Staff was awesome and easy to talk to for both consultation and surgery day. Everyone was very kind and helpful during my recovery process. Surgery went very quickly too! I'm currently 2 weeks post surgery and have had no issues with healing. HUGE thank you to Dr. Christiansen and his lovely staff.

Absolutely 10000% recommend Dr. Christiansen and his team!!! After first being referred by my dentist to a different oral surgeon that didn't accept my insurance, I was told by multiple coworkers to see Dr. Christiansen. I was lucky enough to get a appointment asap due to cancelations. I was definitely nervous going into my appt. because having my wisdom teeth extracted has so far been the most invasive thing I've had to endure. I felt more than comfortable and at ease with the entire staff. My expectations were definitely exceeded. Within a couple of hours of my extractions I felt tremendously better & the pain that had been bothering me for days was alleviated! (And no, I hadn't taken prescribed pain medication, just 400mg ibuprofen) I almost thought the 2nd extraction wasn't done until I saw the incision because I felt so much relief! I now understand why Dr. Christiansen was so highly recommended. I will definitely continue to recommend Dr. Christiansen & his staff! This place is amazing from the time you walk and get everything done to the time they wheel you out!! They were awesome with my Son that was so scared to be put to sleep. Wife had a wisdom and the adjacent tooth extracted. Didn't explain the process very well. Seemed in a rush to leave once the extraction was completed. Had to extract care information from the assistant and on a follow up call the staff were unprofessional and were supposed to call back with some recommendations, still waiting.

The last place I want to go to is the oral surgeon. That being said, everyone here is exceptional. The surgeon is happy, confident, and and so nice. The entire staff is very welcoming and I was very comfortable the whole time I was there. I hope there is no reason for me to go back, but they make you want to visit them again.

My child got a wisdom tooth removed and then a day after that they had a stroke.

I was referred to Christiansen to get my wisdom teeth removed. He dismissed me after a few minutes, saying that I didn't need them to be taken out, without even doing an exam. I recieved a better referral shortly after because I desperately needed all four of my wisdom teeth removed.

I did not have a great visit here. However, who really likes going to the dentist? I just felt like I was pushed out of the office without any aftercare instructions when my procedure was done. When i got to my car, i still had tooth pieces in my mouth so yeah, they rushed. The whole experience was a nightmare for me.

Thank you so much Dr. Christiansen and staff. Dr. Christiansen is one of the best Dentist. He explains in details what he's going to do during the dental procedure. I got two of my wisdom teeth extracted last week, I was nervous but they made me feel comfortable. I highly recommend this place. (=

I love Dr. Christensen and his staff. He is excellent, proficient and brilliant. I had two extractions and he removed them without me having any pain. His assistant is excellent and gave me all the necessary post-surgical instructions. When I go into a medical office, I can sense the atmosphere of the staff and they are marvelous, smart, proficient and kind. Love this practice.

DO NOT RECOMMEND, FIND ANOTHER ORTHODONTIST. The doctor had told me that he was going to be out of town for a week following my wisdom teeth removal. Instead of referring me to a fellow colleague for a one week checkup, he gave me a water syringe with no instructions and a heavy dose of antibiotics because he was going out of town. The antibiotic he gave me was called Clyndamicin, which he didn't tell me had a black warning box label by the FDA. Due to this prolonged exposure to an antibiotic and no known infection, all of my good gut bacteria disappeared. This led to me developing CDIFF, a potentially life altering and fatal disease. I am 18 years old, I eat extremely healthy and exercise everyday. The doctor that I saw said the only reason that I had developed this disease was induced by the antibiotics that this "orthodontist" had prescribed. Not only have they potentially altered the course of my young life, they also preformed everything with extreme malpractice. They did not answer my questions, they rushed with hastiness through the procedure, and they did not care about the post procedure. As well as they left multiple air bubbles in my I.V. when putting me under, it had seemed like close to the amount of 10 CC's, which can cause death and adverse side affects, when I had mentioned something they didn't take the time to flush the I.V. and had allowed me to pass out. 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND. I went in to have 3 wisdom teeth extracted and couldn’t have been happier with the results. The staff was fabulous, and were all so caring both before and after the procedure.

Christiansen removed two of my wisdom teeth a few years ago, and ever since if I need to see a maxiofacial surgeon I request him. He's wonderful, and he genuinely about his patients. He will explain about the procedure and even give you a blow by blow to help keep you calm.

