About Stephen Clayton Saris
Reviews for Stephen Clayton Saris
I had suffered a painful cervical injury which brought me to Dr. Saris. We met via both telehealth and in-office visits. I've always felt heard and honored as a patient. My injury, procedures, and options were always explained to me in way that I could understand, always with compassion. Surgery was necessary in my case, and it was scheduled in a timely manner. All of my questions were answered, and I even had specific surgical requests that were honored by Dr. Saris and the hospital staff. My surgery went very well, and I was able to rest and recover comfortably at home. Surgical recovery is a journey that the patient is also responsible for. I followed all of the post- op guidelines from Dr. Saris such as having support at home, diet suggestions, and more. Every day my condition improved due to Dr. Saris and his team. My mood lifted, energy level increased, and confidence soared due to the decrease of chronic pain. I am so very grateful for my experience with Dr. Saris and staff.
I would recommend Dr. Saris to anyone without hesitation after the very positive experience I have had with him. He explained the entire procedure exactly as it would happen, answered all my questions and the results have been wonderful.
Dr. Saris simply and clearly explained the problem I was having with my back pain and provided me with my options. I felt very at ease with him and I trusted his opinion. I proceeded with surgery. His staff, especially his nurse Sarah for which I received a phone call from her Sunday night prior to my surgery day to check in with me and gave me her personal cell phone number so my wife could follow-up while I was recovery. All Dr. Saris' staff went beyond their job description to prepare me and answer any questions I may have had. Dr. Saris personally called me after my surgery to ask how I was doing and had a conversation with me about my recovery thus far and what to expect as the days progressed. I highly recommend Dr. Saris if you have any pain or discomfort and require a Neurosurgeon.
excellent physician, professional and practical. advised me against surgery, even though that is how he makes his living. Rare thing to find honesty and integrity these days.

Dr. Saris and Dr. Casper recommended microdiscectomy back surgery. I had the surgery in JUNE 2020 during COVID pandemic. Dr. SARIS office was very helpful scheduling all my appointments. I felt very comfortable and safe in the office and hospital. I would recommend Dr. Saris to anyone.
I went in to meet with Dr.Saris in in February, I was told I needed to have back surgery. I went forward with my procedure & I ended up with great results. I am able to get back to work, and spend time with my family pain free! Would highly recommend.
Had evaluation a few months ago. Was told I didn't need surgery and I should try injections. I am so glad I went to Dr. Saris. I feel great and no surgery.
I am a patient of Dr. Saris who performed surgery on my neck a few weeks ago. I feel great and have not had anymore pain.

A total NO.My son who's paralyzed from waist down and also has trigeminal neuralgia was scheduled to have surgery with Dr Saris and date, time, location, & not told to fast the day of his surgery was what Shane encountered. Left to wait as a result in Boston (instead of Foxboro) because of all the incompetantcy of office for wheelchair van back to facility in Easton where he resides. Just wonderful really.????????????

