Accepts new patients, however it was a 2 hour wait. First rule: if you can’t see new patients in a timely manner- do not accept new patients. Surgery needed for a pelvic mass >20cm, normal blood work at the time so the chances of cancer being present were very low. When concern about increased pain and possibility the mass was growing was expressed, Dr. Salmieri stated “I don’t put one patient above another,” that “it was a business,” and “I wouldn’t wait more than 4 weeks to have it removed.” Five days later, his scheduler contacted me for a surgery date 6 weeks out. When told that Dr. Salemeri said not to wait more than 4 weeks, the schedulers response was “that’s his first available.” Needless to say, after another trip to the ER the following week, I went with another doctor and had surgery within a week. The mass had grown and cancer was detected. Dr. Salmieri may be considered a “great” surgeon by some, but I would never recommend a patient to him or his “business.”
Dr Sarmieri is my Dr since 2021,i had surgery with him, such a caring and loving Doctor with his patients! I have no complaints,he took a lot of stress off of me before my surgery and made me feel like family. 5 ???? Dr,god bless him.

If I could give more stars, I would. I had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Salmieri yesterday - it was for a third surgical opinion, and I pretty much expected it to be quick and just a bit informing. Wow - was I surprised to find such a wonderful physician, full of experience and knowledge. I was at his office for several hours (he has a wonderful staff), and he spent at least a full hour with me himself. He used common sense and many years of experience to truly accurately diagnose me. Salmieri explained why he would do certain tests and why others might be risky. He was very detailed, bright, and to the point. Yes, he has a very unique personality, but all very smart people do. I was thrilled with this physician and feel I was lucky to have a person with this kind of experience evaluate me.
Dr Salmieri and the other providers in the office are kind, competent, and knowledgeable. You may go elsewhere where you don't have to wait as long for your appointment, but there's a reason this particular doctor is in such high demand. Dr. Salmieri is a person with a life - sometimes a person has to reschedule! Yes, we're all nervous and afraid because of cancer, but I'd rather wait form a warm kind and thorough conversation with a great doctor with great skill, than be seen right away by one with a big cold condescending ego and comparable skill (... and yes I have experienced both - Salmieri wins!) Doctor Salmieri is awesome!! But—the follow up with the office staff is horrendous. Be prepared for that and honestly; being in the super capable hands of this surgeon is worth the follow-up annoyance of his office staff.
If I could leave negative stars I would. First few visits were great…went downhill after surgery. Long waits, canceled appointments, rude front staff, and unanswered messages. Was supposed to go for 3 month follow up for cancer today they canceled my appointment. Said the earliest I’d be rescheduled would be December but that it might be later. I asked for my blood work results was given a paper with numbers on it. I said I didn’t know what this all means…. She said it’s normal or someone would have talked to you about it. I didn’t go thru 2 surgeries and 3 months of chemo to now be treated like an inconvenience. I wouldn’t recommend this office to anyone else! If I could leave negative stars I would. My wife had the misfortune of being diagnosed with Uterine Cancer, but her luck changed when she was lucky to be seen and treated by Dr. Salmieri. His explanations and the care provided are nothing short of top notch. Dr. Salmieri is great, however he needs a good office manager. I've been seeing them for 3 years and I always have to wait but today took it to another level. People waiting in his office for hours. They told me my wait today to see the PA would be over 2 hours, no thank you! If they had a good scheduler and a good office manager this could be avoided. They are over scheduling, other doctors offices manage to accomplish this! On occasion I understand things happen and you get behind or have an emergency but this seems to be the norm for his staff. Not acceptable care for these patients that are sitting for hours in a waiting room. Dr. Salmieri is great, however he needs a good office manager. His office staff.... i.e. the people that call in prescriptions, etc. are the least efficient people I've ever worked with. People are out of the office for extended periods with no backup. He is a good Dr., but his office staff is the worst ever!!!
The wait to see the most sought after add Salmieri was long, albeit, it was definitely worth the while. Dr Salmieri attended to me like I was family and every question of concern asked was answered in a detailed fashion of clarity: He definitely knows his onions and I felt relieved and relaxed knowing I was in safe hands.