Made an appointment to have wisdom tooth removed and it went smoothly. I believe I was in the office for no more then 45mins. My appointment was in the early afternoon and I was surprised when I got a check up call at around 8:30pm from Dr Christiansen himself. I don’t think I’ve ever been contacted by a medical provider after hours just to see how I was doing. From my experience I would recommend Dr Christiansen. I've had difficult extractions before (root tips hooking together at the tips), and it was a miserable experience, taking what felt like over an hour to get all the fractured pieces out. This has been the best dental experience I have ever had! So professional and kind. All of the staff are very friendly and welcoming. I am usually anxious and uneasy at the dentist and this time I came in for a cracked tooth that had been causing me pain for months. He removed it so quickly and when the numbness wore off I still felt minimal discomfort. I wouldn’t even call it pain so much as soreness which is to be expected. Traumatized as a 12 year old by Dr. Christiansen. That was 9 years ago. Very poor novocaine administration led to me screaming and Dr. Christiansen threatening to leave me half finished and insulting me and my mother. Have had PTSD and/or extremely bad dentist anxiety ever since. No Compassion.

My dental implant was done by Dr. Christiansen 10 years ago. My teeth shifted during the months of the healing process between the tooth extraction and the implant. Their office should offer options for "spacers" to keep teeth in place during that interim period. My bite changed because of that, and I've needed additional dental work afterwards. Some dentists recommended that I needed braces, and I already had braces as a teenager. No dentist ever recommended braces for me until after my teeth shifted from the extraction healing period. Ask about a "spacer" if you are having a tooth extracted. My dental implant was done by Dr. Christiansen 10 years ago. Everyone was so friendly. They even called to see how I was doing the day after surgery. I had IV sedation and a complicated extraction, but it seemed like a breeze. I highly recommend this office!!

I would give more stars if i could. I had the best experience ever. I started with really bad toothache on thursday but i thought it would go away then my other wisdom tooth started hurting. During the weekend the pain became worst and worst i called every single office i could think of to try to get an appt but ofcourse no luck. I called first thing on monday and Sandra was so sweet and helpful she was able to find me a consult monday afternoon and was able to schedule me for surgery first thing on tuesday. Dr Christiansen and all the staff were amazing during the consult but they truly blew my mind with how amazing and special they made me feel for the surgery as well. It went soo smoothly he explained the process and explain his post op directions as well as explaining the entire information to my sister as well since she drove me to the appt. I went i they put the iv on me (which i was impressed no bruises no hard time finding a vain on me unlike other places) and little after i was out no pain no discomfort i was sent home to rest. All up to this point i have normal discomfort and pain but im sure it go away soon as long as i follow his directions. Any time that i go to any kind of dentist, i get major anxiety but staff members were very friendly, kind and reassuring. Dr. Christianson, himself, was very friendly. Explained everything to me. Got a tooth extracted yesterday and he personally called me last night around 7 or 8 just to check up on me and answered any and all questions that i had. No Dr has ever done that. Great experience, everyone was so friendly, super efficient. My daughter had her wisdom teeth done, and they made the entire process from insurance to post care super simple. She can be shy, and had no problem going back for her follow up on her own. Highly recommend.

Usually I only write reviews for bad experiences but I got my wisdom teeth out last Monday and it was so easy and such a good experience considering. I get queezy around needles and the iv was so easy, I woke up and felt fine. I went home and everything went smooth and the same night Dr. Christiansen called me personally to ask if my bleeding stopped and if I had any concerns or questions. They also send you home with chapstick which is so nice since the procedure makes your lips dry. Was not the best experience as a provider myself (clinical social worker/mental health therapist) I expect probably too much from other health care providers, especially after working for UNMH as a clinician. I’m also a transgender woman of color and the staff is less than trained in these areas. Regardless of who I am as a person or professional, the staff already had me “pegged”. The initial secretary was quite salty and rude and she insisted on mis-gendering me with he’s and him’s. I was like, do I appear as a he?! Further more the nurse couldn’t even try to say my name, she used “or whatever”. Hugely insulting and would not be a place where I would refer my own clients. The doctor was actually fantastic. Very professional and respectful towards me, although he kept the exam room door open during the consult. I hope this office staff considers getting training in working with all kinds of patients. 4 for the doctor. 2 maybe 1 and 1/2 for the staff. Came in to get wisdom tooth removed, the surgery was quick and efficient. After the surgery the wound was sealed making it get infected, pain was horrible. The pain persists but pushing against it was enough for the doctor to understand there is no puss so the wound is fine and antiobiotics would resolve the issue. Half of my face is i. My experience with Dr. Christiansen and his staff was pleasant, and the surgery went well. I do recommend him to anyone needing oral surgery.