Dr Saris in contracted by insurance companies to perform IME’s. He gets paid a lot of money to make up false reports about your health. One would think a doctor would not be able to lie about your injury but he can. I have read several of his IME reports and they are all standardized. He changes a few things in them like your name and date but everything else states according to medical journals your injury is soft tissue and your injury has healed. My favorite is you failed the Waddell test, which is basically is way of saying you are lying about your injuries. I have consulted several attorneys and they all know who he is and that he falsifies his reports. Apparently when you quote a medical journal or give your personal medical opinion it’s not considered lying. Saris told me I was not injured and I can go back to work. 3 weeks after his IME I was having back surgery in Boston to fix “my healed back injury.” I guess money is more important than his integrity. Perhaps a good surgeon but I left the consultation ready to scream. Looking for possible treatment for surgery that left some things worse than before. He said there were only three reasons for a second opinion and one was to see if the prior surgeon did a good job. I was insulted, that was not what I was seeking, I was looking for options available to me. Very patronizing, examined by PA who consulted with surgeon. Please don't see this surgeon unless you are sure he will be the guy who cuts you open. He doesn't have time for non-surgical consultations. This doctor is a complete fraud. Just had an IME from him at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He works for the insurance companies and has no interest in patient injuries and ongoing difficulties. He boasts a bragging resume and trys to sell himself throughout the Country doing IME'S. My exam lasted less than 15 minutes and he concluded my injuries were healed. Never let me finish paperwork and lied throughout report. He will not listen to one word you say and his mind is made up before exam in favor of employer insurance. I will be filing multiple reports against this doctor for his failure to properly write a truthful report that does not lie so he can continue to be employed by their sole interest against the working class. Shameful he is allowed to do this to people. You do not want any involvement with this doctor. He is bad news!!! This doctor is a complete fraud. Forty years ago, I fell from a ladder which resulted in cervical and lumbar fusions; five years after that, a procedure called a cervical foraminotomy. With the help of a lot of medication and more intestinal fortitude than I knew I had, I managed to continue working through it all until I retired four years ago. I recently started experiencing cervical spasms of a very violent nature, I lost control of my car, climbed the curb and nearly hit a group of kids and it was happening often. I was scared, went to my primary care doctor who sent me to Dr. Saris who proved to be the rudest man I’ve ever met. While reviewing my MRI, he contradicted what I was told in the past. While I cannot fault him for that, it was confusing and I was not allowed to ask a single question or make a single comment; Dr. Saris would repeatedly wave his index finger right in my face, make “shushing” noises and say “let me talk” (no one has done that to me since an ill-tempered nun in the fifth grade!!). Afterward, without my being able to say a word, he said that the pain I was complaining about was due to the fact that I’m “pushing 70”. Annoying as the age comment was, it was the first part of that statement that made me lose my temper. Dr. Saris would have to be a telepath to know what pain I was experiencing because I never even got to say a single word about why I was there in the first place. I left with far more questions than I entered with and I still have no idea what is causing these violent spasms which caused me to lose control of my car and come close to plowing through a group of kids. Now I’m afraid to drive anywhere. If you’re suffering from any chronic pain and have new symptoms (and if you’re over 40), I STRONGLY advise you to GO ELSEWHERE!!!! I had a telehealth consultation this morning with Dr. Saris after an ER visit to B&W hospital for an emergency neurosurg eval. regarding long-standing cervical injuries. To begin, it took less then 24 hours from my ER discharge to the time Michelle from the office contacted me to set my follow- up appointment. I was scheduled within 72 hours. When you are having spinal disc/cord concerns, this rapid response from a medical team is paramount. Dr. Saris was easy to talk to and explained things in a way I could relate to and understand. I felt that he understood me as a younger(ish) disabled person and all of the fears and concerns that come along with that. I appreciated the time I was given in order to explain and share my experience. Dr. Saris alleviated my worst fears and brought things in to perspective for me. I accompanied my dad to an initial appointment with Dr Saris. Dr. Saris was not prepared for the appointment. He was unaware that my dad had prior unsuccessful back surgeries even though we brought mri with us. He hadn't looked . He was actually not sure why we were there. Not helpful. Unable to answer questions His only responses "you should ask your pcp." Even though he was the specialist. In 15 minutes of no help, no advice, a singular comment "you sure have a boatload of arthritis" he sure left a lasting nonsurgical scar on my father.
Dr Saris operated on my back in 2015. I also had a Meningioma tumor on my brain that Dr Saris removed. I’m so thankful for him. He is a very caring and professional Dr. Always took his time and answered all my questions. I would recommend him to my friends and family. He’s the best!
Spinal Decompression surgery follow up. 100% recovered !!!! No pain. Zero! Nada! Dr. Saris was very attentive. He listens. He responds to questions. He explains things clearly. Amazing! Best "bedside manner" I have experienced from a doctor of any type in at least 40 years. Outstanding!
My husband saw Dr. Saris in late 2019. I accompanied him. We brought his current MRI and radiologist report of his lumbar spine. He did not review the MRI and glanced at the report. He could not understand why there was a 4 inch scar on my husband's back. If he had read the report he would have known it was from 2 separate surgeries each having a 2 inch scar. We had many questions. He answered none except to say "That's a good question. You need to go back to your primary care doctor." I would not recommend Dr. Saris to anyone.
My experience was, and is, exceptional. I am in the follow up stage of treatment by Gamma Knife. My interactions with Dr. Saris have always been thorough, on time, and most importantly, compassionate yet frank. Exactly what you need from a physician. I highly recommend him. With you health the issue you need a good professional.
was kept very at ease through out my appointments and surgery before and after.
Ian from Falmouth. I was going to go to one of the doctors at Cape Cod Hospital, but my cousin had Dr. Saris years ago and recommended him highly. His office was great. The doctor saw me ahead of time and went over all my imaging studies with me in his private office. We did the surgery up at the Brigham and Women's Hospital and it went great. My back is still a little achy, but the leg pain is gone. I think the nerve damage is gone too. I could not be happier with the result.
I had a spell a few weeks ago when I may have loss of vision in one eye for a few hours. I was sent for neurosurgery evaluation because one of the tests showed that the artery in front of my neck was narrow. I saw a doctor at another hospital, but she seemed too aggressive for me. I saw Dr. Saris for another opinion. He said he does not do this operation anymore, but the artery was only 30% blocked. He said he did not feel I needed an operation, but only needed my bone set up a bit. He sent me back to my internist to refer me on to a neurologist. So glad I did not do the surgery. I had 2 visits/surgeries with Dr Saris. I am still need of a 3rd for my Trigeminal issue but cannot go back to him as my insurance is no longer accepted. I'm sad beyond belief as my 2 prrvioud surgeries with him were result full. He is the king of being very personable, awesome listener, he got the job done for me. I could not have been any happier.
I had read on this site the good and bad reviews of Dr. Saris before the video appt. with him. Let me say Dr. Saris was EXCELLENT! He was very friendly, very knowledgeable, explained in great detail, made sure to ask me quite a few times if he could answer any questions, and was very nice! He even showed in the video appt. the mri scans he was looking at and explained in great detail what was wrong and what could be done to fix it! I would VERY MUCH reccomend him!
I would like to say Dr. Saris did surgery on my back on December 14, 2020. He was a very compassionate doctor who made me feel very at ease and comfortable during my first visit to him. As far as the surgery went he did a wonderful job and I had very little pain afterwards. I would recommend any of my friends or family with a problem with their back to him. The incision on my back is very small and does not bother me at all. I have made a complete recovery thanks to Dr. Saris.
All the Staff are very friendly, great energy and professional. Waiting is short and they’re attentive. Thank you Dr. Saris for your support!
Only does this for $$$. Pathetic. Spent total 6 minutes in my workers comp evaluation with me. Didnt even look me in my eyes. Hate him
My primary care physician did an MRI that showed severe narrowing of my spinal canal. I was starting to lose feeling in my leg. He referred me up to Dr. Saris’ clinic near Gillette Stadium. He was really nice and spent a lot of time going over things with me and my wife. The surgery was done in Attleboro at Sturdy Hospital. I am back to work, and apart from some tightness around my incision I feel back to normal. I have not worked quite this well in years.
Awful experience. Don’t trust this Dr.

