Stephen Francis Penny

Dr. Penny is an awesome doctor with excellent bedside manners. Hes been treating me since February 2020. My appointments are never rushed and he listens and answers the many questions I ask. He always make me feel welcome.

Dr. Penny is a wonderful doctor, he listens to everything that you say and doesn't make you feel like you don't know what you are talking about, he actually cares about what is going on with you, I really appreciate him.

I went to Dr Penny for a second opinion in July 2021. A very negative Dr He would ask a question and would interrupt you before you completed your answer. I guess he thought that I was and uneducated black woman. The worst physician I have ever visited in my life. I had better doctors while on active duty.

I hope this man retires soon so no one else has to go through what I went through after being sent to him. I was diagnosed with a rare disease and Mr. Penny expected me to do all of the research about it myself, choose which medication I wanted, and then told me if my insurance denied the medication there was “nothing he could do, no appeal to file, and that medication costs $88,000 so if your insurance denies it what are you going to do, pay for it?” Who speaks to their patients that way? Who treats their patients that way? What’s the point of even seeing a doctor if I’m going to have to do everything by myself? I’ve joined an online group of many other people with my condition, and all of their neurologists have made appeals to their insurance on their behalf. One woman I spoke to had her neurologist make an appeal 6 times before her insurance finally gave her the medication. So why did he say he couldn’t make an appeal for me? Couldn’t or wouldn’t because he’s lazy and doesn’t want to do any actual work? Anyways, my insurance approved the medication I wanted right away without any problems, so why did he even bother to give me that load of BS? From my research I’ve learned that stress is very bad for my disease and he stressed me out, a lot, for absolutely no reason. After having just one appointment with him, I went home, found the only specialist for my disease in this state, and by the grace of god he had a cancellation so I made an appointment with him right away. My new doctor is 50 minutes away but I’m more than happy to drive all that way and back because he treats me with respect and has bent over backwards to help me manage my condition. He also suggested a different medication for me which I wasn’t even considering, but since he’s a specialist I trust him and decided to go with that medication instead. And my insurance approved that medication right away also. Mr. Penny needs to re-read and recite the oath he took at the beginning of his career. Or he should just screw off to Palm Springs indefinitely so no one has to suffer because of his laziness and arrogant attitude. Just had a emg test done wasn't has bad as i thought it was going to be. Dr Penny explained everything to me that was going to happen I would definitely recommend him.

I was more than pleased! After being frustrated for years, I think I've finally found someone who looked at the whole medical history. He ordered specific tests that no other specialists considered. Dr. Penny does my botox for migraines and each time is enjoyable. The injections do not hurt and I am encouraged that if they do I can take a break from the 32 injections that take about 10 minutes to do. I was seen in the past by another dr in the same office whom I am not a fan of but will not mention and Penny is the only one who seemed to give a damn. I visited with Dr. Penny for the first time. The experience was great. He patiently answered all of the questions that my wife and I had. Absolutely no rush. Doctors like this are rare in South Delaware. We drove from Lewes to his office in Dover. We would do it again even if his office was in Philadelphia.

Dr Penney has been so good to me and my family. He always goes over symptoms etc. even though we may be there for the same problem. He doesn’t take for granted anything and truly cares about his patients health. He offers many treatment option and doesn’t force anything upon you. He feels like family and someone we can trust to have our best interest at hand. His staff is so nice and supportive. They always have a smile and make you feel like someone we’ve known forever. disappointing, he really could care less about getting me better, jumps up and just leaves the room when your 5 minutes with him are up, right in the middle of speaking with him. I am more than another payment on your Mercedes, I'm someone in pain, with conditions that keep coming back only now with more frequency and intensity. Dr. Penny's nurse, Lisa, is very helpful and professional. Dr. Penny is a quiet, laid back doctor who talks to you and listens to what you have to say. He asks questions about what you have said. He offers options for treatment. I would recommend this doctor and nurse to anyone.

Awesome facility, staffed by very professional individuals ! From when I enter I am comfortable, well lit and clean grounds and buildings/offices. I find the website myhealthrecord portal very helpful, easy to use. Ask about signing up. I've never had an issue with billing. Lisa is a godsend ! Dr Penny is the best. After meeting with Dr. Penny and everyone saying he was so great, I was very disgusted. To have a Dr. speak down to me laugh at me and his treatment of me was very unprofessional. I had seen other Drs and wanted to have a neurologist closer to home. The diagnosis from the the Drs was all the same RSD. Come to find out there is a specialist in his office that treats the disorder. He should have referred me to him instead of trying to treat me for a condition he does not understand.

I have had Dr. Penny, For 19 years or maybe a little bit over that he's a brilliant brilliant neurologist! So very very kind, and his head nurse Lisa B. I have known her since 1995 and she is the kindest sweetest most caring person and nurse you'll ever meet Thank you Rose Collins