This dr has too many to care for. My daughter is a patient of his. We waited 5hours and 15mins yesterday to see him and he left before seeing my daughter. She has stage 2 cervical cancer. The last 2 appts she has had with him he had had emergency and left. There was 2 other patients that had been waiting for 6hours and they finally left needless to say we are in search for another dr. I am only giving this place a 2 Because the doctor is a great surgeon with a wonderful caring personality. On the business side, I wish somebody would advise him that his front office Staff needs to be more professional and how they answer the phone and how they respond to the patients. When you come to this office, they have an intercom with a bell and a doorbell on the door. None of these work apparently. Instead of covering them up, removing them, or replacing them, they decide to leave them there and expect you to read their long noticed with a very small letters on their door. I have went to this appointment and stood outside for more than 15 minutes each time. Their manager Tammy has a message on her voicemail telling you not to leave a voicemail and to Have the front staff email her. That shows you how uninvolved and non-customer service friendly she is. They don’t seem to understand how to run a business. I go to several doctors offices And every office screens you with Covid questions over the phone before your appointment. All of us know the questions By heart. Dr Salameiri charges enough money for the surgeries he does And can afford to fix the doorbell. Don’t antagonize people when you finally come to the door. Admit you’re short coming and apologize for having them wait outside for over 10 minutes. Remember that these patients have had surgery, are in pain, may have cancer, and are also going through menopause by having their ovaries removed. Nobody in their right mind comes to a doctor to stand outside in the elements for over 10 minutes and then have someone come to the door with attitude because you are except for standing outside. Instead of apologizing and diffusing the situation, they want to be argumentative With the patients. This isn’t my first rodeo. I know how doctors offices are being careful but there’s an extreme that you guys have taken. Ask your Covid questions before the visit. Fix your doorbell’s, and have patients be able to come inside and have their temperatures checked like everywhere else does. Don’t come at people that are paying your paychecks with this attitude! All you’re doing is hurting his business and hurting his reputation. He’s a great surgeon and I will tell everybody that but I would let them know that his staff Is not complementary of who he is. Very sad. You should be open to suggestions and change how you do things. Labs physical therapy doctors offices and clinics do not keep a door locked that prevent you from signing in at the front desk. If it were raining, would you expect someone to stand outside like that for 10 minutes and have a smile on their face? Absolutely not! My appointment was at 10:00 this morning, I am still here in the waiting room right now at 11:57. I am here for post-op and if I didn’t have a ton of questions about my surgery I would have walked out by now. Love Dr. Salmeri but this management should be replaced immediately.
There are not enough words of praise I can give this office for their kind hearted care.
First visit with my mom. Dr. Salmieri was very personable, and took a great deal of time with my mom to explain her condition and set her mind at ease about options and recommendations. I would highly recommend him!
This review is for Dr. Salmieri himself. I have been seeing this Sr. for over 6 years now. Dr. Salmieri is one fine quality man and a fine quality Dr. He is loving, caring and compassionate. He will do whatever is humanly possible to help his patients. I am so very thankful to have been sent to him for care in a most delicate of physical issues. This review is for Dr. Salmieri himself. Amazing work and a VERY caring doctor! You MAY wait hours for your in-office appointment (bring snacks and something to do/read) but TOTALLY worth the time. I had the best experience before, during and after my surgery. My gyn doc was very impressed with his work by how I’ve healed from surgery.
