Dr. Stephen Richard Kees

This was one of the worse experiences my child and i have had ever. I had the worst experience yesterday at this dental office. First as soon as we walked in we were not greeted and when we were spoken to We were talked down to. My son needed x rays ( i was not allowed in the room) and the woman that was taking him back was very disrespectful in telling me i was not aloud. She literally screamed “ you can’t go with him” My son was then uncomfortable and told me he was scared to go with her. She tried forcing him to say he trusted her. I asked if I could stand by the door or in the hall way and was told agin no. She then asked my child and I if he had A DISABILITY!!! ( He does not) but to ask a child that is inappropriate. I then proceeded to just reschedule the appointment and walk out and was told to not worry about rescheduling and that she would be calling “the place “ where I came from. We experienced discrimination at this office and i have yet to hear back from them regarding our experience.

I was referred to Dr. Kees through my family dentist for my daughter. After I made the appointment I was told 3 times that I had to be the one to bring her to the initial appointment, which I don’t understand because her father has just as much right to seek any kind of medical service she needs. We were told that only 1 parent could be in there, that the other had to wait in the car. I had made a remark that the place was weird. It was, the staff wasn’t welcoming at all, very stand offish, for a pediatric dentist the office was very gloomy, put dates and super small. The nurse confronted me on my observation of the place being weird and I explained to her my observations. She proceeded to tell me I could go back to my original dentist, or even Children’s. Obviously I ruffled her feathers. She became very defensive and was very rude! All because of my observations! I didn’t raise my voice, curse or anything. I actually just stood my ground, and she didn’t like that. I received a voicemail saying I should go elsewhere because of the disrespect I showed, which was none! Horrendous practice, please do not bring your child here. This doctor stated “If you are not brushing your child’s teeth until his gums bleed, then you aren’t brushing hard enough.” He’s a toddler. This practice was incredibly focused on what reimbursement they would receive from our insurance rather than focusing on safety and wellbeing of my child. We were met by a very rude and scattered woman at the front desk. Instead of recognizing what is appropriate for my child’s developmental stage, they attempted to force him to do x-rays while he started crying. Then had the audacity to attempt to tell us we were being “too gentle and sometimes you have to force them”. Great way to introduce medical trauma. Additionally, I posted on Facebook to see if anyone had experience with this practice. Several people in their 30’s responded saying that this doctor scared them as a child and they have been terrified of the dentist ever since. Three of them said that he put silver caps on almost all their teeth then were told by other dentists that was not necessary. This is almost exactly what they wanted to do to my child until I thankfully got a second opinion. Horrendous practice, please do not bring your child here. Dr Kees is knowledgeable and attentive. The staff is helpful and kind. I recommend him highly!

If I could give this place less than 1 star, I most definitely would! The office manager is very rude and disrespectful! Not only did she get rude, loud and disrespectful with my family in the office, she also called my phone not once but TWICE, and left nasty messages! I would not recommend this office to anyone! I would rather all the teeth in my mouth fall out before I set foot in this place again! Very rude man. Said no one ever died from having crooked teeth. Shamed what I thought was decent dental hygiene. Left office feeling small and embarrassed. I have never had a worse experience, unfortunately one I won't forget. I truly believe that if you are a state medical card holder, you will be treated like a person not deserving of decent treatment or care. Very rude man. Never been treated in such a rude manner, my son has been a patient there for a number of years. I scheduled an appointment for his Spring Break and took off work so I could take him. This appointment was scheduled weeks in advance. They called to confirm the appointment this morning and then at 3pm called to cancel it over a no call no show fee that was charged to his account over a year ago, that I never knew about or was sent a bill for. The basically tracked it he was late 5 minutes for an appointment two years ago and refused to see him and canceled his appointment. When I asked for the records and said I guess I will find a new dentist the lady on the phone hung up on me! How rude if I had a bill why didn't you send me one? Why didn't tell me when I scheduled the appointment? Why didn't you call me totally unprofessional. Now my son who has waited for this appointment will have to miss school, now I took off work to take care of him. They don't care about patients all they care about is $$. Have been coming here for over 15 years. Always a pleasant experience for my kids.

This is an excellent children's dentist! Very patient and good focus on patient education!

Dr. Kees is wonderful! He is very fast and explains everything. My daughter was very nervous and he eased her mind. The staff are all very kind and caring. I'd recommend him to anyone with children.

Best dentist ever! He used to see my brothers and myself and now he is seeing my kids and nephews! Absolute great experience and great staff! Definitely would recommend for anyone with little ones!

To begin with he didn't even look at my grand daughter in the office he told me to get the insurance to cover it we have a couple things we have to do so he prescribed her at 7 years old a valumn. Me thinking he was gonna try working on her I give her the valumn. So she goes in the back and right back out he did not even try then the surgery I went to recovery and was appalled she had dried blood all over her face her lip was ripped and we're they put a hose in her nose she had bled pretty bad I know a nurse that cares don't have the results that my poor grand daughter had then I'm still taking her to the dentist she was in pain until I took her to someone else. Oh when he came out of surgery before I seen her he was really rude did not want to hear me talk at all of course I had questions but he refused answering them. The girl in the office is a very corny unprofessional mess my advice take your kid somewhere else he is horrible . My girls love him. He eases the stresses of a dental visit.

Its not your normal dentist office...its set up to make the kids feel comfortable at the dentist.. And Dr. Kees is very nice and talks to you one on one about your child

Dr. KEES is wonderful with individuals with disabilities as well as children. The people I took to him loved him.

I love Dr. Kee's very direct and knowledgeable. My 6y.o loves going to him! Would recommend to anyone. Staff is very polite and quick.
