A huge “Thank you” to Dr. Heim! In November of 2019 Dr. Heim preformed back surgery- 4 disc fusions. It was a big surgery, and had BIG results. I suffered for over 10 years and tried everything: Physical therapy, cortisone injections, Chiropractic therapy, and medications. I was in a downward spiral and the pain had become intolerable. I was 67 and the pain was ruling my life. I decided I had to do something. I am so happy I did my research and found Dr. Heim. He is a knowledgeable and compassionate Surgeon, with credentials to impress. I was well informed every step of the way, and every question I had was answered with professionalism and respect. It’s been over 2 years now, and I feel great!

Dr. Heim is wonderful as is his staff. He is extremely professional and really listens to you. I went in to his office with extreme pain and stingers down both arms. Dr. Heim listened to me, ordered an MRI and scheduled emergency surgery for a severe herniated disc effecting my spinal cord. He took the time to care about me and my health. His nurse Alaine called to check in on me while I waited a few days for surgery. This Dr and office is one of a kind. Dr. Heim is wonderful as is his staff. Three years ago Dr. Haim did a lame duck to me on me and four and five got an infection spent 6 to 8 weeks between the Hospital in Marianjoy Dr. Haim told me that the infection messed up the surgery so he did it again still having pain going down my legs Dr. Haim said I didn’t which I did had a pain management doctor do another MRI told me that didn’t look like nothing was done so I went to rush Copley had a doctor named Dr. Deutsch which city do another lame duck to me but didn’t know for sure if it would work the long term alternative was to have fusion rod and fusion done which he was right it didn’t last it lasted about a year now I had another surgeon from Northwest downtown Dr. Amos Patel Did Rod infusion no more pain all is going well now but I would highly not recommend Dr. Haim Three years ago Dr. Haim did a lame duck to me on me and four and five got an infection spent 6 to 8 weeks between the Hospital in Marianjoy Dr. Haim told me that the infection messed up the surgery so he did it again still having pain … More

I went to several surgeons before I choose Dr Steven Heim. I knew that I needed a spinal fusion and many other repairs due to severe arthritis and spinal stenosis. For years I was putting it off and tried many steroid injections, ablation etc.. they all offered temporary relief. I finally decided to have the surgery, it was not an easy decision, however, I am so blessed that I found Dr Heim, I am only two weeks post OP now but I can definitely tell that his Professionalism will pay off, as well as his wonderful Staff especially is office assistant Alane! I was in debilitating pain when I visited DR Heim about 2 years ago. After an MRI it was apparent that my L5 was quite out of place. It was sever enough that Dr. Heim recommended surgery immediately. He was able to schedule me for surgery within 3 days. He preformed the correction on the date scheduled and I was released the next day without pain and very little indication anything had been done. He said to be patient as it could take up to a year to recover completely. It was slow but steady and I am amazed at how I have recovered. It far exceeded my expectations. Amazing experience and results. Dr Heim did a double level (L4/L5 and L5/S1) fusion on my back in 2004. Prior to the surgery I could barely stand up and had significant pain in all positions. Since then, my life has fully returned to 100% normal structurally. In fact, I was able to swing a golf club about 50% just 3 months following the surgery. Now, 16 years later, I have been able to enjoy any and all activities from skiing, hiking, running, golfing, etc. I could not recommend Dr. Heim more highly.

I have over a dozen herniated disks, spinal stenosis, etc etc. you name it. All of which has been confirmed by 4 doctors over the last 3 years. Dr heim did an X-ray and told me I was in perfect condition. Unreal. Seemed cocky and overly confident. The search must continue.....

Dr heim is OUTSTANDING! He diagnosed my injury and had surgery scheduled within the week. I had a ruptured herniated disc and could barely walk. Constant pain. Dr heim went over everything and I felt confident he could fix it. He did! When I came in, I had constant back pain, hip pain, leg pain, and numbness in my foot and toes. The surgery took about an hour and I walked out that day (which is today). Back, hip, leg pain gone! Numbness in toes gone! I do have pain from the incision, but that’s to be expected. Over the span of 10 years, Dr Heim did two microdisectomies on my lower back, both with positive results. His staff is great and I’ve had a great outcome after both surgeries. Dr. Heim recently performed ACDF surgery on me. Every nurse, tech, doctor staff,etc that I met in my pre-op ranted about what a great Dr. Heim was and I must agree now post op. Every thing he described prior to my surgery is going as planned and I expect complete recovery. Immediately after surgery the nerve pain I suffered for 8 weeks is gone. I am so grateful for his care and as I was told before surgery he has soft hands and provides great care to his patients. I agree whole heartedly!

HE IS THE BEST BACK DR. THAT YOU COULD EVER ASK FOR, HE TAKES TIME AND YOU NEVER FEEL RUSHED.

Very upfront about expectations - I had disc problems repaired (terminology?)- excellent after-care and follow up support. L4 and L5 fused, no issues 8 years later. He had an excellent support system and I was walking the day of surgery, went home about 4 days after? Response to questions after surgery was really good- his explanations were very clear and helpful. By now his techniques are probably different but I was very happy with the results even after this time-