I am not a patient of Dr. Salmieri but my daughter recently had surgery performed by the doctor. I feeI need to express how professional, caring and above all a God sent individual when it comes to how he cares for his patients. I met Dr. Salmieri just before my daughter was taken in for her procedure and his kind words and reassurance that everything was in good hands made me feel so confident in his abilities. He mentioned to both of us that he was going to handle her with the same care that he would for his wife, daughter, sister, mother and any other family member. I was so relieved because I felt if he used this thought process when handling his patients he was genuine and she was in good hands. He also told us he said his prayers before taking her in and he asked God to guide him through this process. I don’t know his religious preference but I am a woman of faith and again I felt my daughter was in good hands. After surgery he came out to meet with me to share that she was doing well and was going to be alright. He also explained to me in medical and non-medical terms the procedures he performed during surgery and what we could expect going forward. This is an amazing doctor and I would recommend him to anyone including myself. I am not a patient of Dr. Salmieri but my daughter recently had surgery performed by the doctor. Today was my initial new patient consultation and I can’t say enough GREAT things about this practice! They were timely and very proficient! From check in to check out and scheduling surgery was very fluid. My MA was Quiera and she was fantastic! Dr. Salmieri was very thorough and patient as he explained everything and answered all my questions. He even encouraged me to FaceTime my husband so he would know what was discussed (due to Covid only the patient is allowed in the office). Tara scheduled my upcoming procedures and she also explained everything and wrote notes for me to remember. My heroes! I say heroes because Dr. Salmieri and his amazing team are helping me through the most stressful time of my life! It is evident that Dr. Salmieri loves his patients with enthusiasm and backs it up with expert skill and experience. And every single staff member and nurse that I've met treat their patients with the same love, patience and expertise. My surgery was a great success and I was sent off with excellent information for my post op recovery - but I still had some questions. Every time I needed to speak with someone, I was able to the same day and often right when I called. Dr. Salmieri is the absolute best. He was able to save my ovaries and do robotic surgery (which is minimally invasive) while numerous other doctors felt this was not achievable. Not only is he extremely skilled and knowledgeable but he is so compassionate and friendly that it truly makes you more confident and positive about whatever procedure you’re about to undergo. I also had a great experience with him spending over 1 hour at the initial consult with me - again, something no other doctor has ever done. His staff was helpful, punctual, and kind throughout. Highly suggest for even those that may have a benign condition but are looking for a much more experienced OBGYN that is trained to handle complex cases.
Awful. 2 hours wait. Scheduled two MRI’s. Almost 2 weeks to get results from first test after many, many calls. It has been over two weeks and still can’t get a call back. I don’t know if I have cancer or not. No one takes calls. You can only leave messages which NO ONE returns. The most unprofessional medical office ever.
Has a very calming approach which causes one to relax. Very knowledgeable and exuded confidence in explaining the different type of cancers that I may have inherent from my parents. Recommended gene counseling. Dr. Salmeiri used a diagram to point out what the plan of action was for my condition. After the consultation, I was confident With my decision to proceed with the surgery.
Drove an hour to get here. Got here at 2:15. Appointment is at 2:30. It is now 4:10. Still have not been seen. I'm guessing they have know idea how an APPOINTMENT works. Smh
Dr Salmieri is a really nice person
I'm glad I decided to go see him. He was very thorough, Understanding, I feel like he really heard what I was saying. I have educated myself thoroughly about ovarian cancer. He answered my questions where I felt comfortable when I left. His assistant is very good. She called me with the results and explained everything I didn't understand in a very timely manner. It is a very busy Clinic and it's sad to see so many people that have cancer or there to find out if they have cancer it really breaks my heart. It was by God's grace I survived ovarian cancer as late as it was caught. Receptionist was kind and efficient. I was referred by my doctor to him. I was very impressed with how kind and helpful the staff was! I felt they went out of their way to schedule me for surgery quickly! The scheduler for surgery, was very detailed on what to expect and what I needed to do. Dr. Salmieri is the kindest and most sincere OBGYN! I was impressed he went out of his way to meet me before the exam, and that there was a pillow for my back on the exam table. I feel most doctors are all about getting the patient in and out of the office. Dr. Salmieri & his staff made me feel as though I was the only patient. They all made sure I was comfortable and understood what the surgery would entail. The morning of surgery, while waiting for surgery prep, Dr. Salmieri came by and was very reassuring about the surgery to come. I was in a lot of pain prior to my surgery, and I can report a week after, I feel great! I cannot emphasize enough on the wonderful care and compassion I had from Dr. Salmieri & his staff!
Excellent doctor to patient and family members. Attends to you with care and compassion. While there were problems with scheduling on my mosr recent visit many of those seem to have been addressed . I hope that continues!
