The worst, very arrogant. They don't prescribe anything besides the pain. We will report to medical board on Cleveland Clinic.

If I could give this physician negative stars I would. The worst attitude and unprofessional bedside manner I have ever experienced. Luckily we found this out before working with this physician. Find yourself a better doctor who actually cares about their patients.

If you do not what to end up DEAD!!! Avoid this Dr. my husband was a patient of Dr Patterson he is the worst dr we have ever seen. Never explained what was going on and always avoiding our questions. The last time was saw him he was unprofessional and told my husband (while laying in the hospital bed) that he did not have time for him and that he had over one hundred patients that he was not the only one. My husband passed away and I blame Dr Patterson for not being the Dr who stops and listen to his patients. He’s there for the money. If you do not what to end up DEAD!!! I was given the run around from our local medical providers and could not get an appointment. I emailed Cleveland Clinic on a Saturday and got a reply by 8:15 on Monday morning. Called and got an appointment with Dr. Patterson the next day. So glad I did. He and his staff have taken wonderful care of me. I have had every question answered and never felt like I was rushed. He may not give everyone the warm fuzzies but he is an excellent oncologist and I trust him with my care. The nurses said he is a perfectionist and when it comes to oncology that’s exactly what you need. I was given the run around from our local medical providers and could not get an appointment. If you want your relative to be treated with compassion and courtesy please please do not see this doctor. He couldn't change the outcome of the diagnosis but he could made it less painful to accept. He needs to be checked to see if he has a pulse. This Doctor is cold hearted. He walks in like a robot and out with not even a smile on his face. Maybe seeing so many death and cancer patient turn someone indifferent to someone's tragedy but this is as dangerous as a malpractice. Someone that does not show compassion and care for a patient go against the very oath that makes them become a Doctor. I don't know how Cleveland Clinics stand behind this Doctor. He maybe knowledge and good but he is missing the very core of what medical care stands for...i m so sorry i had the misfortune to cross path with Dr Patterson. Dr. Patterson is by far the worst doctor I have ever experienced in my life. He's arrogant, rude & has zero compassion or patience. I question his competency. He decided I needed chemo to diminish a lump after repeatedly admitting that he didn't know what it was. My new oncologist vehemently disagreed with Dr. Patterson's assessment. During my last visit with him, Dr. Patterson was very angry, bordering on hostility. He made several inappropriate & unprofessional comments that left me uncomfortable & frustrated. Switching oncologists was one of the best decisions I've ever made. Avoid Dr. Patterson like your life depends on it. It very well may. Without a doubt the worst doctor I have ever experienced in my 61 years of living! Zero compassion. Zero empathy. Zero interest in the patient. He provides the absolute bare minimum care he can get away with. Trying to get helpful information out of him about my cancer was like pulling teeth at each & every visit. He actually got angry when I dared to ask him questions about things I didn't understand. He is a "Doctor" who apparently does not like fellow human beings. I gave him the benefit of the doubt for over a year. I sensed from him that I was just a bother & inconvenience to his day. If you want a doctor who could care less about you & your struggle with cancer, then he's your man.

Have been seeing him since September 2019 for my breast cancer. Very thorough and knowledgeable. The care I am receiving from Dr. Patterson and Cleveland Clinic’s ScullyWelsh Cancer Center is wonderful. I live over an hour away but gladly make the drive for my treatments.

I had a referral from my doctor to see a different doctor who didn't have any openings for 3 months so Janet made an appointment with Dr. Patterson. I was sent for blood work irregularities and a lump. Upon meeting him he looked at me and told me that he didn't know why my doctor would send me and that I didn't need a hematologist. Low complement 4 for 2 years but his words were "It's not that low". In addition to high levels in other areas. He wrote a script for an MRI and CT and a follow up appointment was made. That appointment was cancelled by the office and rescheduled with the Nurse Practitioner which I did not know about until I called to confirm. I wasn't important enough to see a doctor. There are better doctors out there. He needs some training in courtesy and compassion for all patients. Obviously there was a reason I got in so quickly. I met Dr Patterson in March 2019., I was admitted in the hospital not really knowing what was wrong with me. I was told that they found some liquid between my left lung and chest cavity. The next day Dr. Patterson walks into my room smiling and he introduces himself. “Hello, my name is Dr. Patterson. Your oncologist”. I just looked at him, my whole body went numb. I said “You have the wrong room I don’t want to speak with you.,” he had his hand out soI can shake his hand. I couldn’t touch him, it’s not that I didn’t it was that I couldn’t my whole body went limp. He just kept speaking to me. I couldn’t hear a word. Now 5 months later. And I can say he is the best thing that happened to me. When I visited Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, the specialist told me that how Dr. Patterson is treating you (me) is how she would treat me. So in a nut shell DOCTOR thank you for taking me as a Patient and waiting till I was able to shake your hand. I have been dealing with cancer for over 20 years and have been to Mayo (Jacksonville and Rochester) along with several lesser known facilities and came to the care of Dr Patterson after treatments at Mayo. Dr Patterson listened to what my story was and was very receptive to working with my doctor from Mayo and working with me. Dr Patterson has always respected my wishes and respected my opinion, along with explaining his ideas for my treatments and explaining what is happening. I hope that he will not have to change his care practices, which I believe to be very good, with the new management from Cleveland Clinic. I know that certain things always change with new management but Dr Patterson has a good balance of time and care and I hope he will be allowed to continue his excellent service to his patients. Dr Patterson failed to dx a patient under his care with stage 4 cancer. He ignored his patient who complained for months that his pain had significantly worsened. I travelled from out of state to support my dear friend who could not speak and whose symptoms were not being addressed or investigated. Dr Patterson was quite arrogant to his patient and very condescending to me, a concerned friend. Dr Patterson and his team insisted the cancer was eradicated and that pain medication was no longer needed. Unable to swallow or endure the intractable pain any longer, my friend travelled to Moffitt Cancer Center. There he has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer of the throat and neck. Dr Patterson suffers from a god complex and has no empathy. He failed to recognize that his patient’s symptoms were real. He failed to recognize that his patient’s cancer was full blown. This is unacceptable and he should be held accountable.