So ill give my surgeon 5 stars but the front desk people will be receiving 0 stars. If youre in pain after your surgery or anytime after that, good luck getting in touch with the office. Three days, 7 phone calls, voicemails left on every extension, nothing. Disgusted.

His patience and calmness coupled with his technical expertise has been very important and much appreciated as he cared for me during a critical operation to save my ability to walk.
The doctor was very knowledgeable, assuring, and helpful in easing my mind about the results of my lumbar x-ray.
Dr. Steve always answers and helps me with the issues that I came to see him for. Very knowledgeable and professional! Would recommend him to everyone! Even gave me his cell phone number.

Great bedside manners, kind, caring and will follow up without question on your condition. Great listener and goes above and beyond what is expected. I am 76 yrs old and was so happy that they still had doctors with such integrity. I feel so my more healthy and can live my life pain free since my surgeries.
You are safe with Dr. Saris. He performed my surgery after several rounds of steroid treatment, PT, and continued pain. He did an excellent consultation, educated me after the diagnosis, and took his time.
I feel so much better. I have had about 15 years of severe pain traveling into my left chin. They say it is because of an artery putting pressure on one of my brain nerves. Rita from Uxbridge. Dr. Saris’ office asked me to write something about my care, and I was glad to do so. It turns out, I have a benign tumor called a meningioma. So I happened to visit Dr. Saris(based on online reviews about him) who recommended a more conservative procedure called the Gamma Knife. So far, and I am a year or two out, the tumor has shrunk up a lot. I have not had a seizure and I am thinking of coming off all my seizure pills. I saw Stephen Saris because of my insurance. I saw he had a relatively respectable rating online so I was initially hopeful. Then I got to see him and realized why his ratings were artificially inflated: he told the patient he saw before me 3 times to "make sure you rate me good online!" like a desperate Uber driver asking for a 5-star rating. During my evaluation, Stephen repeated questions multiple times like he was on auto-pilot and completed checked out of the visit. When I tried to add additional information about my health (I am often stuck in a seated position for extended periods of time at work), he raised one finger and told me to stop and told me "I'm the doctor, not you." Long story short, Stephen gave me an incorrect diagnosis that another neurosurgeon immediately corrected. The other neurosurgeon said that he had no clue how Stephen Saris made the initial diagnosis. Saris is a total waste of time, rude to patients, and doesn't know what he is doing. I saw Stephen Saris because of my insurance. He operated on my wife, what he said he did and he did were 2 different things, not a good result. He also said when she woke up from the surgery the pain would be relieved. What a joke that was. Pain never went away. When my wife went in for a consultation about surgery for the first time she didn't know that she was meeting with the P A. nobody in the office said anything. She thought she was meeting with the doctor. They set surgery up for her. When she was being prepared for surgery in the hospital this unknown face that my wife didn't know and introduced himself as Dr Saris. He said he will doing the surgery and to sign the consent. What a joke that was. Pain never went away. When my wife went … More
Fixed me right up! Feeling so much better!! Very happy!!
This doctor makes up his mind from a handful (not complete) list of medical records before meeting the patient. He barely lets the patient or family speak, stating he already knows and understands. This typically results in dangerously incorrect outcomes which could ultimately lead to death. He also discriminates and is judgemental. He may have been good in his younger days, but he is now too arrogant and pompous to correctly diagnose or treat.
Had a very good experience with him and his staff, the wait time wasn’t long. 5/5 would recommend to anyone who is looking for a doctor!
Dr Saris is a perfect example of a extraordinary medical professional. He is very knowledgeable about many areas of the field and provides meaningful advice. I strongly suggest anyone who seeks medical help, reach out to Dr. Saris.

Saris is very dismissive like many top rated docs . He has no special talent over others . These doctors cherry pick operations and makes for nice record . God complex like other flaky docs . Healthcare system is a joke .