Dr Salmieri is a caring, compassionate person. He always gives you his best and that’s far above anyone else. He’s also a brilliant doctor.
Dr Salmieri was so understanding, professional and kind. I highly recommend him.
I left a review last on June 28th, 2019 and before that on March 2, 2019 see below. It happened again. On Friday, I received a call from Dr. Salmieri staff letting me know he has surgery and will not be in to see me coming Monday for my original 3 month appointment which by now will be a 4 and 1/2 month appointment after cancelling twice.. This confirms what I said on March 2. Dr Salmieri is an EXCELLENT DOCTOR but How is it possible that he wants to check me every 3 months though when making the appointment I can not be scheduled but 5 months later ? or like this time 4 1/2 moths later with the possibility of being cancelled again either because of surgery or like last time 2 weeks vacation. I am not contact but the day before because staff does not have time to call before and as manager said not enough doctors and blames it on Northside. So I decided to make an appointment with another back up doctor in case if cancellation happens again.
Dr Salmieri it great. However a Dr can only be as good as his practice. His office is horrible, the staff is horrible, they do not answer the phones, it is almost impossible to get test results. They constantly change your appointments. When you do actually get to have an appointment plan on sitting there for 3-4 hours and do not plan on seeing him you get the nurse. It is a shame as he is great but I am done. I am Seeking a new Dr
While the doctor was very nice and came highly recommended, the office staff definitely needs training. It took me 2 days to get someone to answer the phone to make an appointment. On the day of the appointment, I was trapped on the interstate and was trying to reach them to tell them I was running late. I called back-to-back for 2.5 hours and when they finally answered they forgot to turn the phone back on after lunch. I had some tests run on early Tuesday morning. By Thursday afternoon, I still had not heard anything back from them. On Thursday morning I started calling at 9am (constant busy from 9am - 2pm), so I drove about 40 miles to their office to get my results. They said their phone was out and they still refused to give me my test results. I went to the hospital where the tests were performed and they gave me the results immediately. There is nothing worse than to think you might have cancer, wait on results and after 2 days a total northing. Worst experience with a medical “professional” ever. The staff is rude and insensitive. They do not return phone calls or answer questions. My mother’s surgery required home health care to deal with the drainage and wound care but the doctor did not order it or even inform us it would be needed, the hospital staff told us at discharge. It took 3 days to get the doctor’s staff to respond with an order, which is required for a visiting nurse. In the meantime my mother developed an infection w
This office is TERRIBLE. They have rescheduled MULTIPLE appointments for my mother and I called 3 days ahead of time to let them know she couldn't make it to her appointment (due to being in the hospital) and they called on the day of the appointment and said I never called them and she was counted as a no-show. They never return messages either. It is truly sad how poorly this office is ran. The wait time is horrendous. I hope Dr. Salmieri realizes it and makes changes ASAP.
This has been our first experience with cervical cancer, I was extremely scared for my wife going in. Dr. Salmieri, was excellent, was very confident and very detailed in explaining the plan and put us at ease. We know we have found the best. The staff has been wonderful, especially Kelly his P.A. Thank you

The doctor was GREAT - however you can NEVER get the office to answer the phone. It either rings busy or goes to the answering service and they do not take messages.
Let me start by saying I’m not a person that leaves reviews, this is literally the 2nd review I’ve EVER given but I felt so passionate about my experience with Dr. Salmieri that I wanted to post this! Hands down the best doctor & surgeon I’ve EVER had, and beyond personable! I jut left my post-op appointment with him and instead of a handshake we gave hugs, he ended up feeling like a family member vs a doctor that saw me as “just another patient” I DEFINITELY recommend Dr. Salmieri!!!
Dr. Salmieri is the best doctor I've ever had. He has recently performed a very successful surgery on me. Prior to seeing him, I had seen 5 other doctors who either didn't know what to do with me or gave me very drastic options. If you need someone truly knowledgeable with a great heart, you have to see Dr. Salmieri. He will definitely help you and do what is best for you. His expertise, genuine care, kindness and positive attitude are impressive. Fantastic doctor! Loved him.
