Had an operation on my lower back one year ago (June 2021). My walking was very unstable. The pain, almost unbearable at times started at my lower back and ran down my right leg all the way down to my big toe. I had tried corticosteroid injections two years earlier and it worked for more than a year. Then the pain started coming back. Tried the corticosteroid injections again but this time it didn't work. I decided that I was only putting off the inevitable and decided to go for the spinal fusion (vertebrae two to three and three to four). Understand that this is a major inpatient operation. Considering the condition I was in prior to the operation and how I feel now I feel that the operation was a complete success. I can completely recommend Dr Curtin and do so without reservation.

Dr Curtin is very thorough. He takes the time to explain everything and is so down to earth.

I had a spinal fusion in October after trying less invasive options for a year. Dr Curtin was right on with his diagnosis and his surgical remedy. He doesn’t pressure you to have surgery but allows you to come to the conclusion on your own. The surgery has made a word of difference by alleviating my pain.

Dr Curtin did complex spine surgery on my husband, and explained options and outcomes very well. He communicates in a clear and very understandable manner, is patient and attentive to any questions or concerns we have had throughout the entire process, from first visit through surgery and during aftercare. He is thorough, honest yet also reassuring. We highly recommend him..one of the best doctors we have ever had! A very skillful surgeon and compassionate human being!

Dr. Curtin spent alot of time explaining my condition and his treatment plan. He was very thorough with his diagnosis and what my surgery would involve.

I have been seeing Dr Curtin for many years for lower back issues. This past fall he performed a 3-level fusion on my back. I’m 12 weeks post surgery and have gotten the relief desired. Dr Curtin and his team have always been exceptionally professional and I give them the highest marks possible.

Dr. Curtin has helped me with my ailing spine for several years both cervical and lumber with the latest fusion surgery of L3 to L5 for severe stenosis. After a six-week recovery period my back was like new, and I think he has magical powers. He is the absolute best, starting with his humble but assuring bedside manner to his extraordinary expertise that is unmatched. Together with his able assistant, Crystal Hamlin, they are a team that are unbeatable. While suffering unbearable leg pain while waiting for the scheduled surgery, she repeatedly went the extra mile to help me while needing to be out of town. On the scale of 1 to 5, these two are a 10 !!

Dr. Curtin is excellent!! I struggled with back and leg pain, numbness, tingling. Walking and sitting were very uncomfortable, sleeping as well. After imaging, we discussed appropriate options starting with PT. Muscle weaknesses and imbalances were found and are being corrected and I’m 90% better. He is exceptional…he’s kind, listens to his patients, and provides skilled care whatever treatment is needed. He loves what he does, and it shows in the care his patients receive. His staff is excellent as well!!

I got the best care before and after surgery from Dr. Curtin. I‘m very happy with the outcome of my lumbar spine surgery.

Presurgery had crippling back pain preventing standing and walking. After appropriate surgery awoke pain free and has stayed gone for months now.

Seen for follow up for cervical radiculopathy. Prompt, pleasant yet professional. Assessed but took time to answer questions, never felt rushed. Highly recommend him and entire organization. Clean and organized so sometimes appointments delayed but with the wait.

Dr. Curtin operated on my spinal cord last year. He's a great surgeon and cares about his patients. He listens. I would highly recommend seeing him if you have any back pain. He knows what he's doing.

My husband accompanied me on my first visit to Dr. Curtin. During that consultation, Dr. Curtin convinced both of us of his professionalism. He asked questions & "listened" to my answers. He answered all our questions & thoroughly reviewed & explained my MRI & x-rays. He even ordered more x-rays while we were in his office, which were done immediately on the premises, after which he had us escorted back into the examining room to explain & discuss the new x-rays. He confirmed my spinal issues were, indeed, a problem, but also addressed serious hip problems, which he wanted a hip surgeon to evaluate. Dr. Curtin not only referred me to a hip surgeon, but conferred with him on my condition & helped get me an appointment. While Dr. Curtin's expertise is in spinal surgeries, which he felt did need addressed, he, nevertheless, deferred me to another doctor for a 2nd opinion as to which issue was most serious. That's caring & professional doctoring. Will definitely return. Highly recommend.

Had to have back stabilization and fusion. Big Decision! Did a lot of research and chose Dr. Curtin as my orthopedic surgeon. Was very glad I did. All my previous pains and problems have been alleviated. He is thorough, meticulous, caring and efficient.

My dad has had 6 fusions with him and he has only made him worse. Do yourself a favor. Don’t get a fusion and don’t ever go to him.

I had a painful back condition. I was stooped over and having to rely totally on a walker. Dr. Curtin performed spinal surgery. One year later I was white water rafting on the Colorado River. I remain pain free and 100% mobile.
