam. Every staff were nice and respectful. Dr Stephen Scarantino took time to do my assessment, showed me my ultrasound images and explained everything in details. Dr. Scarantino was my OB doctor while I was pregnant with my second son. I saw him a total of one time during my entire pregnancy. I saw PAs and NPs from his office every visit. The one time that he did see me, he seemed to be irritated and in a hurry. I was very uncomfortable dealing with him. In addition, I voiced to his office that I was in a lot of pain and discomfort during the last few weeks of my pregnancy. Ultrasounds done at the office said repeatedly that my son was 8 lbs at 38-40 weeks. I was dilated 4.5cm at 37 weeks and they would not induce me or put me out of work even though I could barely walk. I even had to go into the hospital due to how much discomfort and pain I was in. While I was at the hospital, the hospital physician called Dr. Scaratino to ask if they could induce me because I was actively contracting but not dilating further. He told them that he does not give permission to induce me and i carried for 3 more weeks after that....TBC

While my experience with The Women's Pavilion was decent, my experience with Dr. Scarrantio differs. This was my first time giving birth, and he was awful. As I was trying to push my baby out (who was in a difficult position to push out) he gives me what he probably thinks is a pep talk. He goes "I'm here to deliver the baby, but you have to do the work" listen buddy, what the heck do you think I'm trying to do???? He was trying to rush my delivery! Did you have somewhere else to be???? Because that is how you made me feel. Like MY time was not important. My baby is over a year old now and I will NEVER forget how you made me feel. Shame on you. I have been a patient of Dr Scarantino for over 12 years. He delivered all of my children and was always available to return a call whenever I had a question during any of my pregnancies. Now that I have been seeing him as a Gyn patient, he has continued to show me that he has a great bedside manner. Sure, appointments may take flexibility and waiting room time might be long, but once I am called for my appointment, Dr Scarantino is attentive, sensitive, and professional. He listens to concerns and gives clear explanations. The care is excellent. Highly recommended.

As I was trying to push my baby (who was facing head up which makes it harder for baby to come out) he gives me what he probably thinks is a pep talk. He goes "I'm here to deliver the baby, but you have to do the work" listen buddy, what the heck do you think I'm trying to do? I'm in pain, sweating, uncomfortable, and trying my best to push my baby out. This doctor is horrible and not patient. He was trying to rush me. My baby is over a year old now and I will NEVER forget how you made me feel. Inadequate and you basically shamed me. You suck!

Wait time was unacceptable. Was there for an hour and a half for an annual exam. TV in waiting room was so inappropriately loud, making the wait more irritating. Each person I interacted with along the way felt like a robotic interaction, and asked questions I could have easily filled out in the paperwork rather than adding additional steps to the process if that would make things run even a little more smoothly. Most upsetting of all is that they would only refill birth control for 6 months and require you to come back in 6 months so they can rack up more unnecessary charges and further inconvenience you. Any other place prescribes for 12 months - this is supposed to be a once a year obligation - that's why it's called an "annual". Will not be returning. Wait time was unacceptable. I was seen in their Westbury office this week Thursday and I must say I was IMPRESSED to say the least. From the front desk staff all the way to the clinical staff in the back. It was clearly a very busy day for them, but not once did anyone seem flustered or unhappy to be at their work place. I waited quite a while, more then I'm used to anywhere else however, Dr. Scarantino and his staff gave me more then enough time to handle every issue I had. He was patient, explained all my options and even followed it up with a sonogram. His tech in the room with him during my exam, was very pleasant and made me feel comfortable from the time she brought me in the room. I am beyond pleased with this practice and will continue my care here. I was a new patient, after being with a Doctor for almost 25 years that had retired. Finding Dr. Scarantino was like a blessing in disguise. Thank you to Dr. Scarantino and his wonderful staff. Dr. Scarantino is one professional and experienced MD’s I’ve meet. He explains everything in detail answers every single question one might have. Listen passionately! His bedside care is unbelievable, listened to every corner I had. Called his office and was on the phone in less than 5 minutes!!!!!! Absolutely the BEST! Highly recommended A+

Honestly, one of the worst places you can choose to go to. The patient service there is horrible. They lack any care or compassion for your concerns. The front desk lady is especially the worst one. On some days, she is bearable, but that is just me settling. I am currently looking for a new OBGYN to attend. Truthfully, would not recommend on any level. The staff are very friendly and helpful! They do their job with passion! Dr Scarentino and his associates are very knowledgeable of their practice! I will definitely recommend my friends there!

I am in disbelief, when I met Dr. Scarantino, I knew he was the one. His assistant Vanessa was amazing. I met the him once and that's all I needed. I had a hysterectomy and he did a marvelous job. I would not recommend nobody else but him. He is just amazing, thank you Dr. Scarantino.

Dr. Scarantino is a rare find. He is compassionate and genuine. He quickly diagnosed my problem and then performed surgery. I immediately felt better and I have been doing great ever since. The doctor returns your calls promptly. You can tell that he really cares about his patients. He is awesome!