It is a shame that some people can't write a proper review on Dr. Christiansen. One woman (transgender) stated Dr. Christiansen was fantastic, but rated him a 2 star because of claimed conflicts with a staff member. How can the Doctor be fantastic and receive a 2 star? The other 2 star rating was a an unclear rambling. I have had many dental procedures from extractions to bridge work. With the exception of Perfect Teeth, I have been happy with all my work. Dr. Christiansen is, however, one of the best I have gone to. Possibly THE best. I had an infected molar (#31). I had been to a Prosthodontist, an Endodontist and a Periodontist. All recommended extraction. All recommended Dr. Christiansen as the best. I was nervous about the extraction as the tooth had fairly large roots and was possibly cracked. Dr. Christiansen is near painless. After waiting for the nova cane to work, the actual procedures was less than a minute or so. Dr. Christiansen explained what was happening (which I like) and out came the tooth. It is now day two. Aside from a minor swelling, my mouth feels great. I am totally amazed. I personally found all the staff to be friendly, professional and calming. Frequent visits from one of the staff, while my mouth was numbing, was comforting. Dr. Christiansen has a great "bed side manner" that puts you at ease. Dr. Christiansen's office and procedure rooms are large, inviting and, most importantly, clean. Very comfortable surroundings. Dr. Christiansen, called me last night to see how I was doing. Spent time on the phone. (who does that anymore?) I, along with ALL my other Dentists, highly recommend Dr. Christiansen. Again, it is a shame that someone would give him a 2 star rating, because of a perceived bias by his staff, yet say he was fantastic as a Oral Surgeon. But, they were right. I recently had six extractions and me being so afraid of the dentist was ao afraid to go to the dentist to get this done.But i had to it was a great experience i was iv sedated which made it a little easier.I was hardly in any pain during or a few days aftwr the extactions.Thank god and thank for the great staff at Dr.Christiansen offfice especially himself made sure i was comfortable and took great care of me. I highly recommend making him your oral surgeon he and his staff is outstanding and calls you the night of the procedure to make sure all is well.and also quickly responds to pages for emergency questions.Two thumps up for this great dr and staff. Dr. Stephen Christiansen and the staff were very friendly. It took me couple months to get a appointment because he have so many patients. I was 20 weeks pregnant when I had my 3 wisdom teeth pulled out. he had to cut the gum to get my 2 bottom wisdom teeth extracted and cut the teeth in half to fit in the hole. All that procedure took him 15 mins as he promised Without pain at all. Even the process of numbing my gum using big needles didn't bother me. I am from las cruces so he personally called me that night after my appointment to check on me which was really nice of him. I would definitely recommend him to anyone that needs teeth extraction. My experience with Dr. Christiansen's office far exceeded my expectations. The staff are incredibly professional, and compassionate. I was able to get a consultation appointment 3 days after my initial phone call. My wisdom teeth have been aching, and they were able to get me in for oral surgery in less than a week - and on a holiday (new year's eve)! Despite having an impaction and 3 wisdom teeth to remove - they had me in and out in an hour and 30 minutes. I'm grateful to have been able to work with such a competent, compassionate professional. I had an infected tooth and Dr Christiansen and his staff made an appointment immediately. The staff was nice and professional. The Dr explained options and I was on and out of the office on about an hour. He extracted my tooth on a Friday before lunchtime and I received a personal call from the Dr Friday evening at home to see how I was doing. That kind of service and followup was impressive and appreciated. Highly recommend this Dentist.

Dr.Christiansen was very professional, but more than that he was and his staff were very considerate and caring toward his patients. Dr. Christiansen treated me great, my surgery went excellently. His staff called the next day to ensure everything was ok. I recommend anyone in the Albuquerque area needing oral surgery check out Dr, Christiansen.

I went to Dr. Christiansen to pull a tooth. I am terrified of dentist so I prefer to be knocked out during the procedure. I was in and out in 20 minutes. Staff is accommodating, friendly, smiling, professional. The doctor is a darling. He knows his stuff. He is trustworthy. He is an angel. I can highly recommend them to everyone who are scared of dentists. I would give 10, no, 100 stars if I could.

Most everyone wanted two appoints one for a consult and one for the procedure. Being a 3 hr drive one way it was important to find a Dr. that would work with us and save us travel time.