Quite simply, Dr. Salmieri saved my life. I will sing his praises from the rooftops for the rest of my life. When I went in for bloodwork before my surgery 4 years ago, one of the nurses at Northside Forsyth looked at my chart and said - "oh, you have Salmieri - he is the best of the best." Her words rang true. I am alive and free of cancer. Yes, appt times can have a long wait - but I schedule for first thing in the morning and usually get taken back in just a few minutes.
Dr. Salmieri is without a doubt the best doctor I've ever had! I am so blessed I've found him. He has recently performed a very successful surgery on me. Prior to seeing him, I had seen 5 other doctors who either didn't know what to do with me or gave me very drastic options and prognoses. If you need someone truly knowledgeable with a great heart, you have to see him. He will definitely do what is right for you. His expertise and genuine care are impressive! Excellent doctor! Loved him.
Love Dr. Salmieri. Great bedside manner and very informative. Takes the time to explain to me what's going with my body and the surgery. My surgery went smoothly and I healed quickly. The wait time in his office to see him takes forever. The shortest amount of time I've ever waited was an hour. The longest I've waited was 4 hours. I know this ahead of time now, so I just clear my day. It's annoying, but I don't mind it as long as I get great care when seen--which I do.
He is a great physician, he is very informative and over all very nice. BUT the wait time is ridiculous. Everytime I go there, it's over 2 hour wait and one time I had to wait 4.5 hours. They do not value the patients time at all.
My initial impression of Dr. Salmieri and his staff was one of confidence. Prior to my surgery, I felt compassion and concern. Unfortunately, I no longer feel or see the same amount of care. During my office visits, I rarely, if ever see Dr. Salmieri, and my questions go unaddressed. I am also to be seen ever three months. However, the period between appointments widens. Sadly, looking for a new oncologist!
He is an excellent doctor. His confidence is comforting! I was blessed to find him unfortunately in an emergency situation but I promise he saved my life! He is the best so expect to make friends in the waiting room. After all he wouldn't be the "best" with an empty waiting room. His staff is wonderful as well. They are all a pleasure! It's my fate that I need his services once again and I'm actually very excited to see them all again. He even remembered my from 2 years ago. Impressive! !
Salmieri performed a robotics surgery instead of a full cut on my wife. Family history of grand mother and mother having ovarian cancer. Two large tumors had already been identified with both pelvic and internal sonogram. This guy graduated from a school that is rate right at the bottom of the med schools. Average GPA is 2.5. Fe was KP's best. What a joke. My wife would have to wait over an hour past her appointment time. He developed a nasty Napoleon complex if you question him.
Sweet, kind and caring! He answers all your questions and gives you all the time you need from him. It may throw his schedule behind for the day, but remember, you will get the time you need with him! Be patient. Dr. Salmieri is the best in his field. My hyster was 2 yrs ago and I did very well after the surgery. I see him every 3-4 months. I enjoy his staff and find them helpful and courteous. I highly recommend him if you should find yourself with uterine cancer.
Dr. Salmieri is an excellent doctor. I have been very pleased with the care I have received from him and his staff. He actually thanked me for letting him take care of me. I have never had a doctor do that before. My robotic assisted hysterectomy has been life changing and it is due to the skill that Dr. Salmieri has in this field. I should warn you - you will wait to see him. He takes as much time with his patients as they need. Just know when it is your turn he will do the same.
Dr. Salmieri himself couldn't be better. I trust him explicitly. His staff however is largely in charge of your after care and the impression I've gotten is that they couldn't care less. It's very difficult to get return phone calls. They've let me run out of medication. I'm in pain and told them multiple times and they've done nothing about it. I'm honestly at a loss as to what I should do. I don't want to switch doctors but I feel like I'm being backed into a corner.
I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Salmieri. He has done two surgeries for me over the past four years. He is direct, thoughtful, and you can truly tell he cares about his patients and what he does. I have never had such a great experience with a doctor, and I am very happy with how everything has gone.
He did such a great job with my bartholin gland removal. I've recommended him to a friend with the same issue.
